  1. That would be no problem providing the ZOO headset is 'as new' Ads
  2. We have arranged with Bruno for TartyBikes to be exclusive UK distributor for the Ozonys brand. Bruno will be over here 17th/18th March for some riding and business. Also see Shipley Glen ride topic: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=93612 Cheers Adam

    Quick One

I have been informed in the past and read that it is 2 degrees (ISIS 1 degree for the fact-hunters out there) but haven't got the stuff to measure right now... If I get a few mins after work I'll get my trig hat on and play with some maths

JIS appears to be 1/2" (all the caliper measurements I'm getting are around 12.72mm), but not got any ISO BBs here. Ads

I think Sheldon might have the answer... If its of use there are no trials cranks that I can think of to use the ISO taper!
  6. The original T1000 is already sold out throughout Europe, there will be no more of that model made.
  7. They do indeed... just to make things more confusing for you Value for money, the DX32 is my recommendation. For strength the Echo rim wins. Try-All 47mm if you want a wide, light rim for competition-type use. Revell if you want a Try-All thats a bit stronger. Try-All 42mm if you want something a bit wider than a DX32 but still really tough! Hope that helps, Adam
  8. Hello people, Anyone fancy riding Shipley Glen on Saturday 17th March? We'll be looking to get there for around 12 noon. For starters there will be Stan, Ali C, Tarty Dave, Myself and ex World Champion Bruno Arnold of http://www.ozonys.com present, plus whoever else wants to come along - the more the merrier! We're planning a big street ride on the Sunday too, but the venue is still to be decided... if anyone has suggestions for somewhere that's got plenty to ride and not too strict on security that would be great Hopefully see you there! 9. We have seen this a few times - usually the customer explains to the insurance company that Wheelies are unable to offer a bike comparable in spec to that stolen. From there, a full spec of a replacement bike can be drawn up by a trials store (basically a quote to replace what was stolen). After that, your insurance company will go about trying to find these parts from their usual suppliers, however they always fail due to trials products being so specific - this usually results in you being sent a cheque If you want any more help then just give me a shout Cheers Adam
  10. Claimed by Monty - yes, measured on digital scales - no. As said, the only difference we can fathom is the graphics, which are mightily complex and pricey compared to the old laser etched ones!
  11. The rims on that bike are Try-All, our site lists Echo, however:
  12. We already offer that as a service. Free smooth rim brake pads (Rock Vs on V brake bikes, Rock Greens on Magura-equipped bikes) with every complete bike, as Danny said That's the best solution we could come up with. I certainly wouldn't wanna be grinding a customer's rim without their full approval! See above. Cheers for the info Paolo, seems like there are small links - I don't spend as much time grinding aluminium as some people will (welders etc) but I don't wanna be taking any chances! In a typical week I'll probably spend around 30 mins grinding rims, the charges we apply through our website are to cover new discs, eye protection and dust masks. I'm sure there must be some health consequences from inhaling anodising powder too... It certainly makes a right mess of our unit, even the guy round the front of the building who makes ironmongery for a living was shocked at the dust the Echo rims give off! Adam
  13. I think people are comparing the price to 'what you can get them for from the USA'. Obviously that should be subject to customs fees, duty and VAT, making the imported King headset much nearer the UK price. Either way, I can't afford a King, so I'll be popping a Tensile in my headtube, they look extremely well made with good tolerances (digital calipers ) and the spec is very impressive for the price. Adam
  14. Depending on the gear ratio you want to run, something like a DMR Revolver hub and an ACS freewheel is a very cheap yet very tough solution (you can pick up both those items for around £45 including postage!). It would mean running 22-18, however that's a pretty good gear ratio - check the number of teeth on your current drive sprocket. If you're running something like a 20T on the back at the moment, then it would be worth sticking a 20T on your cranks (making your ratio 20-18) and that would match pretty closely... Anyway, I'm waffling now, but you don't specifically need a freewheeling rear hub to ensure a durable and pretty lightweight setup Hope that helps Adam
  15. 9.95mm on the Tensile, FSA Pigs are 12mm bottom and 10mm top.
  16. Have a look up a few posts Deonn, it appears the British Biketrial Committee have voted to abolish the gear rule for this year's nationals? At least that's what I can gather.
  17. They need much longer than that to bed in - even when set up perfectly flat they'll need a few weeks... Glad to hear you're liking the RimJams though!
  18. Looking good, always liked red, white and black together! What do you think of the rear brake pads? (When you haven't got tar on the rim)
  19. All sounds very interesting... is there anyone who can confirm all this? It would be nice to have everything that has happened out in the open, like Joe says, the trials community has a right to know what's happening regarding the competitions they will be riding in this season!
  20. I'll try and do one this week sometime if I can find my video camera... theres a few differences between how AndyT and myself grind - my way takes off less material and makes the grind sharper (depending on the disc used anyway). Should be able to get some good pics as well
  21. Sorry if I wasn't clear - I meant the extrusion tool made to create the rim section. These are hugely accurate and there is next to no variation (any more than 0.05mm would suprise me) between rims - measure some next time you have a few of the same The only other place it can vary would be if the extrusion is cut to the wrong length, however on a 24" rim, cutting this piece of material long or short by even the massive amount of 5mm would only vary the ERD by 1.525mm! (So 0.75mm on each spoke.) I would estimate rim lengths are cut to within 1mm either way though. I've certainly never been given any problems by not measuring each and every rim I build anyway (Up to 20 in a busy week.)
  22. For 100% accuracy I would agree, but the tooling isn't gonna change so all rims of the same model will have the same cross section - and therefore ERD.
