  2. We got some of the new GU frames in and thought it would be rather cool to build them up into a pair of 'little and large' twins... here's the result! 20" model with dual Hope brakes: Wheelbase: 1010mm Chainstay Length: 362mm BB Rise: 60mm Head Angle: 72 degrees Centre of BB shell to top centre of head tube: 615mm Weight: 9.92kg 26" model: Wheelbase: 1085mm Chainstay Length: 380mm BB Rise: 35mm Head Angle: 72 degrees Centre of BB shell to top centre of head tube: 680mm Weight: 10.48kg Hope you like! Adam
  3. Any M12 washer should do the trick, however the better solution of the two is to trim the axle a tad, as an extra washer will mean you have to pull the frame apart a bit to get the hub in.
  4. Yes and no... Since you don't hang onto the wheel axles, increasing the wheelbase (although making the bike itself longer) will not actually make the bike FEEL longer to ride, hence a new stem being the best way to make the bike feel bigger.
  5. New stem will make a huuggeee difference, how much steerer do you have?
  6. They are 4 bolt, it's Chris Walfords bike, we warrantied them (well, put the value of them towards some Trialtechs).
  7. http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?produc...category_id=119 Hard plastic insert, designed mainly for unicycles so you know they are tough as old boots!
  8. You may or may not have heard about Singletrack's 'Classic Weekender' event held last weekend at Lee Mill Quarry, but it was a rather different event where each rider competed in trials, XC and DH to find an overall 'champion'. Ali C was on top form in the DH, setting the fastest time by almost 2.5 seconds!! http://www.singletrackworld.com/2009/07/si...ays-dh-results/ The trials was too easy unfortunately which didn't allow either him or Stan (who also entered and came 25th in the DH) to shine fully, and it was left to the XC race to determine the overall results... Ali held on and managed 11th overall which I reckon is pretty impressive on a 14" frame with 70mm stem, haha. Some pics: http://www.singletrackworld.com/2009/07/si...der-the-photos/ Then, after the XC race, Ali competed in the British Round of the trials and won that too, go Ali! 10. I have no idea why someone would make that sort of bullshit up (I have checked)
  11. LOL, good to see my degree wasn't completely useless...
  12. In the interests of impartiality... you missed Trials Display
  13. They certainly do: PS: Smacking it between two flat things doesn't do anything, the rotor needs to go back past the elastic limit of the material to bend it back straight.
  14. Well not really, it just needs 2 new bearings, 1 of which will have been on the way out for a long time, giving the user a clue that they might wanna fix it before it became a bigger problem! The bearings you need are 6802s Adrian

    Pad Reviews

Just to add some info to this. Here is the picture we were sent: http://i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu203/p...ek/SNV31022.jpg You can see that the grind has a very nice texture but the pads aren't set up perfectly square which has caused the quick initial wear. Our reply was:
  16. The BAMs were only brought out in 98 and had blue adjuster knobs :wink2:
  17. Depends on which forks you have... If it's 6mm thick then there's no problem.
  18. That's how the 09 models are manufactured, we have them in stock and they'll be on the site soon. Bike looks awesome Kevin!!
  19. Forks are 97s, 100mm travel, dual coil/oil, a full service would have them like new again. Bloody ace forks! The disc mount is a bit weird though, they were designed for a number 4 Hope caliper (nowadays they use 5 and 3), which you could only get in C2 and O2 I believe, but I see you have a brake there to go with them so I think they would sell pretty well for oldskool value!
  20. Answered your own question there dude :wink2: Once the cups are properly tightened in, the bearings/axle will seat themselves.
  21. I used to drill the square corner features out of plastic backings, that means you don't need to modify the pad material But, as Le said, the complete pad is well worth having.
