  1. I think the whole winter wheel idea is a cracker. I only took my fancy wheels off to save them from road salts and such but when I thought of the benefits of having a second set of wheels with winter tyres made loads of sence to me. I haven't been stuck once yet, and only locked up once which I don't see how it could've been avoided. For the £200 it cost me,I know I'm sorted for a good few winters yet.
  2. Anybody else read the longbridge mini article in mini mag this month? I still don't understand why you'd want it.
  3. Turns out passats are slightly tail happy In the snow, for no apparent reason. Made for a good drive to the pub last night

With the missus working evenings now I've taken up model making to pass the time, more specifically the tamiya f1 range. This as meant m paying attention to the aesthetics and appearance of the cars. Leaves me with this question for you; Favourite formula 1 car through the ages/era? Personally mines the early 90s, the cars where stunning. More specifically, the Jordan 191... http://lemurph.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/jordan-191.jpg Or the mclaren mp4/5b, both stunning mean looking machines. What's yours?
  6. Was not expecting hat within 8 pages.
  7. One of my dads works astras engines failed at 70k, we got a free motor from a garage abit further along who were scrapping a rotten astra van due to rot, it had done 230k. Swapped the motor, Odometer in the astra now reads 170k and still going strong! Smokey, but strong.
  8. Love it when a plan comes together, hombre'
  9. Not really, season 1-8 were good then from there on it was about as shit as most of stonesours music....
  10. New family guy seems utter dog dick.
  11. Didn't plasmatic do something like this and failed??
  12. In 5 years I was looking in all the nooks an crannys today for a cable I'd lost, found a set of newish looking Honda keys in the back of the glovebox?! Question.. If car a did 180k over 10-12 years in small 20 mile journeys, would the wear rate be any different to a car that's done 180k in 5 years on 100mile+ journeys?
  13. Passats passed its mot with no advisories. Not bad for a 160k workhorse
  14. Yeah I get that but realisticaly that needs a new roof inc pillars, probably quite a lot more metal an all the 1275gt bits to make it a genuine thing, even then it's not really that car anymore. In my eyes it's in the same league as these ex works minis. Your buying the paperwork and I'D because the cars been reshelled ith 4 different subframes etc. It's abit like triggers sweeping brush.
  15. I'm gonna go Danny I think. Try an get some enthusiasm for mine. That clubman should've stayed where it was in my opinion. It's no good for anything, all the relevant parts have be picked from it, just seems a pointless excersize to me....
  16. I'm not picking fault at all, I also commented on how stunning it is. I just don't venture out of chit chat that often, so haven't really seen a bar angle setup like that...
  17. I think you'd benefit from backing your brakes off abit Toby, when I rode your bike the other night there really isn't much travel in your levers.
  18. Wtf is with that bar angle?! Bikes stunning thou, really nice.
  19. Slam it Luke, be a hero. Nah it weren't the springs he disliked, just the hassle the ride height would give him. Like you can't just jack it up, the only jack I've found that fits under is the scissor jack that came with the car. Doesn't matter too much, I've been meaning to lift it since I put my winters on last November incase we get any snow.
  20. Popped down to my mot station today to boo the passat in. Chap refused to mot it unless I raise it up Not too much of a bad thing thou, I took the helpers out the front so when it's jacked up the springs are loose, should be able to solve that.
  21. Isn't wynns rtv fuel-proof??
  22. If it whining I wouldn't advise driving it, but doubt it'll kill you. The only problem with worn wheel bearings is the excessive heat they make.
