  1. i turn the bars into the leg on the same side as the hand i'm takin off. can stand right up then, and get a pretty good balance point while takin the hand off easier to spin the tyre with ur hand in this position too. BONUS!
  2. what worse than finding 5 babies in a bin? finding 1 baby in 5 bins wots red n gets smaller by the minute? a baby playing with a razor blade how do u fit 100 jews in a mini? 2 in the front, 2 in the back, and 96 in the ashtray :- (sorry) an englisman, a scotsman, and an irishman are sat at a bar with a pint of guiness each. 3 flies buzzin around the pub get too close, and one lands in each pint. the english man, disgusted pushes his drink away, sayin 'ain't touchin that now!' the scotsman says 'that pint cost me £2! iain't wastin it!' he fishes the fly out and carries on drinkin. the irishman peers into his glass, then slowly and carefully picks the little fly out by its wing, holds it up to eye level, and yells 'Spit it out, you b*****d!!!' off topic.... whats black and bangs on glass? a squirrel in a microwave (i love that one:p) back on topic... there's loads o jokes about americans and jews and blondes n asians, etc. do these other social 'groups' have jokes to take the piss out of average english people? any stereotypical assumptions that can be made fun of? smithy
  3. my girlfriend kisses her gf's quite a lot (under the influence usually) dunno whether i feel jealous, or turned on and i'm too scared to ask about a 'u know what' because she'll batter me! hahaha smithy
  4. my 2cents... extreme amounts of alcohol!!! haha. i liked this girl Simone. 6ft blonde, lovely smile, awesome girl, drinks like a fish........ anyways, knew her from college, but not all that well. then, by chance, met her in a club one night after about 8 pints. did the old 'i know u from college!' blah blah blah. bought her drink. ended up kissin her. just celebrated 18months together! and before this, i'd never really had a girlfriend. too shy :"> i say, just try catchin her alone, and say hello n find out a little about her. make it obvious ur into her, without bein too forward n scary (doesn't work, bin there) n ask if u cud meet up some time. she may tell u to take a runnin jump. but just maybe u'll end up with the most perfect person u've ever met....... i love u simone :- 'miffy
  5. helloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo? and again, if u can undo the bolt with a screwdriver (which has near zero leverage) how in the f**k did u round it off in the first place!? argh! i hate being a perfectionist (or do i just do things 'correctly'?) either way, usin the CORRECT tools eliminates any chance of wreckin other stuff. and generally, tools are cheaper than bike parts smithy
  6. tis weird with hope. my mate stripped his ratchet ring in 3 months. mine lasted 20 months. replacement is still goin strong. so my hope xc is nearly 2.5-3 years old now. and i'm gonna buy a new one soon. have no quarms about usin their kit, though i know people who have no faith in it whatsoever :) as for the skipping, only thing i can think of is bent/weakened springs. though mine r shot, the pawls engage individually (all three at different times!) yet it has only skipped on 1 occasion (that i can remember) since xmas, and that wasn't in a trials situation. i love my hope. in fact, i might just keep it, even though its dead! smithy
  7. brown bloxx. only pads i've ever used on agrind that worked :) n i've got the same set i bout bout 18months ago. just run a dash of tar now, but they still work effectively in the wet (though i try to avoid it :() smithy
  8. or it cud knacker the end of ur screwdriver, renderin it useless for, saaaaay, screwin screws? (i love u jaime) haha. if u do this, use an old one. but i'd love to know, if u can undo it with a screwdriver, how do u manage to round it off with an allen key? (N) smithy
  9. East Outs don't faff about. get some/one o these. makes the job far far easier. similar to a thread tapping tool, but with an anti-clockwise thread. so u drill a hole smaller in diameter than the bolt through the head downwards, and screw in the Easy Out until it gets to wide for the hole. keep twistin and it unscrews the bolt. saves u supergluin the bolt in by mistake, or meltin anythin tryin to weld somethin to the top. Easy peasy. i would get a set maself, but i don't round bolts of (N) smithy
  10. WTF!?!?!?!?! idiot ridiculously wrong errrrr, yeah (Y) smithy
  11. if ur runnin the kmc quick-link (like me)check its pins r pointing inwards (towards frame), as they can dig into the bashring causin chainsuck smithy
  12. to anyone in this situation, i recommend u get ur ankles sorted out first! i don't wanna quit trials, but after a couple o bad sprains, i sought advice from a physio. there are quite a few other riders (inc tarty) seein the same guy. the most ridiculuous reply possible if u wanna carry on ridin because ur ankles are so bad it don't do much damage anymore, wait til u totally shatter the bastards through lack of stability. then tell me it was worth a few weeks off gettin em fixed, while u roll around in ur wheelchair. look after ur bodies. trials is worth the effort of gettin urself fit to carry on with it. but not worth riskin ur ability to live a fulfilling life past the age of 30. slord@hotmail.com for the physio. he is a top guy, and i'm sure u'll get many good references if u ask around. has worked wonders on mine :- smithy
