If I were to get a Toxsin mod ever, I would want one with a bashplate, as long as the bash mounts are a good strong design such as the ones seen on Onza T-Pros and T-Lites. Not the shoddy types such as the first 2005 T-Mags.
-
Yep, I'm coming to this one on Sunday... with about 5 or so other people around my area. Including a unicycle trials rider!
-
Well, it's not really a drawback of U6... Onza T-Pro's of 2004 and 2005 never crack at brake mounts and they're U6.. It's the fact that the 2005 Zoo bikes, as I see on my frame.. the square mounts are all individually welded as one each on its own... instead of on T-Pros and most other frames, each square for the mounts are accompanied by another, spreading the weld longer therefore, making it a bit stronger. Silly that Zoo had to isolate each brake mount on its own.. Plus, on the subject of 2006 Zoo Bikes, I had a quick look at Adrian Jordan's new 2006 Pitbull, and the mounts on each seatstay seem to be welded across eachother like how almost every other frame is done... meaning 2006 Pitbulls most probably won't suffer from this brake mount crackage problem.

Well, I got this idea from a friend, who happens to be a trials rider, at the same time a bike mechanic and has studied all sorts of engineering and knows almost everything about bikes, metal properties exactly, and other forces (Physics).. I'm pretty sure that this won't affect many of you, but for Zoo bike 2005 owners such as myself, it could be worth noting about, as the brake mounts are just about the shoddiest design ever on a trials bike, and the vibration is likely to be most powerful there.. it'll probably contribute as well as frame flex in the whole process of brake mount crackage..

Hey Joe, I'm riding Kingston on Saturday which is my birthday, I'm coming on Sunday, seeing as its the most prefereable day for most riders, plus I'd like to see Travis attempt the gap again :P If you want Joe, come ride Kingston on saturday and bring along some friends from Woking if you like. It's up to you, oh and, also I'll be getting a unicycle trials rider riding on Saturday in Kingston too, he's 4th in the country doing comps, and does some crazy gaps possibly even crazier than Travis' gaps... Anyhoo, I'm sure most riders want to ride London on Sunday anyway.
-
Hello there! Yes I live fairly near Camberly too, my school isn't too far away either... Yeah try Woking out, my area isn't that big, only about 4 riders now, and also the 4th place British Trials Unicyclist ;)... Anyway, come to London rides mate, would be good to meet new people, and yeah, I would be happy to try help get you good on some techniques. :D Add me to MSN if you have it mate :'(: pissoffthepublic@hotmail.com

The prototype Zona Zips looked really nice, but now Zona have a new Aheadset sort of headtube that looks very familiar to the old T-Raptor 2004 headtube, which looks a bit like an unthreaded BB shell... :'( Also, the downtube on the Zona Zip on Trials Nation, looks identical to the downtube of the Onza T-Mag, how it ovalises from vertical to horizontal along the downtube. It's also a 7005 series frame like the T-Mag 2005 so who knows, the downtube could be the same... Anyhow, that's just my theory, we'll see if its more dent resistant than the T-Mag 2005 soon enough even if they do have identical 7005 alloy downtubes... but, for £200 for the dark grey version, no one can really complain, sure some people don't like the graphics, but from Mark's brief ride, it seems a dam good frame for only £200 or so. Now, I'm just waiting for Zona or Onza to produce a T-Bone or some cromo mod :D

Hello there, me and Tim Rodriguez do indeed live around Kingston about 5 minutes away, and also another rider called Chris Antonio who works in the Kingston Halfords, Tim works there too, so try to catch them on the weekdays. We ride a bit on saturdays etc. and mostly London on Sundays :- Sent you a PM about my contact details mate

That bashplate downtube mount is a very silly design on the T-Mag, there should be some sort of gusset at least, such as the one found on the T-Pro, or better more, the one found on the T-Lite which I believe is a block of aluminium or something? Anyway, as I have been told by someone, this IS a design defect, however, I seriously think it wouldn't hurt to run an Armourdillo or Carbonique and just use a bashring perhaps? Thats what I do on my Python, and in my opinion it's a nicer option. I never really use my bashring for anything but as a last resort incase I slip. I'd hate to see 'third-wheel' riders aka bashplate riders ride these T-Mags (Y).. Luke, if I were you just keep riding the frame, just use an armoudillo and a bashring, the bashring supplied on the 2005 Muscleman cranks?

My *stupid* failure on static gap is so damn clumsy.. failed on like what a 3-4ft gap? Well, see what happens when you forget to get to the edge and hump the stem in mid-air... I think I've gone crazy with backwheeling I just seem to be cutting my shins to try getting higher and higher.
-
*Might* be that the bolt/screw/threads are a bit shagged... Get new bolts or screws, whatever this grip uses... if it still doesn't work, most probably clamp threads gone a bit.

I have found that these pads don't work so well with tar, I am using a rear Koxx rim remember seeing as it's made of softer aluminium than most other rims.. Like JT, I've tried this, and with a small bit of tar, not much happens really, and then I'm forced to put on more tar, and then it gets really sticky and horrible... Why exactly does oil spill on disc brakes totally malfunction them, when it doesn't do it nearly as bad on rim brakes?
-
Black pads and Koolstops don't work with tar very well as I have found... But then again I'm using a Koxx rim, so not all pads work great on it...
-
Yeah that should work I think... I find that unsealed ball bearing freewheels are a nightmare to service though :P .
