  1. I've heard or one or two sets not 100% unscathed, but they are as old as yours at least. TR bars won't last anywhere near that long: 6066 instead of 7075, and 288g instead of ~310g.
  2. He asked for which are the best bars though, not which people preferred. In terms of design, construction, quality, tolerances and durability the Trialtech are the 'best'.
  3. What bike? What riding style? What frame? What stem? The 'best' bars out of those are the Trialtech though.

Yellow Crocos I think. Edit: Yep, just looked at some of the raw footage.
  5. The wheelbuild dates don't get updated automatically - I have barely been in work today so haven't had chance to updated after the weekend sales, sorry if it's misleading. I'll sort it now.

All wide angle, colours all wrong, no music - but good riding! Adam

  8. Haven't received it... What email did you send to? Can't really see from the photos. What happens if you bleed with oil? Water voids the warranty unfortunately.
  9. They had to be custom made by Sapim for us - with a 6-8 week lead time. Predicting stock levels was a nightmare, as soon as you run out of one length you might as well not have any at all, sod's law dictates everyone will keep needing the lengths you don't have Oh and they had to be bought in boxes of 500 (8 boxes to cover all the lengths needed) and didn't sell all that well Mike - bummer, sorry to hear about that! Still happy to take the spokes back if you have the time/inclination to de-lace and rebuild the wheel, just let me know
  10. First set - I can't believe you're still moaning about that, lol. 2x works fine on the front of 20" bikes and has done on hundreds of bikes for the past 10 years or more. It's easier to lace than 3x anyway. Second set - that is a genuine mistake, my apologies. Last week was pretty nuts, mega rush with East holidays and good weather! Please send them back and we will return black to you and pay your postage costs for getting the silver ones back to us. Returns form is here: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/pages/terms_and_conditions.html#returns We really don't seem to see eye to eye about spokes, haha, so it would probably be better for both of us if you ordered elsewhere in future actually Edit: I've got my "it's a sunny Sunday afternoon and I've had a good weekend so I don't give a crap until the bedlam starts again at 9am tomorrow morning" head on, so that probably comes across all wrong - sorry.
  11. Cos my girlfriend bought them for me - stress boobs!

I think one of the reasons for lots of wide angle is to help reduce the effects of camera shake (although I'm sure Mark will confirm!), so I made a steady-cam last night which should help. All fair points though Ben and I'm sure Mark will take them on board!
  13. Can the hose rotate on the barbed fitting? If yes, it's not fitted correctly. Have you tried the food colouring trick? One thing with a poor bleed is that the brake often feels like it's leaking when in fact it isn't. If when the brake is bled there are small amounts of air all over the system it usually still feels ok, but after some use the air gradually rises and gathers in the lever, so you can feel it very easily.
  14. No need, just walk into your local car shop and get some antifreeze The pistons are hard to get out of the slaves (and the process is generally irreversible), but as said it doesn't seem to happen down there.
  15. But most arguments around it are 'it wrecks the seals', no?
  16. For a trials bike? Get the one with 'Trial' in the name
  17. http://www.sdplastics.com/nylon.html That would swell your piston from 13.90mm (new) up to 14.00mm, which is the same size as the cylinder and it therefore sticks. I have seen them as high as 14.02 before. However: When we see this problem here though, we usually just lathe the piston down to 13.95mm so the problem doesn't occur again. So there we have it - the reason water 'screws up' hydraulic rim brakes seems to be nothing to do with the seals
  18. Will possibly be popping down if the weather is good, for some filming
  19. +1! Sweet vid Joe How are you getting on with the frame now? PS: Hit me up on MSN when you have a minute!

Can't really add much else - awesome stuff Mark! Also - what has Ali C been eating? I want some of that! Ali C for president
  21. I was going to say, I would be very surprised if the brake was leaking. To test for leaks if you are bleeding with water, add some food colouring when you do the bleed, then if any seeps out of the brake you can wipe it away with toilet tissue and the colour will show. My guess is a bad barbed fitting connection or air in the brake making it feel like it's leaking.
