  1. Bend the very end of the spoke at 90 degrees, poke it through the gap in the dropout in front of the axle bolt, then wind a couple of coils around the washer on the drive side end of the axle (between frame and hub shell)
  2. Quite a few months. None at all. Nope. In fact, the tensioner wears down because it's (relatively soft) stainless steel. I wouldn't trust yours Matt unfortunately, it needs at least 2 coils to produce enough force to stay in the groove of the chain. Without any coils, the spoke just bends and tension falls away.

    Modstock

That was a lot of people's beef with modstock frames when they first came about, but it's still not true. Echo 20" fixed rear hub flange spacing at the time was 2-3mm WIDER than a 135mm King SS hub.
  4. http://www.waspinator.co.uk/ - Got one and it seems to work!
  5. The thing with the Echo bearings is that there are 2 sets, one each side of the pawl mechanism. This helps to keep everything in alignment, and even though they are open, they can resist a lot more load than the ENO because that only has one bearing. I guess the machining quality is not *quite* as good as an ENO, but they are made in the USA and more expensive... The quality of the material is very good though, Echo test each batch to make sure it's within spec. We have seen photos of a huge rejected batch because the hardness was not good enough.
  6. We have seen many more problems with ENO than Echo SL (such as pawls breaking, teeth in the ratchet chipping), but not many ENO outer pieces breaking, I would say only about as many as Echo SL. If you had an ENO for 4-5 years then an SL should last forever!
  7. No, sorry - we don't have any and if you got ill from the sweets that could cause some serious hassle/liability issues...
  8. And what's crap and what isn't With ZHI and Bionic (same company), there are some bits we'd like to stock, but there is a conflict with Echo so we can't (well, we could, but it would be BAD for our business) get their stuff because of that.
  9. All valid points Matt, and competition also helps us stay on our toes too. Out of interest, which brands/parts in particular? Cheers! Adam
  10. I'd rather my TV License fee didn't double to be honest
  11. Can't believe that was the last in the series, major disappointment The Ferrari was quite cool, but 3 mins of Clarkson shouting superlatives wasn't really a test
  12. What are you trying to clean it with?
  13. Click where it says 'EPI': Ends Per Inch (Threads per Inch): Unit for the density of the carcass fabric. the higher the EPI, the denser ther carcass and so the higher the quality of the tire.
  14. I wouldn't bother in that case - they aren't particularly useful for truing.
  15. How often do you build wheels? And do you build them 'professionally' or just for yourself?

    ..

They aren't pre-stretched but they do stretch a LOT less when new than a Kool chain. With any chain, you would need new wheel slammers when it's bedded in though.
  17. If you take all the other 3 bolts off, you might be able to use the booster itself to loosen the bolt - there should be enough friction between the booster and the underside of the bolt head to rotate the booster anticlockwise and get the bolt moving. Once it's loosened off a little bit, you should be ok from there.

    New Hs33 Brake

For sure, it's actually looking quite promising! Must admit we were skeptical after just seeing photos, but the functionality of this brake is really good. Got some photos and will put more info up later... super busy at the mo.
