How are you fitting the tyres? Edit: That video, its a really sharp wall, and you hit it pretty hard on one sidewall only... can't really expect it to stand up to that? Maybe try some different tubes...

Check the BB and pedals are nice and tight - that will most likely be the cause

Good reliable parts you're looking at there, can't fault any of them really! As long as all threads/tapers are kept tight (including checking for the first few riders) they'll last ages. The bashring is held on by the screw-on sprocket, yes. If you go ahead, make sure you fit the sprocket with grease or anti-sieze - will make it much easier to get off in future! Cheers Adam

That one only fits with Headshox steerers Theres a lot of stems around you could try - have a look for a Profile Stiffy, I had one a while back and it was super, loads of options on sizes too. Ads

Unfortunately it sounds like there is air in the system from the bleed... But check all the fittings for leaks - for air to go in, fluid has to come out. Try standing the bike on the rear wheel and get a mate to tap all the hoses and cylinders while you're pushing the fluid through (this releases any trapped air - common when you've fitted new hose)... that should help Ads

Haha, if only Like Paul says, there are lots of 'hidden' charges. Bringing in a couple of bits for you and your mate usually slips the net, but its suprising what sort of taxes are stuck on bike parts. Then of course there's warranties to cater for, and we need to work in a sufficient margin to allow the parts to be offered to other retailers at trade price - in fact its an identical situation to other companies who import, distribute and retail components, trials or otherwise. The Echo brakes also have kevlar re-inforced hose (much tougher than plastic - more like the black Hope hose seen on their older brakes). It does sound pricey, but people regularly spend a very similar amount on a front disc brake without complaining... this is the first rim brake to apply similar manufacturing process and materials to those used in disc brakes. The HS33 brakes use much poorer material and a manufacturing process prone to weaknes. The price may come down in time, who knows, but I would at least give the brakes a chance before writing them off as 'too expensive'. Even if they last as long as a Magura, but are more reliable (no more cracked levers/stripped threads to end your ride and waste a train fare!) then I think they'll be well worth it. Look forward to having a good look at one and getting some detailed pics for everyone to have a look at Ads

Neil's a great wheelbuilder with lots of experience for XC and road, but I wouldn't say his builds are up to trials. Like has been said, grab yourself a spoke key - will save a lot of hassle, time and money in the end! Adam

The Monty '221 ti' chains are basic XC chains (to save weight), no stronger than any other. We do have KMC Kool chains in stock.

The Vee pads are designed for and work best on smooth rims, but still wear and perform well on grinds.

They do indeed. The colour does, but they're completely different to Coust pads in terms of performance.
