  1. Blockage somewhere in the cooling system? In other news, ere's a pretty lengthy video from Silverstone on Friday. It was damn slippery early in the morning, but dried out a bit towards the end of the day. But here's a brief 'map' so you can skip around the video: 0:40 me nearly falling off the track (and then a BMW doing the same 2 laps later) 1:10 me wet lap 5:15 Adam driving sideways 6:00 me GTR-chasing 9:00 Adam 2 laps by himself 14:10 Tom driving 18:50 me with some dry-er laps at the end of the day.

    F1

I recently read an interview with him that completely changed my perception, I'll try and see if I can find it. Defo want Alonso to win the title.
  3. Apart from posting it on Facebook just a few minutes ago...
  4. Depends what tyres and how you drive really. For example the T1Rs on the car in the video above could be destroyed in one track day if you slid around a lot and overheated them, but the track tyres I have on my other set of wheels have done about 12 days / 1500 miles now and are still road legal in terms of tread (just). On the race car, a set of tyres lasts a full season, so 7 x 20 min qualifying sessions and 14 x 20 minute races. Providing you keep it smooth
  5. Looks such fun, very varied! Did a track day with Bongo (!) on wednesday!
  6. I would say about zero, but they should be able to get pretty close if they can use a car colour chart to match by eye...
  7. Yeah, the ones I added to Ridden.it are on there too...
  8. Firstly, thanks a lot to the guys who have mentioned TartyBikes - we really appreciate it. We do work hard to try and meet your needs, which is why threads like this are extremely useful in helping us to up our game, and in turn you get a service that is tailored more closely to what you want! Sending stuff out same day for next day delivery isn't 'amazing service!' any more in my opinion. That's just our job. Been doing it long enough to be able to get that right 99.9% of the time. It's the other stuff that makes the difference between a good shopping experience and a great one (IMO). As already mentioned by Mark, we weren't all that happy with the previous lot of stickers (they were a bit boring and the white wasn't opaque enough), but we had ordered them in enough quantity to last for a couple of years. Now they are running out, we have ordered a new design to check out. Should be around in no more than a few weeks. A small thing but we take pride in the details. Sam mentioned competition - we also see that as healthy. It's easy to get 'stuck in a rut' so new competition is what we thrive on. I believe it should be on a level playing field though, which brings me onto the next point. While that is a good thing (referring to the 'healthy competition' element highlighted above), any legit shop can do that and has been able to for a long time. They just need to have good contacts. Ben and Jack (especially) at Trials Addict have been around long enough to know a lot of the ins and outs of trials and who supplies what. We like to be pretty selective about which products we offer to customers, since the quality of the products reflects upon the shop in my opinion. We can get literally anything, but we have cut ties with certain suppliers before, such as Speed Race. Most of the stuff would arrive damaged and we had to sell it at a discount. We didn't think customers would want to receive goods that are scratched / dinged / dented, even if they are at a discount? If I'm wrong let me know! Other brands of course are a bit more careful with shipping and customer service, and we have built up loyalty with them over the years. We're exclusive UK distributor for quite a lot of the major trials brands; Koxx, Try-All, Echo, Neon, Because, TNN, Reset, Ribo, Ozonys, Rockman, V!Z, ZOO! and probably a couple more. If other UK shops are selling those products, then they should have been purchased through us. Maybe that's why some shops seem to have lots of other stock they don't show on the website. Seems strange mind you, since as a shop you obviously want to try and sell stuff, haha. It's clear when products haven't been obtained through the correct channels though, because they just appear on a shop's website or Mr X pops up on Trials-Forum or Facebook with 'Got my new xxxx from xxxx shop, thanks guys!' You can also find some shops selling certain brands (mainly the China-based brands it seems, Echo for example) without having purchased them through the correct channels, but claiming to do so - it's possible to buy straight from a re-seller in China, dodge the import fees because it's only a small consignment and sent to a home address, then flog the stuff on to make a tidy profit. Sometimes 'cash only' is even stipulated by the seller so it doesn't go through their books and it avoids paying any taxes on the sale as well. If customers want to do that then great, it keeps people out on their bikes and we are all for that, but you can just import those items yourself. Saves you a few quid (the re-seller's margin) and you are in the same position as before - no warranty and not helping to support the core businesses that supply your 'bread and butter' parts. Competition is a good thing and we welcome it - but I believe a level playing field is required to keep that competition healthy!

    Alloy Bolts

It's still like that and nothing has self destructed, yet! But they were tightened with care...
  10. I think something may have been misinterpreted there, sorry! Marking the value down is illegal and since the bike comes in an Inspired box, it's very easy for customs officers to check the 'real' value - they have the last say in what duties and taxes you get charged and can add on a fine if they see fit... This tool will help you calculate import fees for your country: http://www.dutycalcu...ax-calculation/

    Foam Grips

That is wrong - sorry - I will go and change it now. To answer your topic, Trialtech every time.
  12. Bit of a bump - but all those who won Tarty vouchers (well done!) should now have emails with the voucher codes. If you haven't got them, check your junk mail just in case...
  13. I read that plate as 'TARDO', a bit like the 'JARDO' one earlier in the thread
  14. Scales... always forget to look at those :$ My brain always assumes they are the same, cos that's how it should be logically
  15. Just noticed the torque and bhp don't cross anywhere near 5252rpm, how come Nick?
  16. Not surprised looking at that! Looks pretty much like a 'standard' engine curve, just everything doubled?! Gotta be happy with it?
  17. Anything works well with the right technique. As Nick said, getting rid of the build up is a good idea too.
  18. Anything from about 30% antifreeze and upwards about will be fine. You could always bleed with a syringe, then you don't need to fill a sink? WD40 bleed works alright, GT85 doesn't (tried both).
  19. I think I see what's happened - you've got a Mono Trial seal and a Trial Zone seal from Hope. The TZ one is a slightly different size as it goes in the caliper rather than the bore cap (http://www.tartybike...zoneborecap.jpg). It's entirely possible Hope have mixed them up when we got our last lot of complete seal kits, meaning you got the wrong one from us - sorry about that. I'll get a partial refund sorted out for you!
  20. Cheers dude. That is really odd. Hope don't make a larger bore cap seal than the one needed for that brake Silly question, but you were trying to put it here, yeah?
  21. Glad it's seemingly sorted now. If the bleed nipple was leaking previously, then that will have been your issue. Weird, sorry about that! Which brake do you have, got a pic?
