  1. I'm coming to London. With a few others maybe. I'll see if tim rodriguez is coming too
  2. I've heard people saying Tensile Bubblegum pads are even softer than Zoos... maybe its ultra ultra exagerattion, but there was a post in the Pad Review thread *I think*, talking about how short a time Tensile pads lasted on a grind, was pretty ridiculous time though, way under a day or so...
  3. Hey Timo, is this Chris that's making it for you? I was once gonna have him make one for me, but now I can't be assed until I get some Echo cranks. I had some measurements somewhere, and I made a model on paint with scales and measurements next to it. I made a basic one, kinda similar to the Tensile bashring, like about 3-5mm thick, and the diameter was something like 85mm diameter in total. Not sure how big the centre circle is, but you can easily find out by measuring it on your cranks, on the freewheel thread... You'd better get your ass down to London this sunday Or.. alternatively you can buy the Tensile bashguard off Tarty for a tenner to fit on ur Montys

There's a little more than just that. First, it's impossible to get a Profile Unicycle Hub anywhere in the world outside of USA. So shipping will cost a bomb, plus not that many are made... Plus no one really gets them because they're such a ripoff cos all of it'll set you back like £250 ish and that the only crankset you can get for them are weak as hell? Meh, lucky I got it all under trade
  5. I wanna come . Plus Chai, you can collect your new tyre off Joe cookie, you gonna choke on your drink again ?

Meh, Profile hub. Big deal . Yeah they're f**king hard to find and are rare on a unicycle... but surely, seeing profile hubs on your group rides is a fairly standard thing . since everyone's got them, the prestige has seriously worn off, plus it'smore amazing to find someone with a hub other than a profile on their mods these days
  7. Says filebrowser does not exist, for me Anyone kind enough to upload it onto Trials Shack, Eengoedidee, Megaupload or any other file sharing program?
  8. Really not liking them, I thought Echo said these were long lasting... Even Echo's 2004/2005 CNC rim which was designed specifically for lighter/smoother riders are stronger than these new ones.
  9. I can see Euro 3 piece BBs being relatively easy to fit, but for stuff like Profile BBs doesn't the axle move side to side according to how many spacers on each side and how tight you do the crankbolt? If that's true then its gonna be a bit of a pain compared to how easy Isis and taper are.
  10. Loving the face expressions . I must come down to Hastings again soon
  11. Nice gap. Still unsure but is a higher BB stock realistically better than normal BB height stocks for doing gaps? Have heard very mixed opinions about high BB being crap for gapping and others saying that they're better.

You haven't seen me on my bike in quite a while, it's certainly easier to push myself to get higher heights on my bike because I know theres a back brake to secure me, a drivetrain to add a shit load of power, and a front end for me to hoist myself up more efficiently. I have to land absolutely perfect square onto something on my uni or else I roll out and die . On bike you can easily land your rear tyre sloppily or on an edge dodgily cos your entire weight isnt centred on the wheel unlike a uni. Though I'm not that bothered about sidehopping on my bike that much, I can get 14 inches higher than my unicycle sidehop which is what I concentrate alot on.

Try hopping with the seat between your legs on your unicycle, now thats not too easy for 90% of beginners. And then try hopping with the seat in front of your legs, most people won't even be able to do one hop before losing all balance and fall sideways. It's really blindingly obvious why a bike is easier to sidehop and get height on, you've got the front end, and plus your feet are positioned above the BB meaning less weight concentrated on the wheel your landing on, plus you've got a back brake to hold you in place in the dodgiest of rear wheel landing positions. Pretty obvious really... EDIT: JT, it's just that some people kinda completely don't understand how things work and are getting the wrong idea. It's not arguing, its just friendly debating, I'm just saying what I know to be right so people don't get the wrong end of the stick

Riding both bike and uni, a unicycle is harder to get height on and harder to sidehop... And also there is a 'wrong way' and 'right way' to sidehop on a unicycle as well. Hopping on the spot with the seat in front of your legs is not easy to start off with, nevermind trying to get decent height on a sidehop. A bike's got the drivetrain as well as the bounce and pulling up effect of the front end as a lever to get height and stretch your body up. Most of it's pretty much common sense.. some of you might think its easy, but 95% of you who think that won't even be able to sidehop a unicycle much higher than a curb to be honest. It's really a f**kload harder than it looks and its really quite different to things like free running.

