The freewheels are completely different internally, yes, but the 20 spline removal method is the issue here. It has however been sold in the UK previously by AC though. Internally, the Echo freewheels seem to be identical to White Industries ENO Trials, and the performance of mine would certainly indicate that. Cheers Adam

http://oami.europa.eu/RCDOnline/RequestManager -> number 316534. The 'issue' is with the BB tool removal spline, of which the Echo should be clear of infringing Tensile's Registered Design. We would like to be certain before beginning to sell our stock of freewheels. Gives me a little time to test one though, so its not all bad!

Stiffer brake = less flex = more of the force you apply to the lever actually reaches the rim = better brake. Obviously removing a booster can allow more vibrations though, and sound is an important part of some rider's brakes - if it's quiet they reckon it doesn't work... But given the same setup, a brake with a booster added will work better than one without. There's loads of other variables though, setup, rider preferred lever feel... plenty more. But keeping everything else the same and just adding a booster will make the brake work better. Edit: IMO? Do I need that?

It depends on the venue usually Hugh, if there's not a huge amount to ride it can be 3 laps of 6 or 7, which is good when there aren't many entries. If there's loads to ride though (such as Bracken) or there are a lot of entries Dave usually sets out a couple of laps of 9 or 10 So basically, no set format, the comps are usually set up to give the best enjoyment for the conditions

Good lad bender, I'll be in Blue as well, should be fun! Sort your entry out now!

Haha, I remember making that avatar...

Awesome, thought it was... thanks for the info John - would be great if we could ride there!

Haha... I blame multimap Access from Dick Lane, would that be right?

Looks good, is that Earl Crag? Seen it a few times in the car but never ventured up for a close look...

They do, but why deliver to a 'normal' customer who hasn't paid extra when that might make a delivery late for someone who has paid ÂŁx extra? Hard to explain but hopefully that makes sense... haha

Large items are delivered by couriers, and couriers charge extra for morning deliveries. Smaller items on Royal Mail usually arrive in the mornings though...

Hey Ross, You need the curve as in the pic on our site - like you've said, bending the spring stops it from sitting correctly... It seems people are pushing too hard on the tensioner when setting it up, we've had a couple of people saying they have bent the springs... I'll add a note to our site now. Springs are available separately if you need them, but for now I'd try and bend them back straight, and then set the tensioner up without excess force. Hope that helps Ads Site updated: http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=10008

I also reckon that would make a positive change to how the bike rides - slightly higher at the front to make it easier to lit the front end, and a little longer to give you more room on the back wheel... The Pazzaz stem will be out of stock for a few months unfortunately, but the Simtra Re'Sy'Stem is another 31.8mm clamp stem with excellent geometry, worth a look Cheers Ads

In all honesty, if you use tar then all brake pads will do the same job... right from standard Magura black pads through to Rock Pads. The tar prevents the brake pad from actually touching the rim, its a barrier, so the compound of the pad is completely insignificant. Having said all that though, some people will say some pads 'take tar' better than others..!

The '07 has no 'side wings', it has a normal seat tube... all the 4 pics above of are '06 and '05 frames - the frame you have there is an '05 Shaun.

Rock Pads (Blue on a grind) for great performance wet and dry, RimJam V3s for dry weather (also give slightly stiffer lever feel due to the alloy backings, and they're LOUD!). If you don't ride in the wet then the Plaz CRMs are worth a look too - the compound has been unchanged for around 9 years and now and it's still amazing!

More pics: Fred gap to front wheel, didn't quite make it (its mahoosive!): Bruno sidehop to rear: Ali up to front wheel: Bruno rolling gap up to pointy bit: Bruno sidehop: Fred after skidding/bouncing down a big rock face and nearly dying Bruno dropgap to slanty rock: Bruno sidehop to hook: Stan dropgap (same as Bruno's one above): Stan... doing something: Bruno upping some slippery bits with a large drop to the right (see Alis rolldown pic further up): Wes Ettiene's Ozonys Cannibal 1.1: 1085, 385, +35, 1.75kg/3.86lbs - and still very stiff! Hope everyone else had a good day, was cool to meet some new people and ride some new bits (damn wind). Ads

11kg with heavy basher rear wheel, non ti pedal axles and non carbon stem, the other lighter rear wheel is significantly lighter!

New pics: Cheers Adam

If the disc mount is kept, it won't be that standard one if Ali and I have anything to do with it! I'm sure Ali or myself will keep everyone posted when there is more news

The graphics are just mock-ups, as is the colour. Geometry isn't much different, no, but the BB is around 15mm higher, and obviously the extra wheelbase changes things a lot. Last year's frames were 7005 (you can't weld 7075) and this prototype is U6. There is another 6061-T6 prototype being tested I believe. Disc mount was something Martyn asked us to check over, I think I will be recommending the non-disc versions of the dropouts instead. This is only a prototype frame and is set to be an additional model in the range to the 'standard' Justice (as far as I am aware).
