  1. This is your fault @dann2707
  2. Sat in my garage, with a brand new home made loom on the passenger seat and its engine out. I have everything to do it, just no interest lol. I really should finish it and start enjoying it, I plan on a mk1 reshell or something at some point.
  3. Nice one Dan, I started doing a similar thing with the mini but never got round to finish it it..
  4. I'm amazed it even works. 1 - it's a mini 2- it's a K series engine 3 - It's a K series engined mini It's got f**k all going for it in terms of reliability
  5. When the mini was on the road a womping T3 turbo 1" from the bulkhead generally kept me warm, aswell as the straight pipe down the middle haha. Heater looks good though Dan, where was that from mate? Something like that could be useful in the mini.
  6. #Derbyshire is possibly my favorite
  7. Work for yourself they said, it'll be worth it they said... What a shitter, 11pm with still a good few hours ahead, probably be like this for the next few weeks too
  8. Cheers Mike, it's been a money pit but worth it. I doubt it'll go much higher in price, I've already been offered a record amount for this particular model so it'll take a serious collector to top it. Only another 8 to go, not sure what Jenny will say when I bring the next few home
  9. I bought this last year to restore and keep, started to restore last November and finally got it playing last night for my Monday deadline (it's my birthday).. No screw or fitting has been missed on her, everything is zinc plated or painted back to factory finish. Even operates on coin too! Just got the grille emblem to refit but I'm over the moon with her. Managed to pick up the correct wall box for her too as a birthday present to myself. There was only 148 of these ever made.. Connected to the original stepper box and all selections work as should and again on coin! Every dealer/customer that has seen her wants to buy and have offered silly money for her but she's not going anywhere. I'm fairly confident to say she is the best one in the UK if not further afield. I have a pair of original external speakers for her too if I can convince Jenny to let me bring them home, what 20ftx13ft living room doesn't need a valve amp driving through 6 12" Jensen's
  10. As Luke says, why not do it now before painting Dan. Could even just wire brush the floor around them, get spreaders cut and bolt in sandwich style, then just drive to garage for a few quick stitch welds when your ready.
  11. Hottest 2 weeks of the year, Dan thinks opportune moment to take A/C out
  12. Your a strange child, Daniel. Should look cool though mate, really liking where your Clio is going.
  13. I like the grey idea Dan, I wanted to do something similar on my mini, but that just looks like primer
  14. I've never, ever used Strava, never interested me and I think it'd only depress me lol!
  15. As Paul says Mike, If your car is a keeper I'd look at improving on his work. Is there any access holes to your inner sills? Can you get in there if you take the lower belt bolt out? I'd lash that full of a good quality wax oil. Don't buy any multibuy eBay crud, try and aim for something good and load both sides full. You'll stand a better chance of these repairs lasting. Try and find some of the aerosols with the long flexi nozzle to get in all the nooks and crannies
  16. Your partly right, but outer sill also holds a pretty good portion of strength. It creates the box section profile with the inner. Obviously the car isn't gonna fold in half, and will probably never be a problem.
  17. I hate to say it, because I never like it when I've paid for something then some dickhead on the internet slags it off but I've gotta agree with Paul. Sills aren't something to play about with, they're pretty integeral to that shells strength, especially being a convertible. I'd really be tempted to have them redone before the paint Mike, not even from an aesthetic point of view just pure safety. the KA sills a nice tip if your ever struggling for a sill on anything, they're pretty universal as there's no real complicated profile to them, if I remember rightly even the door shut pressing is gauge how similar to the mx5 too!
  18. I don't know why people bother making panels, Ford KA sills fit mx5s spot on, and are about 12 quid a side.
  19. Google Drive hadn't sync'd, microSD seems to have a selective memory, it's saved a load of pictures from an older phone, saved a few from my last phone but with no pattern?! Somehow seems I've told my photobucket to back stuff up though? Result. Still down quite a few pictures of Ted as a puppy but Jenny has hundreds so not all is lost. Going to pop into a repair shop to see if they can advise or retrieve anything from it.
  20. You know it. Mines still knocking about locally with 240k last time I spoke to them lol.
  21. Phone had a bath saturday and after the rest of the weekend in rice seemingly is dead. Is there anyway of getting the images from the phone? Luckily up to about 3 weeks ago is backed up on my works tablet, but all my personal pictures aren't which sucks.
  22. That wasn't a christening, I have 3 carry case type boxes of 45's that have been on there. Raging from Glenn Miller to Etta James and everything in between haha.
  23. It was the video of one spawning in a park and everyone flooding to find it got me wondering, is it first to find get it or is it there for all. Seems pretty cool idea I think, I like the idea of it!
  24. Something I don't understand, does everyone have the same 'map'? Do like if John was walking down the street and saw a whatever to catch, could someone beat him to it??
