  1. Dunno how much it matters to you guys but... check the date stamps before buying from Tyreleader. They will be on the sidewall, 4 digits, first two are the week number and the last two are the year. Anything over a couple of years old will tend to be pretty hard and may start to crack before you wear the tread out. Stack em high, sell em cheap...
  2. That is very strange. As you said though, a 'slower' car is a great way to learn to drive faster, as you can't rely on power. Shame Curby isn't a 'proper' track, still should be fun though
  3. Tis a beltin track. Y U so slow? I'm there 13th March, then first race of the season is there on 28th March.
  4. Perfect location but a bit pricey... I do have an 'up to £200' voucher with CD though...
  5. Camskill are very efficient, and have found garages happy to take £40-50 of your money for less than an hour's work! They prefer it if you take just the wheels though, for obvious reasons.

    Films!?

The Riot Club - waste of time. 50 Shades - boring. I love films, lol.
  7. Sweet. Here's what I have and what I'm after inc postage. Obviously cheaper for 2 sets due to shipping cost and a deal such as the Nankangs and set 1 and 2 of the Feds for £250. 4x Nankang NS2Rs, 120 treadwear (soft), £140 (~£70 each new with about 6mm of tread). Tread depths (in mm, starting left to right on the photo, left shoulder at 75% width, centre, right shoulder at 75% width): 3.5 - 4 - 2.5, 2.5 - 4 - 3.5, 3.5 - 4.5 - 2.5, 2 - 4.5 - 3.5. 4x Federal RSR-585s (Set 1), £130 (~£65 each new with about 6mm of tread). Tread depths: 3.5 - 4.5 - 5, 3 - 4.5 - 4, 3 - 4 - 4, 3.5 - 4 - 4. 2x Federal RSR-585s (Set 2), £40 (or can do them as a deal if you have any of the others) Tread depths: 2.5 - 3.5 - 3, 2.5 - 3.5 - 3 4x Federal RSR-585s (Set 3), £100. Tread depths: 4.5 - 4 - 3, 3.5 - 3.5 - 2.5, 3 - 4 - 3.5, 3 - 3 - 2.5. Someone else has said he'll have 2 sets but not which ones exactly and hasn't replied after I sent pics, tread details and prices an hour or so ago.
  8. Got a load of 195/50/15 Federal RSR595 and Nankang NS2R track tyres to shift, all still have enough tread to be road legal. Will be somewhere around £15-30 each depending on how many you have, if you want them posting, exactly how much tread is left, etc. If anyone would like more details give us a shout
  9. Yup that's the way it works. We'll split into 2 or 3 equal groups as well, for the reasons mentioned earlier. Dan, if you haven't already paid for your geo and corner weighting and you fancy saving some money give me a shout. I could do your geo FOC if you paid mates rates for the corner weighting On a similar note, in case anyone's thinking of getting the bug and wants some tyres... http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/174368-the-car-thread/?p=2625673
  10. Good feedback so far. Echo don't make TR rims any more.
  11. The joys of old cars without those shitty f**king 'break if you try to take them off' trim clips!
  12. That is very strange. Definitely done something wrong there You got camber bolts on the front? Or do the shocks allow adjustment? I'd offer to do it on the day but it would be a hassle, welcome to come over one evening though if you want? No worries Mike I'll bring all my geo-ing kit along then, haha, sounds like I'll be busy
  13. You will have more camber - win - and more toe out - also win. Can bring my tracking gauge if you want to check.
  14. Douglas Booth from The Riot Club (couldn't find a great picture but you will know what I mean when you see it!): Ash Kennard:
  15. This. Look forward to seeing it at Curby!
  16. You already know my answer
  17. Can't see why it would only send a signal to one of them... Multimeter to check if there's current getting to the motor on both calipers?
  18. http://www.pistonheads.com/GASSING/topic.asp?h=0&f=23&t=1297451&nmt=07+VW+Passat+stuck+parking+brake Sounds like it could be a faulty switch, a buggered caliper or a sticky motor... Something to try... "Rare, great advice from the stealer to unstick it, was to stand very hard on the footbrake, with engine running (I guess for additional servo assist) and try to disengage handbrake. It worked !"
  19. Strange - a couple of times they've been the only ones who'd provide sensible quotes for me! Guess you just have to shop around...
  20. That is very odd. Must be a lot of those cars written off / stolen, I guess... Try Heritage? http://www.heritagecarinsurance.co.uk/- they'll do a 'classic' policy on cars over 10 years old apparently...

    Gu 26''

The O Rings on the bleed screws can get damaged by the threads over time. My guess is that the levers you bought have had the bleed screw in and out a few times, hence the issue. Buying from an official dealer you get at least one spare O ring in the box for this exact reason.
