Trials Event @ Cuerden Valley Park 22nd May 2010 (nw)

If it's being a pain email it across to me and I'll stick it on the Tarty server dude One thing to mention, I believe that everything will be FREE to ride! -
We have 2 of those frames for test and the other frame was used with Middleburns and a 20T ring up front (22T wouldn't clear), so it can work Cheers Adam

Cheers King... Tom, have a gander here: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....mp;highlite=%2B - anything you want let me know, should still have full res versions of them kicking about (approx 3500x2500 pix) Adam

Trials Event @ Cuerden Valley Park 22nd May 2010 (nw)

Just been down to the park to check it out (I walk my dog there so know it quite well but wanted to check out exactly what sort of space the trials stuff has...) and the area set aside for the trials is huge! The park overall is 700 acres which is pretty nuts, and there will be plenty of other stuff going on like paintballing, army assault course, climbing wall, wood carving, blacksmithing, welding demonstrations etc, hog roast, various food stalls... and so on - basically a big family event. So, the list of obstacles we have to play with so far are: - Approx 20 8ft railway sleepers - Unlimited (within reason) pallets, a bunch of tractor tyres, some forklift trucks, scrap cars, hopefully a couple of skips. - Loads of treetrunks/logs (which can be cut/shaped with chainsaws) Joe used to be a trials rider himself so understands what sort of stuff we need and as we are so close, we're gonna get stuck in with helping to design the course, so please let me know what you would like to see!! We reckon a speed trials course down one side of the field would be awesome (for spectators too), plus a 'pallet area', 'tyre area', log area' with cars and forklifts littered about to link them up, plus a load of loose pallets that can be shifted about to make better take-offs, extra gaps, etc. There will also be a large marquee which has to be slept in overnight to keep equipment safe after the event, so it should be no problem for people to camp there if you want to stay over. Apparently a BBQ and a few beers in the evening is the norm and long summer nights will also mean trials well into the evening! There is a 24hr Asda within 5 mins drive too, plus train station less than 2 miles away. So, your input is welcomed, we've got a really good blank canvas here so let's make the most of it! Ads -

Joe popped in this afternoon and from what has been said it looks really promising! We'll be helping out with course design (it's VERY close to us: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sour...p;t=h&z=15) and I'll fire up some photos of the area and the course as it's built (maybe a week or two before the event if the land isn't in use) so you guys can see how it's progressing. The park is really close to the M6, M61 and M65 so travel links are very good, plus of course if you did need any spare bits to keep your bike running we can sort you out from the shop -
Yep that will work fine Stan used one cam on the inside of the right hand dropout on his Hydroxx, that worked great too (and only stretched the frame out a couple of mm). The King bolts are 12mm thread, you can just make a larger hole on most cams or get a specific 12mm set.

Looks awesome dude The weight looks about right to me, people always underestimate the weights of their bikes!! Any sub-10kg stock bike is light...
-
Depends who is looking at it
-
It kinda depends on your point of view, you could make one SUPER light that would ride like crap and break fast, but something like the bike I posted above with a Koxx Sky frame would be around 7.6kg.

http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?produc...;category_id=47 - the lightest parts you can get apart from the frame which may shed ~200g - 7.82kg http://tartybikes.blogspot.com/2009/12/speed-race-fans.html - could be at least 400g lighter with dual rim brake - 7.88kg

Cheers - the problem is as I thought, one set of spokes is offset the wrong way in relation to the other. If you look down the centre of the axle, the head of the 'blue' spoke is one hole to the right of the head of the 'red' spoke, but they enter the rim in the opposite formation (blue spoke to the LEFT of the red spoke). This means the blue spoke has to reach further than it should (so appears to be too short) and the red spoke isn't stretching far enough (so appears too long). Basically you need to move all of the spokes on one side of the wheel round two spoke holes (in this case, blue spoke needs to go from position 1 to position 2... then the spoke that was in 2 needs to go to 3, etc). Adam

It's not laced quite right, what you have done is laced one side of the spokes offset one hole from the other. If you can get a decent photo I can show you what needs to go where

Internals look reasonable, although depends how many of those pawls engage at once and how deep/wide that ratchet is I guess: http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/photos/tech/...ib06ind9hub.jpg

1) No, old stock we had. 2) What problem?
-
It would be classed as around 2.5" I guess, but the way bars are normally measured is stupid - from the centre of the stem clamp to the first bend (doesn't take into account any rise/sweep AFTER the first bend!). So, we've been through all the bars on our site and added the *actual* rise. For example, the Inspired bars have 88mm rise and the Trialtech High Rise bars are 103mm: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/images/handleb...rge_barrise.jpg. For comparison, the Echo Low Rise bars are only 56mm.

Yeah it's a cool little place. It's in Stockport, also called 'UK Skate'
