  1. Sorry I missed you ed, I had to come away quite early. Plus the heat in there was unbearable. Had a snoop round your viv too, looked smart! I was soo close to buying a 2011 cb radiated tortoise. It suddenly hit me thou, £675 on a tortoise is far to much, lol. I really wanted to buy a Burmese brown tort from Chris too, but the adult size is rediculous, although it is a species I'd like to care for one day. So all in all I bought a large ET clamp lamp for £5 an a digi hydrometer for the humid hide I'll be making soon. Torts are in there outdoor enclosure at the minute, the 2 leopards are enjoying it under the corugated plastic cover at the back. Temps under there are currently 39*c!!!
  2. Anybody heading to the IHS show at doncaster dome tomorow? See you there if you are!
  3. I missed this picture last time round, Escape proofing the russian side of the enclosure. Practically finished now, just got a few bits an pieces to stick inside now to make it abit more interesting for the torts. Still need some grass in the leopards side too. The roofs are hinged an fitted with pond netting to stop birds an stuff getting in. I don't know if it will work as planned but I've fitted corrugated plastic to the unhinged part to see if it will act as a cold frame/green house. I think with the front being open it won't keep the heat in but its still a nice shelter for them to get out of the elements if it starts to rain. Can see a big difference in their behavior being outdoors, there a lot more active an seem really alert somehow, I bring them in at night with the night temps being to temperamental at the minute, I'd rather know there safe indoors too until they have a proper outdoor shed to lock them in at night.
  4. Oh yeah they will insure you, but it'll be a standard policy, not a classic policy. Possibly, I know most operate like that but footman James may be different...
  5. Majority of classic policies are 19+, regardless of phone or internet. An the chap that wanted a samba, why the hell?! Lol. There god awful slow, ride like crap an are actually a little worrying to drive when they get a side wind.
  6. Dunno if anybody on here is interested but recently I've been putting the feelers out for reptile housing/tort tables in the local area. Sold a few which has been nice. Just made this for somebody local to house a hatchling tortoise, 2x2ft table. Flat packs away an comes apart in about 30 seconds for easy cleaning. Incredibly simple but it does the job perfect. I can make anything really up to 10ft square if really needed. So yeah, anybody interested in a tortoise table/viv/Anything feasible made from wood gimme a shout! Few pictures of previous projects...
  7. 33 EJB. Just so I could toy with it an f**k every purist off. If not that then a minter of a 1071 Austin mk1 cooper s.
  8. Built a new enclosure for the torts over the past few nights, 16ftx7ft, split down the middle to seperate the 2 species... Russian tort side, theres a plastic coated wire mesh 'cage' buried about 8" in the ground to stop him digging out... Leopards side, I'll be getting some turf in there soon for the to graze on. Just a hinged lid to make now. Bought some plastic netting thats used to cover pomds to stop birds getting at them, so I'll be using that to keep them safe. Need to finish off around the front too so it doesn't just look like a box in the garden . Heres what Ralph thought to it thou...
  9. Why on earth would he shoot himself? Cowardice suicide vs Martyrdom/ never surrender heroics......
  10. Ha, my primary school maths teacher Mrs Madison was born on 7.8.56, so that was drilled into us every lesson. I don't really have many mantra's or personal phrases. 'Its only as complicated as you make it'. My dad said that after I was considering what to do about breaking up with my ex. I just sorta sat back an took stock, an it all just seemed to pan out. No need for excuses, no need for bull, just straight from the heart truth an it'll all be alright, everytime. Just seems to work/apply for 99% of problems.
  11. Avid elixr5 from onone.co.uk. I picked up a pair of 185mms recently for half price at £68 each. Brilliant brakes, really can't fault them. Feel nice, easy to setup an just generally work as they should. Impressive straight from the box.
  12. No worries, there not going anywhere if you change your mind . The finished article... Mega chuffed with it, the whole gear package works sooo well, instant shifting an its soo smooth, rides like a dream!
  13. Dunno if you'd be interested Craig but I've got a 36h ex721 sat in the garage, straight, not seen much use as far as I know. Does have slight fade on the sidewalks from rim brakes but its not worn bad at all. Yours for 20+postage...
