I work with a nutcase woman, she's built like a tank and it's completely normal for her to just start yelling and screaming and crying at people because her son went to prison some years ago and used to smoke in the shed when he was 14 and we may aswell ALL smoke in the shed and you don't know what it's like when people buy you mobile phones you don't even want and, and, and.... ....She is f***ing MENTAL.

Nope, 2.8 OBD2 is late MK3 (the OBD1 is from early and the 2.9 from Corrados). The 24vs are 3.2's (hence R32) I drove a MK3 Highline with the same engine and it was woeful, all noise no action, like VTec but worse as it drops off at the top The Audi money will be kept safe while I'm away so when I get back to England I'll have £5k to chuck at something, preliminary plans are a 944 daily and either a MK2 Jetta Coupe or MK1 Caddy to put a mental engine in (I'm thinking RS2 again, but rear drive...) we'll see! Meanwhile on the other side of the world the Mrs and I have a fairly decent budget for a car/camper and I've got a Hilux itch to scratch Edit - just to add to my dislike of VR6s, they make less power than my 230,000mile 16v made and are nearly a litre bigger capaicty... Absolute toilet!

Just fill in the engine capacity box on the logbook before you send it off when changing owner, job jobbed!
-
Always quite fancied one, but the 12v VR6 is a f***ing terrible gutless engine. Other than that, go crazy, some idiot will pay as much or more for it when you get bored! Negotiate hard regardless though, 99% of 80/90's VWs are so wildly overpriced that you can cut the price in half if you rock up with cash There is a skanky looking green one that's actually surprisingly good shape but has too many doors ending on eBay tonight for peanuts I'd be going after if I wasn't leaving the country

Can't be arsed to quote, it's a PITA on a phone but on the matter of topping up oil - the difference between min and max on a dipstick is 1 litre, which was a complete game changer when someone told me And driving around the Arc De Triomphe is about the most fun thing I ever legally did on a road, it's just a free for all and you just muscle your way through honking your horn all the way, loved it haha!

Interesting read that! Next time just bridge the terminals on the starter motor with any metal object

I had that, thought it'd gone after a week then was twice as bad for 2! Hopefully nearly over although I have managed to pass it onto one of the old ladies who drinks in my pub who has now been in bed for 2 days, I should probably check up on her tomorrow actually

Well the happy thread became the car thread, so the car thread should now be the angry thread? They're the only threads I read on here so it makes no difference really Edit - that's a lie, I also read the Teenage Angst thread
-
Don't be fooled, they've sorted nothing, they just mean they sent you big boys ones with 40% of the size you were expecting missing!
-
Can someone give me the jist of it, I'm too curious to not know but I made that mistake last time with 3 guys 1 hammer
-
Gosh they're f***ing ugly aren't they! And generally don't like to be stroked, couldn't be doing with a cat that doesn't like fuss!
-
Ahaha, never seen those, love it! ...Coming soon to every scene VW with round lights, you heard it here first!
-
I don't think you should reject the idea offhand like that, they might have a point.
-
(great reg plate as a side note!)
-
Unless you have modern ultra-mega-hyper-lights... We all saw the pictures of that transformation! And I must say the washer blanks have really transformed the look of the car again! Do you have a before and after so I can see what the difference isn't?

Snowed for 10 minutes in Cornwall this afternoon, the way people were driving you'd think the world was ending!
-
Basically mapping and fuelling are the cripplers!
-
Injectors Fuel pump Pressure reg Mapping Associated electrical management bits Cooling (air and upgraded water ideally) Hoses Compression drop (ideally pistons, can get away with stacked head gasket/spacer) Exhaust will need to be bigger for proper gains though not 100% necessary to get going Oil feeds and shit you don't think about for the turbo Studs, nuts, gaskets etc, etc, etc Has The Happy Thread just become the car thread?
-
If you have brake judder, why have you replaced everything BUT the brakes?! You could never tell just by looking if the discs are in good enough condition...
-
Basically yeah, had to fill in the online police fraud form and get a crime number etc, he's done it to loads of people, worst of all sent a guy a CD Rom instead of an £1100 camera
-
Further to my posts in the angry thread about being scammed out of £500 on eBay the other week, today I got it back... Now I have a box with a return address on it... There's a lot of dog shit in the area...

I meant the pothole for being nasty and hurting your wheel, show it who's boss!
-
I've been nice and polite about it, offered free parts (that I forgot to stick in the car when I sold it), other than that he can blow me, bored of hearing about it! It needs £50 worth of bushes not a re-shell and an engine rebuild!

This just in - Apparently, Oil cooler leaking Bottom ball joints shot CV boots split Prop bearings shot PAS pump leaking Water leak (split hose and hole in rad) Rag wrapped around FMIC pipe work? Dead rev counter (that he killed) Which now I've typed it out isn't that bad of a list considering I've offered him a radiator free gratis, have got an E30 cooler I'd let go and most of the rest is just annoying jobs that don't cost a lot really...

Apparently so, and she is piiiisssssed! Today he's had it up on ramps to look for a mystery knocking/banging (that has 100% honestly started since handing over the keys) and he wants to ring for a chat, told him I'm at work and can't talk. If he continues to message me I'll tell him to spend some of the £700 he negotiated off the price or use some of the £100's worth of spares I included to sort it out, the f*** do people want when buying a used car privately?! He had every opportunity to inspect it, invited him to put it on ramps, he test drove it and paid me money on that basis...?!
