  1. Personally I've *always* gone for 4-bolt boosters, even though they are what, 5-10g heavier? The weight difference is minimal to a 2-bolt booster, and the stiffness of a 4-bolt is unparalleled. Also I've seen that 2-bolts are quite prone to being bent when people accidentally sit on it. Also it acts like a mother of a lever on the top two bolts pulling out. So for the increased stiffness and extra secure fitting (which has more support and less prone to bending or pulling the bolts out) I'd go for a decent 4-bolt of some sort.
  2. Is there any reason why rugby 'spandex' shorts wouldn't serve an equally good purpose? I've some at home, and if they are as good as the proper running/cycling/athletics versions then I'd be more inclined to use them more regularly
  3. You're quite welcome. I can see why a lot of other riders would call trials riders 'douches'. You really do not make a great ambassador for the sport David. I hope your attitude isn't a result of poor upbringing on your parents' behalf, if so, I feel sorry for you and them. Racism is frowned upon and generally 'taboo' in this modern society, sort yourself out before you go offending the wrong bunch on a night out. Peace.
  4. It's nice I always loved the massive chainstay yoke pieces on the 06 and 07 Pythons
  5. Grow up, you and your parents should be ashamed. Scots/Eng/Welsh are 'all the same' to many people outside of the UK, similarly Spanish, Portuguese, and Italians are sometimes 'all the same'. Those educated folk out there will know that Far Eastern countries have *enormous* cultural differences despite relatively similar ethnic origins. Each one has its own language and its own unique alphabet whereas 95% of European/Western languages all use the Roman alphabet (i.e. what we're typing right now). Those frames look simple, but I like them. One big let down: the lack of solid chainstay yokes. I like the extra bit of rigidity and stiffness it brings to the drive, not to mention, normal tubing tends to get crushed after a lot of sidehops... which I suspect is gonna be more of an issue on the driveside what with the chain getting crunched against the new Lite and Lynx's tubing chainstays on a slipped sidehop. I wouldn't mind the extra 50-100g just to have solid yokes. If the new Lynx got this, then it is truly a 2004 Python replica, come on Deng!
  6. Custom-cut Try-All tyre. At least a year ago it was very popular amongst Street and flatland unicyclists, esp. on the Koxx One team. They used stanley knifes and sand belt grinders.
  7. I'm seriously a fan of the new Lynx frame, only a slight bit different to the 04 and CLS proto Pythons I had. I kinda wish the seatstay booster area was like on the 04/05/06s though. Also is it just me, or does it seem that the new Lite and Lynx frames are lacking solid chainstay yokes?... I'm definitely anti having a whole length of tubing and no solid yoke. nonetheless, awesome stuff! (yellow GU frames?!)
  8. Thanks guys, sorted ! Here's one last bit that needs doing: bordered font. How's it done? Is there a little function on Microsoft Word that allows you to do this? I'm after this effect basically: white words with a black shade surrounding it (this is so the words stand out against my scenery background) thanks again!
  9. For 36h wheelbuilds at least, I know for *sure* that 3-cross is the optimum lacing pattern. Is this not the same for 32h? On the other hand 4-cross is actually more suited for 48h builds. This is all the general consensus in BMX anyway..
  10. This is what the snap-ring/ C-clip looks like.. I somehow don't think a pronged c-clip plier is going to work since this snap-ring doesn't have little circular inserts. It's just basically a very high tensioned wire-snap-ring, but how is it installed? No where tells you how. Anyone know?
  11. Hello there, I'm currently piecing together my page for our school's year book which is due in on Monday, however, I've nearly completed it and only just realised it has to be A4 in .jpeg format... the thing is though that I've been putting it together on my Word Document, meaning that it's literally a fat background picture in vertical A4 size with a bunch of other pictures neatly strewn across. Is there a way for me to convert this into a .jpeg file? I thought about the 'print screen' button, but a. it doesn't work on my laptop and b. if i tried that, it wouldn't be able to capture the entire A4 vertical page. Is there some sort of free software online or a method on Word, where I can convert the entire A4 page into a .Jpeg picture file? Any help'd be awesome! Thanks
  12. Hoyhoy! I'll cut it short: Basically, removed my driver out of my Nankai Bamboo hub. I needed to check something out and I ended up taking a C-clip off the one-piece driver (it's 9t, so the cog and driver has to be one-piece), which holds that black cover on. It's pretty important I get it back on. But... It's a complete bitch trying to fit it back on since the C-Clip is such a damn *tight* fit on the driver. I heard that there's a special little tool that can do this petty little job quite easily? Brute force with fingers and using chopsticks as wedges still doesn't work. I wouldn't be asking this if it were a simple job, which it may seem. Dayum, Is there such thing as a C-Clip plier/installer? There must be something that engineers and people at the factory use to make this process easy for the amount of c-clips they need to press on everyday. Any help'd be great! Thanks!