  14. Just ordered a SLX shadow mech, shifter an cassette along with a superstar CG. I'm like a kid, I can't wait for it to arrive an to get back out!!!
  15. Does indeed, I've taken your recomendation up an gone for a superstar CG, heres hoping it'll be good!
  16. Cheers tic. Just priced up a full slx setup on crc, for the money it seems good kit! Roll on payday. As for the chain guide I've ordered on through a mate in my lbs, but I'm concidering one of those superstar setups now, look a good piece of kit for the money! You've always been a flash git haven't you Craig. .
  17. Built my new wheels today, Hope XC/F519 front, Pro2/D521 rear. Laced with DT swiss champion spokes with a Conti Vertical on the front an a Mountain King on the back. Feels really nice now, rolls a hell of a lot faster then it did, an it looks a shit load better for having matching black hubs an rims. Just been a few hours hack through the woods and I'm impressed with the conti tyres, they don't seem as soft as the high roller that was on there but they gripped incredibly well still. Chain device coming sometime in the week an then I need to sort some sort of gears out on it, any suggestions? I've been thinking about a Sram X5 setup all round but I dunno wether to just go for Deore kit? I used to have a deore mech an trigger shifter and a tiagra road cassette on my trials bike which was faultless, but I imagine I'll be using the gears on this a fair bit more so I think it'll warrant the extra pennies.... It's not no, just a local track around here.
  18. Now now kiddies... When I picked them up it turned out they are all mountain 3's, which isn't a problem at all for me, if anything I mentioned it to him an haggled another 30 quid off . Top forks, couldn't recomend them enough so far, Must have done about 10-15 miles 5 nights a week for the past 2 weeks an I love them.
  19. Same again really, heres what I've been building over the past few weeks,,, One on 456, Marzocchi all mountain 3's, truvativ holtzfelt cranks/truv BB, raceface stem, Fireye bars, Avid Elixer 5 brakes. Bikehut post/Selle Italia seat. Feels mega bombproof and sturdy as hell, really confidence inspiring to ride. Yes that is a drilled back rim, it is single speed, an that is a pro2T on the back . I have a pro2 standard to go on once I've built my new wheel, (pro2/Mavic 321) which I'll fit gears onto then. I've also got a Ethirteen bash/chainguide setup ccomming in the next few days which will be preety nice. Just got back from a good 10mile ride which was awesome fun. Properly enjoying hacking around muddy lanes and stuff, awesome fun. There will be new tyres comming with the new wheel set too, any opinions on good tyre/what to avoid would be awesome. I'd like something kinda fast rolling, but not too shit when the floor gets abit loose...
  20. Sooo glad I went shorter, it feels a bit odd and slugish now, god knows what it would have felt like with something longer on it! Although this is only a short brakeless, gearless ride around the garden... an my first ride on the bike full stop. Expect many more questions about setups to come aswell, I'm completely new to anything other then trials!
  21. Hah, yeah I avoided anything 08-09 an decided to go earlier. Bought a set of seals for them too so I can refurb them before I put them on. Hopefully will last while I get a feel for this trail stuff...
  22. I know it seems a bit random, but I've bitten the bullet an after reading reviews, looking at setups etc on the net I've bit the bullet and bought some... Marzocchi '06 All mountain SR's, they came up at a good price, fit my requirements well (I came to the conclusion that 160 was abit overkill, so 140mm will do me well). I kept looking at pikes an Sektors, but for a bike I might not use as much as I'd like to, I couldn't warrant the price. Although I'm hoping I'll get on the bike all summer so I might treat myself to something a bit plusher in the future. Cheers for the help all, muchos appreciated.
  23. Thanks for the advice all, the only reason I fancy sticking with the QR is because I have a Hope XC spare, just fancied putting it back to use and saving myself a few pennies. I know they haven't been mentioned, but anybody ever used any Manitou Shermans? Theres a set for sale locally which didn't seem a bad price an reading the reviews they seem a good fork. 160mm travel but I don't think they are overly tunable. Theres a few sets of Pikes on the bay thou, which I just keep finding myself going back to.... Tic, anymore Info on the fox forks? I'll PM you
