Jesus that's nice, I love the 55 bel air's but the 57/58s are something else.. Might be going to look at this Mercury Country Squire when I get back, it means selling my collection of jukes but it could be worth it...

Only got 2 episodes of stranger things left before I've finished, really loving it!

American bodywork literally makes my shit itch. Paint stripper, why? Just introduces future problems to your job, especially when your going to hit it with a 40g disc after anyway. Bondo fixes everything. 3 coats of high build primer wet on wet?! That'll sink lovely in a few weeks time.

It had a shit load of yellow/gold pearl in the pictures aren't showing it was stunning in the light. Fairlane steering box came back today and it's awesome, genuinely drives like a modern car other then abit heavy when stationery.

Sold my old air ride kit and the guy turns up in this.. Mercury cougar with a 351 in there, Essentially a mustang in a different suit. Was an absolute stunner that went like a missile!

Yeah I didn't know untill I'd seen that one, electric too! I couldn't get over how the roof splits into 2 pieces with the front 1/3 folding under it was a work of art! They are massive, I'd love to own one some time. I'd love a '60 Ford sunliner more though, they are just cool.. I saw one at Worthing hot rod show a few years ago on air ride and it was the sickest thing I'd ever seen, it must've only been about 2ft high

LAAAAND HOOOOO! That Fairlane is your focus's great grandad anyway, so dont be such a disrespectful tail.

Italian tune up to burn all the shit out and jobs a gooden. Just followed my dad back in his camper and after about 5 miles it started to smell abit, by the time I got in contact with my mum who was passenger the camper was kicking some grey/blue smoke out the tailgate so he quickly pulled over. Lifted the lid with the fire extinguisher at the ready to find a fan belt that had snapped, took out both plastic cold air feed pipes so the engine had cooked itself, luckily it hasn't done too much damage internally hopefully. After planning our next move for a few minutes the biggest bang and crashing noise came from the back end. Went to check it to find it's launched a spark plug clean out of the head and into the engine bay . We got it back, once it had cooled down we checked the threads in the head and it seems the engine got that hot it's thrown the plug clean with no thread damage! Unbelievable, it started up pretty well too once it had cooled.

Drop a smidge of diesel down the bores if possible and just turn it over a little first to save turning over on dry bores.

Look who's purging now is my favourite. It's just full of great lines. Heads up, rapists...

Rebuild kit for steering box -£156 ISS classic steering in Birmingham, £150 to strip the box, blast and bath, repaint the casting and rebuild with new seals and bearings. Don't mind if I do!

No I haven't repeated anything. I'm trying to wake you up from the argument you seem to have made yourself, it's nothing to do with one having more rights then the other, it's about them both being treated the same in the given situation. If a car user hit and killed a pedestrian and received a sentence of 5 years, i would like to think the sentence would be the same if it was a cyclist thst hit the pedestrian. The crime is still the same regardless of the vehicle. Anyway I've had enough here, I was only trying to stop you from making yourself look like too much of a goon but it seems you were on a path of self destruction with this one.

Which episode are you on Alex? I love it. Just watched s3e6 this afternoon and it's just as good.
-
Jeff, no one has mentioned the car people being treated unfairly, more the cyclists being treated as road users. Read up again.
-
I think you misunderstood JDs argument Jeff, it wasn't car drivers are the high and mighty. It was if a cyclist wants to use the roads and be treated with the common curtosies of a motorist then expect the same punishments as a the motorist.

It lasted well an it was kinda a known fault. Steering box gave up, the steering had slack and a tight spot in there since day 1 but I was hoping to hold out till winter to rebuild, turned a left corner and it just carried on straight . Reconned unit from America are available but I think im.gonna try for a rebuild over here, the bearings have fallen apart either end of the steering shaft so rather then turning on the worm drive the worm drive runs as a thread and comes up and down the steering box.

Banned from a local classic night for busting a burnout on the way out It was encouraged by what I guessed was the landlords but later turned out to be bar staff. They got my phone number from a buddy at the meet and phoned me later. Ahh well, it's the smallest local meet round here and all the same cars from other meets too.

Glad it's getting sorted Mike, what's on the cards after??

That'll look awesome when it's finished Alex, can't wait to see it! Fixed my intermittent brake light fault with a new stop light pressure switch. Gone round and fitted all new bulbs throughout too. Next up is fix the blowing exhausts, new flasher relay and replace the lenses on the parking lights.

Just pretty boring to be honest. Most exciting thing there was a hill climb 205 that went like a stabbed rat. I suppose I was abit harsh saying it was crap but there's only so many mk2 golfs and 'drift' E36 you can walk around for a full day.

Well that was a shower of poo

Anyone else off to retro rides tomorow?
