Pretty nice! Am I right in seeing that the front rim still has a sharp grind going? If so, how is that kind of front HS33 set up doing compared to a disc? I haven't used front Mag in yeeeears and definitely not on rear-mounted forks and a grind! So I'm curious what kind of performance to expect

Double booster is different, not too many people with that. I like that! These new 2011 Deng frames look great, the Spanish BB system and the fact that the BB is included and pre-fitted is really a step forward!

When I used to have a BB7 I contaminated the pads by the rear HS33 leaking a lot of oil during rebleeding. I just tried degreasing it in citrus Fairy water and then boiling it for 15 minutes in regular water. Didn't turn out perfect, but I then just took really fine grade sandpaper and scrubbed the surface of the pads. Also I scrubbed the rotor whilst the wheel was spinning (be very careful! I advise you gently turn the wheel holding the tyre and do it in small increments instead of the shortcut I used. Then went back to the 'bedding in' method with cold water and a big hill. Improvement! Then I tried the muddy sandy gritty water for a few more drags. Then back to regular cold water to get it working as near as 100% as I could! Seemed to work, but if you can get new pads then that's better. But the methods above should be enough before you new pads arrive!

That's awesome! It's good to see that Speedrace are open to their team riders' suggestions.

Martyn Ashton doesn't really compete in traditional trials comps much anymore, rides a lot of demos, carries a 'streety' style to a lot of his riding, and made a certain (awesomely entertaining!) instructional VHS with Hans Rey and Martin Hawyes yeeears back that helped me and many many others understand 'Trials' better whilst learning how to do the basics. I still consider all three to be (great) trials riders even though they don't do comps much anymore, or ride other disciplines and blend it into something they think works well for them. Beat me to it!

Barcode removeable? Funky colours!

Did you run a bashplate on that at some point before? If not, and it just cracked of its own accord because of the stress riser that gusset being present then that's pretty unfortunate

Dope 'lil vid! I enjoyed that! Do you train with the Strayz sometimes?

I think one of the foreign mail order shops had an Adamant A3. Maybe Biketrialseller? Not encouraging it, but as a last resort if you're desperate for one, it normally carries old frames.

There've been a few 2011 Pures and 24"s cropping up, but almost no Lites, so here's some pictures of a friend's new build! Good to see that Deng has reinstated the gussets for downtube bash mounts, minimum weight addition for a much lower chance of the downtube caving in! Guessing the next batch of Lite frames in the UK'll have this update hopefully? Anyway onto the pics!:

GU TP mods have a design flaw, they all crack at the toptube or downtube mount sooner rather than later. Deng mentioned that around '08 lots of workers at the factories had to be changed for economic reasons, so the quality of his products suffered a lot. The A3 however, is a great frame! Out of those 3 original ones from the first post, I'd go for a 2011 Lite. Next would be Ice 2.

In its day, that frame was considered a tank of a build. These days even more so! Watch those dropouts though.. How are the wheels holding up? I feel a little guilty inside everytime I see those!

Anyone who might know of a place?

Hey, I've been on the lookout for some double butted spokes suitable for 19" wheels mainly. Sadly, Tartybikes don't carry the Sapim ones anymore apparently because they weren't that popular and needed to be custom length'd in some cases. The BMX brands on various BMX sites are a bit too long for a typical 19" rear build and since they're DB they can't just be cut down and rethreaded like plain gauge. Does anyone know of any shops in the UK that carry a decent brand like Sapim or DT Swiss but do have shorter spokes in stock or are open to getting a certain length made for them by Sapim/DT? Most ideally would be if demand for DB spokes in 19/20 increased and Tarty stocked them again! £12.50 for those Sapims were a steal! Any help/insight would be much appreciated! Thanks

No word as of yet. Though "Mark 1" on Echo's current 2011 catalogue might suggest a 2nd introduction of newer 2011 products. If it's anything to anyone interested in 2011 Echo Lite mod frames, I have seen pictures of some with what seems to be a proper gusset attached underneath the downtube bash mount weld so that you won't get cracks and caving in as easily. Something Deng hasn't done since early '05! So long as it's prolonging frame life at minimal weight penalty, then it can only be positive!
-
It used to be the common failure point for the older Echo Team (04) forks where people'd snap the alu steerer which prompted Deng to release those super thick steerer'd forks from 05/06 onwards 'til recently. As far as modern forks go, it's not something I've seen in a long time! What forks are those by the way?

Please respond to PMs about sending my tensioner back. You might not want to abuse peoples' trust.

Mohahahaha you're welcome There's still a few you can get a hold of from Chinese stores. Nice vid !

Looks good! Just a blind throwing of eggs into baskets, but, since we're talking dominoes already... something like CNC'd and textured jewelry like bracelets or pendants might be popular. I wouldn't mind a pair of CNC'd dogtags
-
Nice stem Neat build! Did you have to modify either the forks or the front hub to fit properly by the way? I'm strongly considering a set of Trialtechs myself.

Though it's probably been mentioned several times in other threads and a few times in this one, is there any chance of Continental in the near future releasing a trials suitable pair of 20"/19" tyres? Considering the technology they use for their high end DH tyres, it would be pretty interesting to see it on some tyres for mods. Small market, but Maxxis went for it several years back with their Creepy Crawlers. Perhaps a Trial Queen/King feeler batch wouldn't hurt too much? I'd definitely feel a lot better spending around £50 or £60 on a 19" Conti tyre than a Try-All Stiky Lite no matter how much more improved they are over the old Stikys.