Fact is, it's not simple at all, sidehopping a bike is 10 times easier. I highly doubt that most of you can jump sideways onto 8 pallets using ONLY your feet with no hand assistance landing to two feet. Plus, remember you've got a unicycle to jump with, so it might weigh you down a tiny bit, plus tucking on a unicycle isn't the same as on a bike. I thought it'd be common sense lol.. and no, 50" is too big, even only a very rare handful of mod and stock riders can get that high consistently. Plus do you really think a seat is anywhere near as good as a handlebar, stem, fork, and front wheel for lifting your body to big heights ?
  16. Dunno if I can still come . coming home form boarding school at 12 o clock on sunday, dunno if its enough time to get there and get home by 7 o clock, at the same time getting a good ride done! I'm just hoping the group doesn't hold a race, seeing who's sad enough to get from Shell Centre to the other side of London fastest, as quite a lot of group rides seem to be like.. May be there, come on my YOONNIII. Could also get footage of Joe hodges 'trying' (no chance) to out sidehop people like damon watson on his one wheeler

    19" 36h Rim

My source, is Roger Davies, who is one of the best unicycle racers, thus he knows Kris Holm himself personally and rides with him, chats with him and such... So I think that Kris Holm himself will know that his rims are different to that of Viz/Koxx/Hog. Also, someone else did say that the Kris Holm rim holds grinds well, which the Koxx/Hog/Viz do not? so that suggests the KH rim is made of a different alloy. DX32s I'm afraid can't take as much beating as Kris Holm rims can, unstablebutable has flatspotted DX32 to buggery in not such a long time, yet his Kris Holm is fine, and he's been using the Kh rim for longer than he did with DX32. QUOTE from Loosemoose: Kris has had a lot of trouble with people splitting rims along the breaking surface due to the wear indicators providing a weak spot, that the repetitive twisting would make these rims basically burst along that seam. Since the 2005 model KH Trials Uni was released he's supplied them without the wear indicator to improve rim sturdiness. The following is a quote from a thread on the Unicyclist Community Forums, about the possible upgrades to KH unicycles for the 06 model year: So... therefore Kris Holm rims are not made of 6061 like Koxx, Viz, and Hog. And yes, those are Kris Holm's actual words.

    19" 36h Rim

Whatever anyone says, the Kris Holm rim is still not the same as the Hog... people say the Hog is the same as the Koxx and Viz rims right? Well, we compared some rims at a friend's house, and the KH rim is definitely different to the Hog and Koxx rims, for starters you can see that the KH rim is narrower, plus the middle ridge in the KH rim curves up a bit more. Roger Davies, the owner of Unicycle UK shop, confirmed to my friend Joe (who is sponsored by Unicycle.com) that the KH rim is different to the Viz rims, and Hog rims. And Roger is pretty much the grandfather of all knowledge when it comes to Unicycle parts, hog rim included. Maybe on paper KH rims are the same as Hog... but in real life they're different in width and shape. And going back to 'the same damn alloy'... Roger Davies confirmed to Joe that the KH rim is made of a different alloy to Viz, Hog, and Koxx rims. Also changing the width of a rim makes the rim different, it's as stupid as saying a Zoo mod stem is the same as an Echo Team stem.

It's not mine, things like that just happen I guess

    19" 36h Rim

Sadly, there's no super indestructible rim out there for 19" yet, not even Kris Holm...
  21. I wonder if the 'new' rims will still do this: Come to think of it, that could even be the new rim already
  22. I don't think UBA was implying that they were officially shit, just that if one pair can snap like that, then the rest can, I think it's just a small shock because the new CNC fork range from Deng seemed to be built for strength. Could end up with a similar snappage reputation as the Echo Easy fork.
