  1. They don't offer ankle support:
  2. Thanks for the comments gents, glad you like it! New version now uploaded (just the last few clips have changed, and one extra)... Lee Mill Quarry is near Bacup, Lancashire: Google Maps
  3. Hello all, Here's a new video I boshed together last night using some clips of Mark and Stan from Lee Mill Quarry on Sunday. Tried to make the video quite 'fun' but still hopefully shows what's possible with your brakes off! http://vimeo.com/10925773 Hope you like Cheers, Adam PS: I missed a clip by accident so there will be a new version uploaded later... I'll change the link once it's done. PPS: New version up!
  4. Just had a chat with Matt and things are looking quite promising A price for showers and camping has been agreed with the landowners and will be included within the donation fee of £6 that Matt mentioned above. Our idea would be to sell wristbands for the event through TartyBikes, which would have a few benefits: - You get your 'entry' confirmed before the event, so you can get yourself sorted out as soon as you arrive without having to queue and pay for entry. - We can get a good gauge of interest prior to the event. If it didn't go ahead for any reason we would of course offer a full refund to everyone. We still need to chat over a few details but would like to get some feedback about the above if poss? Cheers! Adam
  5. Bummer Hope it heals quickly! What exactly have you broken? Chipped the medial end off your tibia? Regarding shoes, there aren't any trials shoes that offer ankle support, so it would happen with any brand. The only thing that can help during an ankle inversion is an ankle brace.
  6. I would defo say hardtail or short travel full sus, depending if you wanna play on the balance stuff and/or pump track... if you do, hardtail!
  7. I (Mark) ran a 13t sprocket on the back of my bike and got plenty of chain-wrap. Can't you get an extra link out, maybe?
  8. I guess it's just a matter of playing around to find the best 'look'. I did read that fast shutters end up making computerised slo mo more crisp, and it makes sense... but also follows that some motion blur is more natural. All adds more weight to the 'no good for people who just want to point and shoot' argument
  9. Haha, I forgot to include g in PE = mgh, lol, fail. The solution above sounds 'right', but the numbers sound all wrong. Probably to throw you off...
  10. Exactly yeah, my first effort was useless, now done about 8 different variations and they get better each time
  11. Makes perfect sense, cheers Chris!
  12. What would the benefits of that be exactly...? Just removing the 'rolling shutter' effect I'm guessing? *thinking out loud* ... But it would give you motion blur instead I guess...
  13. We have decided the winners now! Sorry for the slight delay, been super busy here because we had a public holiday both sides of the weekend so it gave us a massive backlog of orders. So, the winners are, in no particular order: Philth Jitters Slobert A huge thanks to all who entered, we've had great fun seeing them all and judging the winners! The guys who have won, please email me with your addresses so we can get your prize out. Thanks again, hopefully we can do another competition sometime soon! Cheers, Adam, Stan, Ali, Mark, Gav & Kenny
  14. Ah-ha, we are singing from the same hymn sheet then
  15. Got some info from a guy on OTN - I think it's when the zoom changes and the lens has to change aperture... so it changes the shutter speed as well to keep the exposure correct. Easy to sort though!
  16. Seen some of Phillip Blooms stuff and it is very cool... Just wanted 'Nocturne' as well and that was sweet too. From your post Chris, it sounds like you're not much of a fan of DSLRs for video..? Taking into account their price in relation to a 'normal' video camera with similar 'performance' (used lightly! I guess I mean features, low light performance, ability to manually control stuff, etc) then surely they are a bit of a revelation. Of course, you need to know what all the settings are to get the best out of it (same for any sort of camera I suppose...), but to have the option is very cool in my opinion. You can just wang it on auto if you get stuck... I guess the main downfall is manual focus, but most normal video cameras at the same price would just close their aperture up and have a huge DOF anyway, which auto mode seems to do too. Edit: Reading back, sounds like you think they're not a great idea for the average user as they are too complex to get the best out of? Sorry if that's all jumbled, my head isn't working very well at the moment!
  17. I doubt Akrigg would ride that lot on a full on XC bike though... Cool video though, he's defo got skillz.
  18. QFT. As soon as we've made one haha. Realistically... a few weeks I guess providing the weather is decent and we can get out riding. My ankle is rogered at the moment and I'm keen to play with new camera so that helps... Did a video of a local rider at the weekend: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=150388
  19. Clip uploading, will edit when done... Edit: ready shortly: Pretty good considering it was 100% dark at this point, only light is that one orange street light. Could have made it a bit less grainy and lighter by changing the frame rate to 30 as well.
