  1. I'm 5'7" and have the long, 1090. It suits me well and it is sooooo much easier to do everything on than my old 1016 evolve. Good choice!

I was the first trials rider in my area. When some street riders saw me they liked what they saw so now there are a few more trialsers to ride with. I'm sure they will inspire more people as well. It is growing where I am.
  3. Wow  Lets see a flip on UCI stock bike. Is that even possible??
  4. Yes, the gears must all be functional. This means you need a working shifter and cable. I think gears on a trials bike are pointless. Since when are stock bikes stock anyways. Single speeds should be allowed in competitions.
  5. Loved it! You are an inspiration to me James. Great riding from you and Phil.

    Pitbull James Vid

I am 5ft 7 inch and I have the long Pitbull. Sorry about the quality and the no sound. My camera is from the stone age. It is an old tape recorder camera. There are more vids to come....

    Pitbull James Vid

Wow thanks guys. It is my first editing project. I am happy with how it turned out. I have some footage from Toronto Ontario on rocks. It doesn't look as impressive but I will make a vid out of it anyways. How could I improve my editing for my next video? AndyT's videos are edited well aren't they? I should have a look at some of his videos.
  8. Hey, Here is my first video. It is 4.5 min long, 21mb and in wmv format. I shot at Queens University in Kingston. Let me know what you think. Are there any techniques that I should improve? What would you like to see more of? Link http://www.eengoedidee.nl/parsefile...ames_trials.wmv Thanks
  9. I'd say for a ridged forked bike 1000 to 1045 works best. If you use a suspension fork though a good length is 1020 to 1065. The fork adds wheelbase but the reach of the frame will be the same.
  10. Great video. A little short though. The new vinco looks so much nicer than the old one. I can't wait to see more!!
  11. Try it for sure. With your bar and stem set-up no spacers would still be plenty higher than most peoples. But for street high bars feel great. It depends on what you ride more.
  12. Today I went for another ride and guess what happened... I snapped another hanger. This time it wasn't even on a sidehop. I was setting up for a sidehop when the piece of wood I was on toppled over and hit my mech. Now I've snapped 2 in 1 day and 3 in a month. Just yesterday I received 3 hangers in the mail. I am down to my last one. Bad luck eh (Y) So now I'm going to try and reinforce my last hanger or go single-speed and run a tensioner off of the chainstays. Any suggestions?????????
  13. I guess I am just having some bad luck with hangers. Last year I only snapped one. It is time to learn how to be super smooth.
  14. In the last month I have snapped 2 mech. hangers. One last week and one today. It is really annoying. Both times were on sidehops. I ride left foot forward so I like to hop to the right side (more clearance). I was wondering how many hangers most people snap in a year. Also, has anyone snapped more than 1 in a day? Thanks.
  15. Taps get frustrating. On a vertical wall with a smooth concrete run up I can get 50 inches. On grass my record is 47 inches. I have been trying this tap for a few weeks now and I can't do it. It bugs me because I have landed it before and I have done higher. I am going to try it again today. The right conditions help a lot with taps.

    Cassettes

Road cassettes are the best because they are light, and have only 1 tooth separations between sprockets. This way you get the perfect gear ratio for each obstacle in a competition.
  17. I am 15. I have been riding for 3 years. Anyone know when some of the top pros started riding trials? I heard TRA started only a few years ago.
  18. Wow! Great bash guard. I would love to see a few different colours. There seems to be trials riders everywhere now. Nice to see you are promoting the sport, and fund raisers are awesome. Keep up the good work (Y)
