  1. The travelling part is fine, sleeping in the camper is lovely it's the settling in places for a few months to work that breaks me, can't really live in a camper in the cities. Hopefully have a house by the end of the week anyway.
  2. In more first world problem hostel news we have a kiwi guy who has recently arrived in our 6 bed dorm, I've heard unsilenced diesel engines breathe quieter than his snoring. Tends to come in at around 4-5am then quickly get to snoring loud enough to wake the rest of the room up, tonight though he's brought a girl back with him! Out of spite for the inconsiderate cunť I insured he didn't get laid by being blatantly awake Can't wait to hear what a great nights sleep he got some time after 2pm again. I cannot wait to get the f**k out of hostels, looking at houses this (next) week, see if I can find a selfish flat mate to bitch about again instead. I hate people.
  3. Where is the clunk coming from? Do the wheels still point in the directions they should? Has there been any kind of symptom besides the noise? Has the noise just appeared or grown over time? Is it getting worse? Does the steering feel notchy as the clunk occurs? Is that getting worse? Have you checked anything whatsoever in the general steering component areas before continuing to use the car? Have you Googled it? Could be any of the steering or nearby components on the info provided
  4. Have you looked how much it would be worth? Because it's nowhere near Silvia money.
  5. This. I always say gift or +3%, and as a rule of thumb, a buyer who won't go for either of those is a c unit as well.
  6. Was it eBay? They force the seller to pay for return post too Although you may be shit out of luck if he specified collection only...
  7. I caught myself in chinos (work trousers), large trainers and my tatty jumper that looks like a charity shop reject, lusting after a single speed earlier... ...I've gone wrong
  8. Look on the bright side, it would have been twice as expensive if you'd gone with your original plan of getting it stripped
  9. My mates have just bought a MK1 MX5 between 3 of them to turn into a drift missile one of whom already owns one himself My mums got a MK2, fancy one with 6 gears and an LSD, it's so much fun to drive! In Australian car news (can't remember if I already posted) I sorted our Hilux out, turns out the fuel pump was trying to escape, which was messing all the timing up and just making it a general noisy bitch. Bolted back as it should be, absolutely spot on
  10. I know nothing about antiques, what I see there is something that would take up space that could house car parts Cool though nonetheless
  11. I get that retro stuff is cool, but wtf would one do with something that big and outdated?
  12. I hope you told the garage to not fanny arse around stripping the old one?
  13. I'd expect to be saving around £100 on that
  14. Are you guys just using compare sites or what?
  15. You're being screwed there mate, shop around harder!
  16. Oof, that's really wank! Losing the car aside, they didn't even stop to see if you were ok, pretty low! I assume you've reported it? If you have a description of the car and driver then you never know, the police might get off their arses and do something (unlikely). After reporting it, go and put a bunch of flowers where you came off, might encourage the c*nt to own up. Are you fully comp? The other driver probably didn't have insurance to claim from in any case.
  17. I haven't once (in the last 5 years at least) received a renewal letter with a price lower than the previous year, always £10-200 higher than the previous year. If you phone them up and say wtf then they always drop the price considerably. I guess they make a lot of money out of people who don't pay attention, assume that the renewal quote is the best deal and let it roll over.
  18. Pay me £300 and I can tell you it's f**ked from here, really don't waste the money... Just literally swap a stock engine in like for like, bolt anything you've done so far to it and worry about stage upgrades later, your wallet will thank you for it and you'll have a car to drive in the mean time.
  19. And then your housemates (parents) come home from work to be greeted with your shit that you often enjoy. But it's ok because you'll (intend to, or not) clean it up in the morning/whenever suits you, right? Remember how annoyed you get over something as trivial as the oven being turned down... You are what's wrong with house shares/other humans.
  20. Dannnn, ask if your mother would be surprised to lose a race against your car. Also you are the prìck who will make a house share unbearable based on that. Ash, personally I'd just stick any old scrap yard lump in for now, just write down and/or photograph the mileage of both if it's a concern and get a high performance lump build going as well for the future. £100 scrappy engine + labour (or DIY) will work out about the same as (or massively cheaper than) paying somebody to pull the head off to tell you it's f**ked and recommend a new engine at mechanic rates.
  21. They surprise nobody, everybody knows approximately how fast a sporty Clio is
  22. That's a lie, you f**king love that car
  23. Because VAG blinkers, banter, internet, the lols, I like winding you/Clio (and Honda, although Honda's are actually shit) boys up, take your pick, I don't really give a f**k what other people drive I'm quite sure every car in this thread would outperform my Hilux/camper in every department bar liveablity
  24. The guy dropped a spark plug/cylinder/engine not his brain?!
  25. Pay is loads higher (min wage is ~£8), beer is about double, fuel is half, groceries about the same, rent in a share house we were paying £100/week give or take