  13. Ginster's Golfish pastie? i'm sure they cud manage somthin within ur sponsorship deal, tarty boy! smithy
  14. none if ur sneeky :)" imagin landin a harrier on ur drive every evenin. jumpin out in ur suit, with ur briefcase. wave to the neighbour washin his ford focus :) pop into halfords at the weekend. 'do you stock a turbine propshaft for a ........ jet engine?' 'errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, what year of registration, sir? i'll just have a look on PTS' n i bet u can't get a bike rack to fit on the back. smithy
  15. ring hope on tuesday, then u can update us all :) www.hopetech.com they told me end of may a while back, but have also heard its gonna be after summer from some retailers. god knows. just gonna get an xc for now. unless its gonna be out SOON!!! smithy
  16. if u have an internal headset (its inside the headtube of the bike) which i think is corrent for the t10, then u can't jus stick a hope headset in. u can only run internal ones (don't think u can get converters?) just stick with the original unless its broke. anyways, all the above suggestions are good. get good advice before buyin stuff, as its very easy to waste money on crap that u don't need, or wudn't want if u knewabout it! smithy
  17. i know the feelin mate. had a really good year last year. my ridin came on leaps n bounds. in september, the week before goin uni, i snapped ma bars and dislocated my thumb. took me a couple o weeks to sort out ma bars and even longer for ma thumb to feel right again! then struggled to get back into it over winter, what with rubbish weather and havin to 'learn' to ride again in crap conditions. then snapped ma forks just as the weather was comin nice again! so had to wait several weeks tryin to sort out receipts and bank statements so i could claim a warranty pair. then, the day they arrived at the shop, i went out ridin with the spare set i borrowed off ma mate, and snapped ma bb n fractured my ankle!!! now, 5 weeks on, i'm on the road to recovery, and hope to be trialsin when i go back home in a couple o weeks. gonna pick up ma new forks (finally) this week, and get a new rear hub before ridin through summer, just to try avoid any nasty suprises:p look out for the stoke trials massive rippin it up this summer! hopefully a vid or two, showcasin some awesome riders and quality guys. altho our rides usually degenerate into shits n giggles after an hour or two, and no1 can ride anyway! smithy
  18. yeah, jaime. usually, there's just one piston, which pushes the disc onto the other (fixed) pad? not havin a mono trial myself, i don't know if it is 2 pot, but if one doesn't move at all, i'm guessing its single pot. so sounds like u need to move the caliper out board a little more, so the fixed one is closer to the disc. if the mono's have auto pad wear adjust, then i'm guessin thats y the piston is staying out so far. the amount of travel makes the brake think the pads are worn anyways, good look. avids rule!!!!!!!!! smithy
  19. jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez get a room u 2!!!!! just make sure the babby ain't ginger. can't have the vermin multiplyin now, can we! smithy
  20. looks cool man. all them squiggles would add a bit to production costs though. would be difficult to extrude tubes like that. smithy
  21. www.yell.com search for bearing specialists in ur local area. i've always found em to be cheaper, and generally have everythin in stock. just take ur bearings to them, and they can specify replacements (Y) smithy
  22. nice one will. was a good watch! obviously got the sidehops dialled. well, better than i have anyway (Y) i'm sure me n the stoke massive would be up for a blackpool ride end o june! smithy
  23. go ronnie. nice n deep, so resists flat spots really well (or so i've found) and make sure aits built nice n tight, and retensioned after bedding in. unless u get some one who can pretension spokes properly (Y) smithy
  24. jeez, a voice of reason! is it only people who have been into bikes in fields other than trials for more than 2 years that know magura brakes aren't trials specific? or know anything about hydraulic brakes? if water was the best thing to put in maguras, they wudn't have put oil in them, would they?! and y don't disc brakes on cars and motorbikes and mtb's all use water instead? argh! almost as annoyin as those b*****d ringtones....... sorry, i feel old and grumpy now smithy
  25. nah! go dx32 on the front!!! i run a wider front rim than rear rim!!! (38 rear, 40mm front  ) massive front rims rule!!! get a sweet 2.3 tyre on it, and reap the rewards. and if u mention weight, i'm gonna cry.... performance to weight ratios matey! thats where its at! smithy
