Something like zip ties is perfect I reckon, massive worldwide market that's complete hands off once you've sold the rights/patents. I'd steal the paperclip!
They are good hubs, but you'll have the same problem as now unfortunately. You'll need a 'real' 116mm hub, so anything from Echo or Rockman will fit perfectly.

Surprisingly true. It's very tempting just to hit the brakes if they are there. I tried a bit of brakeless-ness last night and as soon as I went out of control the brakes went on...
If you've got a K710 and it's been strong enough, try the K810 - it's the same strength, lighter and will fit through a Rohloff.
As for the modification, you just take the washer out from underneath the circlip on the upper wheel.

A harsh grind doesn't mean a good grind. That one on Stan's bike is pretty poor, the first grind on a new rim never seems to come out well.

Pretty close - it's the same value in pounds as the cost of a 1st Class stamp (41p).
If you sent a set of forks 1st Class there is a reasonable chance they will come back to you or just get 'lost' in the postal system. Forks are over the size limit for 1st Class (you should have been told this at the Post Office when you posted them...).
