I've considered bmx bars with a front load stem on my console but never pulled the trigger.
-
If you're riding brakeless a bmx with a low gear would kick ass. If you want to run brakes though, the arcade is far superior. Disks are way better for street than u-brake or v.

My personal favourite edit I've made is "More Shaka Less Pogo," or "You Cool Man?", because I broke all the rules Just do what you love man! You got some sick parks, I'd be cruisin them and learning all sorts of weird tricks. Weirder the better. Candybar crankflip manual to fufanu to sidelander.

Tips from a failure (me) on how to be pro: -Only do tricks that will look impressive to other people. Drops, flips, and fj tailwhips. They must look very dangerous for you to get any attention. Lines must be 20ft in the air. -Include long scenic intros in all your videos, panoramic views and drones are good too, with some slow-mo HD footage of you just riding down a street or doing a wheelie. Actually, just make the whole video on top of a mountain or something. Don't forget to gopro everything. -Use pop music. Anything edgy and cool will not be enjoyed by the most people possible. -Have as many sponsor logos as possible in the video, even if all they did for you is give you stickers for 10% off. This will make you seem even more pro. -Follow up your viral video with behind the scene edits.

Those bar turns made me laugh and cringe at the same time. At 2:32 for example. Trial style at its finest. People will love this, as proven by his gigantic list of sponsors.

I knew this edit wouldn't be for everyone, which is why I also put out the raw clips on youtube. Play whatever music you like to it. I am poking a bit of fun at the current wave of videos I've been seeing. Glad most people are liking it!

That will be super hard! I had issues with the cranks always spinning with the one in the video. If you watch, I had to do a very small pedal kick, then delay the whip a bit with a no footer and kick it late, just so that the cranks would stay level. Most of the crashes were due the cranks. I also have a bunch of tape wedged in there. Still worth a go though

How is it for barspins with the short wheelbase? Any foot clippage? I like how trials companies are using some newer mtb technology. Through axle, tapered headtube, nice.

I've been posting a lot lately. I've never been good at sitting on footage. I'm stoked on this one though! Time for a break from filming I think. The pure trials riders might enjoy this one.

Koxx on back I think with light grind and light tar. Cheap crap on the front with a little tar. I was light so the front brake didn't need to be strong. Also had plasmatic pads but they weren't as good.

Holy crap. I found this while cleaning out my cd rack. This stuff scares me even now. I did one of the drop gaps the other day thinking it might be a banger for my next video. Looks like I need to do something bigger now... Pure TGS from 2004.

I used to hate on street trials. I thought it was bad BMX combined with poor trials. After overdoing the trials training, and playing on the BMX for a few years, I lost that elitist mentality. I don't care how high I can hop anymore. I prefer to find new things to do. The street trials bike is something I never focused on, which has allowed me to do lots of new things. That's all this is. It's me trying to find a new way to have fun. That said, I may make a comeback to competition trials at some point. I might put brakes on the street trials bike. I might even run a steel frame with a front suspension fork and go full Ryan Leech (if only a frame like that existed, I'd be all over it, hint ). When riding is no longer feeling new, I change it up. Yesterday I learned an oppo 360 1 foot flattie on my bmx. It was great.

Mostly new footage. You may recognize some clips from Choose your Weapon. I felt like a full trials (or not trials, depending what you think of the riding) video was needed. So here it is:
-
I found flyout to be the best way to get them consistent. You have more time so you can slow them down and get them just right. Hop bars and flyout bars feel different, but a hop bar down a set, or a truck, or any big variation should feel slower like a flyout bar. I like the seat high, personal preference. I also like how the bike looks and feels with it up. More like a regular bike than a scooter.

When I had both brakes on, I would run the levers far in on the bar, and let go of them if I were to bus it. Throwing them (not bus) with fingers on is fine. I learned that when I did the nose stall bar to fakie on top of a bench. Ender in this :

Hey, With street riding becoming so popular, I've found it interesting that so few riders are throwing the bars. The combinations that are possible in trials lines are largely un-done. I have a few up my sleeve for later. So, I made a how-to. This was also asked of me in my last how-to thread. This could also be a dream-barspin-combo thread. What would Danny do if he were as good at bars as he is at backwards nose manuals.

http://www.pinkbike.com/video/422044/ Chill rides with a camera in my pocket lead to this. Something for everyone in this, I think. Lot's of leftovers (mostly on the inspired) to come.

Yeah a 3rd and 2nd in 2008 I think, Italy. Then the bad luck hit. Injury, sickness, and frame snaps kept me from completing a single world cup. Throw in some mental issues and immaturity on top of that and it explains why I quit for a while. Now if I compete, it will not be to win. That mindset, for me, brings no happiness. Stoked everyone has enjoyed this video! I took a bit of a break after making it (rode some MTB), but I think I'll get back on it a bit now. Maybe some more footage to come.

haha, I stole a trick from his video, the manual to run to manual, so I figured I'd give him a shout out. Sign of respect.
-
I tried it like the 180 version too but never got enough spin. I still stalled out the 3 a bit, but even if I missed the pole I would still get close to landing it. Speed fixed it for me.
-
Thanks Mark! The bars are full width. I would cut them a bit, but with brakes on there isn't enough room. Yes, I am planning on running brakes again some day. My other project (I have a couple minutes of footage from the past month) is all brakeless, but with a bit more trials influence than this video. I wish I could have 2 bikes, one with brakes and one without. All the BMXy stuff is so much more fun sans brakes, but I miss the set-ups I can ride with brakes. Brakes are also better for demos. The inspiration to go brakeless for now was made easy by blown pistons and wrecked fingers from catching levers on barspins. For the 360 nose-bonk, go faster than you want to and spin for a hop 360. If you can hop 3 you can do this trick, you just need to time it right.

I've been sitting on a lot of footage because I've been sick for a long time. Today was the first day I felt healthy enough to get back to riding. It was raining, so I couldn't go film the stuff that I wanted to for my other project. I still got out to the canopy to ride under cover.
