  1. Its a lot of things, but its certainly not that There are lot of factors, but just pick somewhere in an area you think is alright, in a house / flat you like, is within budget and crack on. Its the only way you'll find out what you prefer / like!
  2. Currently have booked... Friday 4th September, Anglesey, & Saturday 3rd October, Blyton.
  3. I reckon next spring then, or maybe all turn up to a proper track day over winter somewhere?
  4. You could always bump it Cars on the dyno today, all going well until the operator stalled it and now it won't start again. Great...
  5. Nobody replied to the thread which has a list of new proposed dates!
  6. Then have a go in a RWD car and realise they are miles better
  7. Nearly http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/188578-jack-pyle-open-my-present/ Definitely get your point, very few people riding brakeless consistently now
  8. I wouldn't say the only guy, but he has definitely taken it furthest IMO! Mega, mega video...
  9. It's a bit turd on something without much processing power, seems to be quite 'intensive', but fine on this PC
  10. Or just leave the Audi alone
  11. You really need a second car George...! Stop ploughing money into a family hatch and get something which you can tinker with to your heart's content and that's actually fast
  12. Ooohhhh, apologies, I missed the point there. I would completely agree with the above! In that respect, a less grippy car will always be more fun too*, as the transitions between grip and slip will come and go more slowly. *Providing the handling is balanced.
  13. Hmm, I've found the limit varies wildly between different cars and how they are set up if they are the same model. Examples: Normal family saloon won't pull more than about 0.9g before it starts to understeer like a canal boat, standard MX5 on road tyres will pull about 1.1g, slap some better shocks, geo, lower it and track tyres and you'll touch 1.4g. Well set up kit car on slicks, 1.6-1.7g. Big difference in cornering speeds there! The Trophy dampers are pretty posh, those alone will make it significantly quicker than a standard one. Still, they are a lot of money for what they are, I'd defo have one over a standard 172/182 if they were the same price though!
  14. I don't think that necessarily means you're depressed... But I can see the links.
  15. Looks pimp, but 1) I know nothing about those and 2) I would never buy a car like that. A lot to possibly go wrong and complicated to fix if it does. Personally would grab something non turbo and petrol, even though it would be ~10mpg less.
  16. Great stuff, that's good to hear Had a load more calls this morning asking about the training, trials riders and their mums & dads must be the most last-minute people on the planet Shows there is interest though, so we would definitely like to do the same thing again and tie it in with a competition, like this time.
  17. Looks pretty lean... although if they are tailpipe figures then you can usually subtract 0.5 points (ish - which is richer), in which case it looks decent.
  18. As long as there's not quarter of an inch of standing water, the track tyres are actually surprisingly good.
  19. For wet track days just use your road wheels / tyres - you'll learn loads. The crossover point is because of different scaling down the right. The Dastek rollers are pretty 'good' numbers from what I can tell, more likely to be accurate but not where you'd go if you want to make a certain number
  20. Don't stop just because it gets a bit miserable, winter track days are the best!
  21. Is that was it says in the manual? "Torque: f**king tight."
  22. That is impressive - I've never encountered a bolt so stuck before! Hope you can get it sorted the 'deep end' way...!
  23. Tried a breaker bar, Luke?
  24. Tried a blow torch? If you directly heat the head until it glows a bit, then smash it with a hammer, should free it up.
