  1. Right, well I'm definitely coming. Tim Rodriguez, Chris Antoniou, and Dan Beaven are almost entierly likely to come (provided that things don't turn pear shaped at the last minute!) Joe hodges has no appetite for Reading at all, he doesn't like the place for some reason . I'll try and drag him out, whether he's sober or not.
  2. Sorry to break it to you Bigman, but that's old, very old . The Devil tees have been out a long time, based upon the Koxx Devil trials uni. Clothing from unicycle brand koxx-one. i've got that t-shirt myself.
  3. Me and Hodge Bodge will be there. My Reading-virginity will finally be broken. Hoorah.
  4. I've only read the first post, as I'm lazy and in an Art lesson right now! The only company I know of that are environmentally-friendly/mention that they care about the environment is Kris Holm unicycles (yes, very much Trials-related!)

    Profile Cranks

Poopipe, denting Profile cranks is the least of my worries. I've used Profile cranks and unicycle hub on my trials unicycle in the past, and so have many other street/trials uni-riders. The biggest problem with Profiles (race version, DJ, ss) is that they bend, the tubing is very dent-resistant though. Unicyclists smack their cranks a hell of a lot more than biketrials riders, as there's alot of crank-stalling and grinding going on. No one seems to have ever dented Profiles, it's always bendages and snappages that happen very often and quite quickly. Profile's aren't known for strength really, quite a bit of the BMX community regards Profile cranks to be not-too-strong. Mountain unicyclists also bend and snap Profile cranks (all different crank models), and that's quite something 48-splined cranksets like Profile can sometimes be a lot of hassle, compared to ISIS and taper. It's an opinion shared by many riders, and hundreds of unicyclists all over the world. Still, they're alright, if you can be bothered to spend that much money on them.. Tubular steel is inferior to solid aluminium, at least trials-wise. Trials unicycles have kinda proved it, seeing as all the newer sets coming out are ISIS, such as Tensile Unicycle cranks, Koxx-One cranks, and Kris Holm Moment cranks. All the old tubular steel cranks are being left behind in unicycling. I'm sure biketrials shouldn't start caffufling around with tubular cranks too far..
  6. mm, shame to see one go. Still, 04 Controls are probably one of the strongest aluminium stocks out there currently. You must be haarrsh to have cracked that!
  7. mmm, looks good. But, I'm sure people will bend the Profile cranks after a bit of use. Profile cranks are used on mountain and trials unicycles... and many many people have bent and snapped those cranks. Unless the new flatland Profile cranks are a totally redesigned set, then I'm not too keen on owning a pair . Still cool to see a diddy 'lil 18t cog on there though I just thought that 48 splines were a hell of a lot of hassle.
  8. I'll probably be there, Hodges as well..
  9. biketrials does not revolve around sidehops... Short frames can be much better for overall things, such as chuckability on natural terrain, or bunnyhopping. Long frames are nice for sidehops, agreed, but if they're a bit too long, average sized people might not get the most out of them. in any case.. you shouldn't really care about it much at all, most of the measurements are from the factory, and I always find that frames are longer than the factory state they are, when i measure them myself. (Yes I know there's plenty of factors leading to that, but still...) i'd be far more worried about bar/stem setups making the differences to bike feel. oh and: on your sidehop querie, I think you just need getting used to a shorter mod a bit more? I know of plenty of tall guys using short mods, just one example off the top of my head: Scott Robbens, rides a Monty 221ti, sidehops ferrking high, and a very good comp rider. As said on TF many times..:
  10. I feel the effects of the cold. But a lot of it is to do with if you keep riding or not. I found that my body went stiff and just unrideable last night after a bit of a rest, I felt cold and it was difficult to get that 'energy' back. Keeping warm helps a heap I reckon. Winter is a bit depressing, especially when it starts to rain in conjunction with the 4:30pm darkness. The dry summer evenings with 9pm or so sunsets were just too good.
  11. Weren't you all about mods not so long ago, Inur ?
  12. No, jake is kinda right about how silly narrow-minded people can be. A lot of people just think trials is where some 'kids' go out on their bikes and jump stuff and break stuff. They think that we're little devils sometimes, and it doesn't help that some riders are genuine chumps. Mouthing it off to police men and members of that public aren't clever or big, it's just chav-like and nothing short of mongness. I do agree that some members of the public are very narrow-minded and think negatively of others, which sucks. Just deal with them sensibly, but don't start being rude or cocky or it'll just get worse. THere are still plenty of people who are supportive of trials and enjoy watching it, like some families and couples walking through the street who clap and give some support when you're riding. Most of you London riders'll know who's giving us a particularly bad name by smashing up walls and being rude to a lot of people.
  13. it's alright, but its great to see that it's not coloured up like crazy on most bikes. A typical TF bike of '06 would consist of green, red, gold, or blue Deng cranks, and matching rims, as well as bars, stickers, pedals, dust caps, bolts.. how are the horizontal dropouts anyway? All of the new 07 deng stocks seen on tf are the horizontal ones, so are they holding up well? There have been problems in the past with 26" bikes with horizontal dropouts where the rear wheel shifts about side to side a bit. Mmm, these frames seem to have that problem sorted.
  14. Could I have one rear on please? First dibs,
  15. I've seen pictures of that Demonboy built up as a proper mod. to be honest, if it even does go on sale..most people will just use it as a mod.
  16. I'm not really the one to judge you Joe, but those sidehops look big, it's a huge step from when I last rode with you, which was not too long ago. I'll believe it, but some video footage would be awesome. ..But I swear you'd tuck a hell of a lot more on a 45" sidehop I know for sure Chai does.
  17. Ah, Rob, I think I bumped into you on Sunday near Shell on my uni. I recognised the bike from yesterday. I seem to recall some nice stuff from that ride, stealing Nikita from you guys in the evening! as well as this: Rob: Hi there Joe: I'm sponsored by Koxx Rob: (thanks for introducing yourself) ... or was that someone else he did that to
  18. , you think YOU got off bad on a wheelswap... Not been able to do anything but normal cycling on a bike since July 1st this year, up to now and onwards for god knows how long. You should feel lucky that yours is only 2 weeks! Mine's several months already Nice bike by the way

    Cls........

I agree with the others that the calmer, more mellow music worked well. I doubt that he's actually quitting trials, the impression I'm getting is that he makes it seem to his bummers out there that he is wanting to give up trials, when his actual motives are slightly different, possibly a change to stock or another sponsor for instance. dark chocolate digestives are dirt. anyone'd be silly to prefer them to milk choc digestives
