I wouldn't necessarily say a direct fit, but I know when I worked at my dad's autofactors we sold no end of them for MX5 owners. They might take abit of fettling but get a competent metal man on the job and you'll be sorted. Do you have a autofactors locally that might stock them to have a look at and compare?

So that sill repair has set me off, pair of MK1 transit rear arches ordered to try and fab with, they look a very similar shape so will hopefully be able to do something with them.
-
Just take your time Mike. Agree with Dan disconnect your battery regardless. Don't bother buying outer sills for a MX5, ford KA sills will do the job and they're peanuts.

I'm pleased with it, half tempted to tackle the back arches now. So much for winter bodywork
-
I know I said bodywork was for the winter time but it really pissed me off so I attacked the hole in the front wing today. I'm no welder But it's solid and dressed back well. There was nothing underneath amazingly so I just wire wheeled the inner sill and slapped some chassis black in there. I'll wax oil the inside tomorow when the paints dried and give it a quick mop over to hide the blend. Pleased for a 3hour job though !

3 episodes, I gave up and just watched regular porn that's not insest-y.

Just been pulled over for combined red brake lights, side lights and indicators. Police man was fuming halfway through writing his ticket when the bloke the other end of his walkey talkey confirmed that vehicles 1965 and before are exempt from separate light testing rules Had a good evening on the car anyway. I thought I'll crack some jobs off. Started to replace the boot lock that had been drilled out for some reason, not knowing I need a 27mm box spanner to remove the old barrel, so that job was thwarted. Thought I'd replace the bulbs in the instrument cluster as non work and night driving is, interesting... Someone's scotch blocked onto the back of the wiring harness so tightly that you can't get the cluster out and I gave that up for a job when I have more time. So I threw a wobbler and decided to just go a thrash around in it.

Same as mustang, early escort and transit apparently. Carried on into the 80s haha. Brake flexis were matched up. It has the hole in the bottom of the wing, both backs of the arch and that's it really. All chassis rails and floors are totally solid. The roofs been painted before and the o/s wing but other then that it's mostly original paint which is amazing. Going to try and blow bits in as best as possible to keep as much original as I can. I'm not up mad for preserving the factory stuff, it's just too good to paint and the mild patina suits it pretty well.

Do Megane desiel boxes fit? I know my mate has a savage clio mk2 turbo that he runs desiel gearboxes on but I dunno if that applies in this case.
-
Cant you just pick up a cheapo box for the time being dude? Be a shame to miss the rest of the year!

New pinion seal, 2 universal joints and a pair of new brake flexis on and it's a totally different car. Awesome sauce.

Yank tank went up on a friend's 4 post a few nights ago, very impressed with it underneath absolutely no rot on the underside. Some surface rust that'll come up good with a few hours and a wire wheel but other then that great. Seems like it's had a full service a few years ago with new ball joints, shocks and wheel bearings which is nice. Needs a new universal joint on the back of the prop but local motor factors actually stocked one so fitting that tonight. 3 inch lowering block and air Can't wait for winter to strip the back end down and get everything painted up and rebuilt. I know it's solid but it does look shitty.

Local classic meet with a mate in his 64 Chevy pickup, had enough of the meet though and had a steady run to the pub
-
Game of thrones, what an absolute pile of turd.

Any VAG desiel then I'd say. Don't they do a Leon FR desiel or something?! Today was interesting.. A mate told me about a Ford RS owners club meet local and asked if I'd want to go so I jumped in the barge this morning for a run down with him and ended up on the show stand The guy next to me with that immaculate MK4 was fuming when I parked next to him.
-
I remember when my mini shat it's diff bearings, drove round for a few weeks till I could afford the rebuild with the loudest and most annoying click ever haha. Also found it had shreaded a drop gear too so god knows how it actually still moved!
