As a note, Donington is a 'premium' track, you can do a track day at somewhere like Blyton Park, near Gainsborough (which arguably is a better venue for a first timer) for ~£119. Good stuff, that's what it's all about! Sweet, still very tempted, got an endurance race in a couple of weeks though so will see how that goes first...

The amount of lever travel should be the same as the front, if not then something's not right.

I do know what you mean - that is 'fixed' on open system brakes, you can't change it unless you have a lever with bite point adjustment. This distance is also affect by brake setup (parallel rotor, pads the same distance from both pads, etc).

There's no tricks to bleeding them, but you must bleed them 'properly' - that is, as Hope say, not like a Shimano or other brake:

Maybe if the car weighs loads and has lots of suspension travel you need something special, but I'm pretty sure mild will be fine. Have bought steel anyway, will do the calculations later

Its pretty simple, just a bent bit of bar if you think about it. There's some maths involved but nothing too tricky. The last one I made was straightforward (will find a link if I can), but the plan is now to make a pair of bladed ones. Removed anti roll bars from my car, definitely has more grip, awesome! Little bit unresponsive during direction changes though, so time to make some which are a more suitable stiffness...
