  1. If it's getting to the point where it sticks even with grease, then it's definitely too tight... (As in, you're putting too much preload on your headset and backing off a bit will help your headset and solve the top cap problem.)
  2. Erm, I'm not sure what all this talk of washers and tape and coke cans is all about - just tightening the bolts (more specifically the top one) will do the job!
  3. Pretty sure there is a pin through the steerer (at the back maybe?). If so, might be worth drilling that out, you can always put a bolt and nut back in afterwards Not sure you can get replacement steerers for those forks that easily though...
  4. +1 Heating the hose isn't a good idea in my experience, just makes it more brittle once it's cooled down.
  5. They were awesome in Manchester on Saturday Very cool playing by the way, always wanted to do my 'own' music for a video but never got round to it...
  6. Nah it's a 'Stiky Lite' in 20" size, rather than 'Shift'. I think its a few grams lighter but about £15 more and the old ones are discontinued
  7. If only, try almost doubling that! I think it was £799 and that was when the Euro exchange rate was around 1.45/£. Recently it was around 1.05/£ which instantly makes what used to be a £799 frame £1103!
  8. Well I can do ABC, 123, XYZ, BBC, HIV, HMRC, DohRayMe and BFG so ner
  9. The thing is, you don't hold onto your front axle. If the head angle was 85 degrees, even with a 1020 wheelbase the bike would feel very long. The wheelbase by itself doesn't dictate how long the bike feels. Two 24" frames will be released separately, one V-Brake only and one Disc & 4-Bolt. The 26" will be 4-Bolt only.
  10. Sorry, that will have been a copy and paste from Conti website, I have changed it now - both the DK and RK are steel bead.
  11. As far as I know, there aren't many (only the SKF really springs to mind) ISIS BBs that are as tough as the Truvativ DH, it is over 400g after all!
  12. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acronym_and_initialism Looks like they are the same thing?
  13. http://www.isisdrive.com/isisdrive/index.htm
  14. Both actually, but I meant the M12 one.
  15. It IS a Trialtech ISIS BB If you mean the M12 one that's nearly 100g heavier, then no, probably not - but there were zero of those that failed...
  16. Replace the threads: http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=10498&category_id=22 And get a pair of these in 3/8" so it doesn't do it again: http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=10568&category_id=523
  17. That's just because they are open bearing without lube - but it does mean you can have twice as many balls (titter) therefore twice the load capability. Kristaps - when you say the bearings are 'dead', what do you mean exactly? I find it hard to believe they are broken.
  18. Not sure how I could improve after having not ridden at all for 3 weeks and getting back on mod for the first time in a few months, but thanks Mark has defo improved though, some of the techy stuff he can do now is nuts! Glad (most of) you liked the vid Cheers, Ads
  19. Ok cool - if you could email those details over with the photos that would be great please. Also a couple of photos of the underneath of the frame (downtube and chainstays) and we'll see what Echo say Adam
