  1. Looks tidy, if it is as rustless as the listing makes out that's a good price. Have a look on mx5nutz forum, there's a '£20 and under mods' thread.
  2. Nah don't use grease, just a bit of dot fluid is all you need. If you think the problem is in the lever, sort that first or you're just wasting your time
  3. Perfectly fixable, would just need new seals.
  4. Is it possiblev the previous owner has f**ked the brake in some way? Such as bleeding it with mineral oil? I've never seen a sticky Hope lever other than for that reason, even ones that are closing in on 20 years old!
  5. That's the alternator not working usually. Start the car and test the voltage across the battery. Should be about 1.5-2v higher than when the car isn't running. Would explain why the previous battery died too...
  6. Danny's had two, still got both of them. PS: Cleep 2s arrived today...
  7. Also known as CliqueForumâ„¢ Could never get on with that place.
  8. Haha, no I don't mind the looks of the Mk2, it's just generally regarded as 'the worst one'. The stereo should be better on it though, for sure. Buy on condition, not age or mileage! Doesn't sound toooo bad providing the shell is in good nick...
  9. In that case I assume a Mk3, cos I won't let you buy a Mk2
  10. Eunos is a much better buy than a UK car, btw. ~25bhp more, LSD (which may or may not lock up any more, haha), less chance of being a rust-bucket as it's the import. Might be trickier for insurance though...
  11. Not really - the 1.8 has a longer diff and is closing in on 60kg heavier, so even though it has ~20bhp more it's not much quicker until you get to high speeds. The difference in 0-60 times is about half a second, for example (I think). Basically, Andrew is right
  12. 1.8 if you want to trundle around (has more mid-range), 1.6 if you want to thrash it (likes t obe revved). Buy on condition of the chassis, everything is cheap and easy to replace.
  13. They're not, but they will last at least a year
  14. Local motor factor or EuroCarParts / CarParts4Less, cheapest one you can find that's the right size. Just pop your reg in.
  15. Racing at Oulton yesterday, back on form with a 2nd and a 3rd (which should have been a 2nd - not forceful enough in defence on the last lap!). 1st place was again taken by someone who has at least 10bhp over the limit, really really hoping the dyno is at the next round at Snetterton... PS: The Island circuit at Oulton sucks balls compared to the full one.
  16. Oi, I had a saloon Octavia vRS :-P was a cracking car that. Had very useful load the space, from memory the estate floor is raised in the back so you have just as much room in the hatchback (and a better looking car).
  17. Not if it's an open bearing headset though...
  18. Nah, they are a completely different frame. Can't think of a single item they will share. http://www.observedtrials.net/vb/f9/echo-urban-build-up-13963/ That frame is still going strong btw Mark!
