Just been plaing about with my frame design. Looks a load better now I feel.

For my final project at college, we had our own brief to set and work with ect, I chose to design a minimalist piece of furniture/storage unit that was totally versitile to any needs. Its no where near as good as half of the solidworks stuff up there ^ But it shows my idea preety well, The idea of using boxes cae about to create storage and still be able to be made flat pack to suit comsumer needs. Usig the hooks means users can adapt the amount of boxes they use on a single system. The 2 rails are held in place through suction cups, not the usual small lame ones, something like the ones used for moving glass panes ect. Modeled using Lightwave 9.2.

If safety is a problem, look at the later minis. They had side impact bars, I know its still not gonna be much but every little helps. and to be honest, this minis crumple like a coke can, is a load of shit. My first mini was a cat c write off, the previous owner went into the back of a lorry at some speed, tried to swerve so he didnt hit it, clipped the side and span it into a tree at still heavy speeds. Needed a new front end basically, and a roof section, but i doubt it could have been worse then that for a crash, and aparently he walked away with cuts and bruises. So all this about minis crumple instntly in a crash is a lie. I will say its not going to be the safest car you ever drive, by a long shot. It will be the funnest thou. Just do all you can to drive safely and just remember to be aware as to whats going on around you and you'll be fine.

Haha, I hate them for how much money you can throw into them. But when its done all that money seems to have been worth it. Hopefully this project wont stand me at more then 3k. Hopefully

Why not get a first car, then get a mini as a project, make a few years doing the work, by the times its on the road, any modifications you make will be cheap on your insurance and what not and you'll have the ini you wanted! It's what I'm doing anyway... Hope my theory about the insurance works. lol.

Haha, You'd hate my mini then, seats basically on the floor pan. Mini's are awsome. It's the most fun thing I have driven (compared to a few of my mates mobiles). Theres nothing lke going round a roundabout in a mini at break neck speeds (still within the speed limit). And after driving a clio that was the same MPG figure as the mini I instantley knew which I'd rather be driving round for the same money it was costing me. the clio was no fun at all, whereas you jump in the mini and its ready for a thrapesing round bends and country lanes. 1 problem, if you get big into the mini scene, its a very expensive mistake
