  1. Yep, which leads to longer wheelbase... :-
  2. The height is the main issue when fitting a Control booster to a mod bike though, theres a height dimension there too :-
  3. Nah, its not - measure it on your screen :- Question for you - do you understand what 'head angle' means?
  4. Theyre the stiffest alloy booster available. However, it might not fit your frame/tyre. Have a look at the dimensions on our website to check :- Adam
  5. On the left we have an Ashton... and on the right we have a Zoo 1065. The red line is what I call the 'reach' - this is the distance from the BB shell (where your feet attach to the frame) to the top of the head tube (where your hands attach to the frame). The green line is wheelbase. As you can see on the right hand frame, the head angle is shallower - ie. the forks stick out more (exaggerated on this picture though). So... even though the red line (reach) is longer on the left hand frame... the wheelbase is shorter, since the head angle is steep. If you could measure from the centre of the BB shell to the centre of the top of the head tube on your Ashton, I can do the same on a Pitbull 1065, and from that its possible to work out what length/rise stem would be needed to make the bike 'feel' the same. Hope that makes sense :- Adam
  6. I can't speak for Supercycles, sorry, but your idea sounds like it would work, yep!
  7. Mike's not as sad as us though, doesn't spend his life on Trialsforum :D Best bet would be to ring 1st thing in the morning Will :D
  8. Your Ashton had a 74 degree head angle. The Zoo frames have a 71 degree head angle. So, the forks 'stick out more' - even though the wheelbase is longer, your bars are closer to your feet, which makes it ride shorter :- Therefore, the best measurement to use for comparing reach, is from the centre of the BB shell to the top of the head tube (in my opinion) - since this is where the contact parts of your bike are connected.

    Food

Spaghetti on toast :D Much better now!
  10. Yeah, thats a slight issue, but the shock from the impact is what helps.
  11. Yeah, I've never found a chain whip to do the job really :P Needs heat too Will. Im not sure the 'fixed rear wheel' idea would work either - the trick is to 'shock' the sprocket loose. Check my link a couple of posts up :D Adam
  12. How thick is the bashring at the base? How much is the freewheel rubbing by? (approx)
  13. Onza have run out of those brakes... you'll have to wait a couple of months before they are available again in that case :D Another option would be to upgrade to something like a Hope. Adam
  14. Onza have run out of the Magura front brakes, so no bikes have been supplied with this brake for at least a few weeks, and probably won't be for weeks to come. The spec has now been altered to include the Avid Cable Disc, which as many people will agree, is an awesome brake. Any questions, feel free to give us a shout. Cheers, Adam
  15. I would say the ZOO! stem. Its a lower rise than the Echo stem, in order to match the bars... which in turn, have a higher rise than the Echo ones!
  16. Very true! Didn't claim my photoshop effort to be anything geometrically sound though. It does look a little less 'different' with normal stays, however. I can't say I'm a big fan (at the moment - it may grow on me) of the way that proto looks, but the claimed advantages seem like they may outweigh the disadvantages :P Good work!
  17. And one green and one white brake pad... photoshopping methinks (Y)" Either way, looks mint, ordering tonight :)
