  1. I think you might struggle to drill down the centre of a bolt. Best bet is to use M6 bolts...

    F1

Good to see the 'Bulls being pushed, but annoyed it's Ferrari doing it. The FIA seem to have a history of changing the rules to help Ferrari out, as much as I love F1 that's the sort of crap that could stop me watching/going in future... Anyway, Silverstone pics... P1: Check out the aero paint... P2: Bit of rain! Spray from just one car: Chilling at camp site on Friday evening Q1 - Renaults seemed to have a lot more body roll than other cars. RBs and Ferraris were visibly much faster through here than anyone else... Me and Claire 4:30am Sunday 6:30am Sunday Filling up... Pretty much everyone wearing Orange/White/Silver, was awesome! Lewis on the charge!
  3. Yes, but then you have an M5 x 1.0 thread, for which you might struggle to find a bolt... M6 bolt is 1.0 pitch, M5 bolt is 0.8 pitch (standard bike threads).
  4. No, you have increased the thread pitch by tapping out to M6.
  5. Yeah man, Phil will get you sorted - he runs a 'normal' shop too, so is most likely really busy, or has already tried to contact you. I can see Joe's given him a shout so I'm sure he'll be along soon
  6. Yes, 160 = #5. I would go with 180mm on 26" wheel though.
  7. It's cool how people are so different - we (myself and girlfriend) both thought it was pretty boring. Only good bit was the 1M. Still looking forward to the rest of the series though!
  8. Your fork is international standard (providing it hasn't been changed form new!): http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/disc_brake_spares/hope_mono_trial_caliper/c110p10955.html?tab=additional_information#box

    Pad Reviews

Scroll down to 'wringing': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauge_block The pads are VERY smooth on their surface from new, so once they bed in or the rim is slightly dirty, performance will drop off very quickly Had the same thing with Monty pads on a D521CD rim back in the day.
  10. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/media/guides/product_guide_20_inch_frames/m12.html
  11. Didn't actually 'use' it, I fitted it, bedded it in, then took it off cos the lever feel was a bit weird. Power seemed ok though!
  12. Tried those and the power is actually pretty good - only issue is that the lever shape and throw is pretty manky. They feel pretty 'wooden' too, but do work well.
  13. You-re right! I'll get Mark to tweak his post, cheers for pointing that out. Stan has the Trialtechs on at the moment, by the way.
  14. Possible challenger to the 'Nick Wood Brake Pad Of Choice™' crown: Crocos in CNC backings...?
  15. Well, they're £19, and the performance is the same as Try-All Crocos - which you can see in the video. Crocos should have had an RRP of £21.50, but we artificially reduced the price for the UK market to make them more affordable.
  16. It's nowhere near that figure, but we are having stock issues with some items at the moment. The problem is that nearly all of our suppliers are out of stock of important items (such as Trialtech of 4-Bolt forks), and/or VERY slow in getting stuff to us. It's not uncommon for us to wait over 2 months for an order, from placing it to delivery. 6 weeks tends to be a 'fast' delivery time from our overseas-based suppliers. Trying to estimate stock for such a long time in what is a very 'sporadic' market can be tricky. Trust me, we aren't trying to be out of stock of stuff! Back on topic - the poll says it all.
  17. Echo - lighter. Neon - stronger.
  18. That won't work. Sounds like you have got enough force now if you are snapping the chain. Bunch the chain up into a 'triangle' and sit that against the vice jaws, that will stop it from snapping.
  19. Nice one Ok, you actually need quite a lot of fittings... 2x #2 2x #3 4x #5 4x #6 4x #9 4x #10 (Pretty sure that's right but my brain is frazzled and I'm in a rush - have a look t the video below to confirm) This video should help: http://www.hopegb.com/page_mep_force_36.html - I've not watched it for a while, but from memory you just need to strip ~6-8mm of plastic outer from the hose to get the olives over

    Grips

Not keen on holding onto a dildo though personally. Mine last maybe 12-18 months, only change them cos they get a bit slippy (Trialtech - but can wash them anyway).
  21. What EXACTLY are you trying to attach to what? Is it a complete brake's worth of bits you need? Which slaves do you have? (M6/M6, M6/M8?)
  22. £60 each? True - however once you start taking payments that's it, the admin involved in refunding ~100 payments if you don't reach the 'target' would be a bit daft, and you'd like like a tit. Seems like others may be keen to try the same sort of event anyway (and of course Radfest later this year), which is awesome - my advice would be to allocate a lot longer than you think you need, double your estimated budget (although somewhere like Barrow Farm would help a LOT with this, as most of the riding kit and infrastructure is already there), and only work with people you 100% trust to get it right when they are doing stuff on your behalf (before anyone jumps to conclusions, Matt worked his arse off for 2 weeks before the event so that is not a comment aimed at him!!!). Come to think of it, Barrow Farm is pretty much an ideal venue and I would have loved the chance to hold this event there, I would have done if the chat I had with Mick at the start of this year didn't reveal he wouldn't let us use the venue (as explained above - fair point). With that said, I think Radfest should be awesome providing there is enough 'chill time'