  13. You're kidding me? that is a bad burn. But I can't see how it realistically happened as a sidehop over someone flat on the ground is fairly consistent and simple on a uni once you've actually learnt the technique. Major chokeage? What happened in the end?
  14. It has to be said, this show is a total joke. Not a waste of time however, as we can all use it as a tool for laughing. The judges have no idea on anything except for maybe singing? Even for the dancing.. man, all these labelled 'Break dancers' (When the true dance is actually called B-Boying) are mostly just not even B-Boys, the are general Street/hiphop dancers much like what George Sampson is doing (mixing in Popping, Locking, Salsa, the odd powermove from B-Boying, etc.). Any mong can learn a generic headspin or windmill in a few weeks of practice (yes, I guarantee that personally! Two of the simplest powermoves in B-boying) but that does not make you a B-Boy. Hell no. George Sampson and Flawless aren't B-Boys or "Breakdancers", rather they are hybrid Street dancers (much like how normal people wrongly stereotype Trials riders as BMXers!) There is a huge bias towards dancers of all sorts, especially towards teens dancing. Yes it's flashy, but gosh, it isn't all that great? Remember Kombat Breakers from '07 ? The judges creamed their pants, and yes they were actually a B-Boy crew, but honestly they were terrible. The UK sucks at it, but heck, none of the dancing on BGT is all that great, I bet a guy/girl in your university's dance society is more talented and able. More deserving individuals from other fields who have spent years more dedicating to their art lose out to dancers on this show, that's just silly. "I know all about Break Dancing"- Simon Cowell to the performing boy in '08 (forgot his name)... riiighht. The fact that you refer to it as that displays your credibility Simon. No true self-respecting B-Boy would ever whore themselves out to get cheap fame this way (much like America's Best Dance Crew). Busking is better for that matter! Ignoring the bullshit 'break dancing' they show on BGT and ABDC. Those that want to see B-Boying at its best, go watch the Koreans. On a technical and competitive level, they are the monopoly. On another note, when are Thinkbikes coming on TV if they are?
  15. He's mainly a street rider, as in BMX/skate-esque, doing little tricks, grinds, stairsets etc.. And any decent street rider can easily cross into trials, and I know Jason can do fairly decent trials, but he majorly choked here. Badly. Nerves got to him and things went pear-shaped. Shame, could've been good!
  16. According to Jason, they edited it to make him look 'grumpy', I've still yet to see it. If anyone finds it online anywhere soon, chuck it into this topic! Thanks!
  17. That's a pretty damn harsh break. There is always the chance of there being a dodgy batch. But I think the Czar crank design may be weaker than the rest for obvious reasons.
  18. I missed Neon off there. They are pretty dodgy in a lot of components, did I mention Ko-Bikes? Though I do like some of Neon's bashrings. Agreed, some of Monty's higher end stuff is good, but a lot of the other stuff doesn't really impress me at all. The most ridiculous part is when they overcharge for stuff that is rebranded. Anyone remember the Dicta freewheels that Monty rebranded as theirs (well, there was no physical rebranding, but you get the drift..) and they charged them at a shockingly high price, not far off an ENO? A lot of the Echo stuff is good, I really do like it. I haven't heard of their 7075 CNC'd cranks breaking ever before, but I am surprised that you managed Inur! I think it's down the bad luck. I do wholeheartedly believe Echo to be a better brand than Monty in terms of quality, innovation, and value for money. Monty just still seem to be trying to live a little bit off its historical name.
  19. Totally. It's targeted pretty much specifically at BMXers who want to lose weight off their bikes. Though it does spill over into other cycle disciplines. I thought it'd be of interest to some of you incase you were building new wheels or something.
  20. Indeed *a lot* of it is! Though, I can't help but be totally honest here: Some of it is really standard and cheap off-the-shelf stuff that you see rebranded by countless other brands or tweaked ever ever so slightly. As a component brand sistered to Inspired, shouldn't it try to break out of the mould of being a fairly standard components brand much like Try-All used to be a few years ago; and instead aim to be an extremely high quality and innovative brand like Odyssey in BMX (whilst still maintaining fair prices.. like Odyssey!). One of the things I love about Echo/Zoo/GU/Czar/Adamant is that despite some minor problems here and there, they are a brand that keep their prices fair across the board and aren't afraid to push for innovation and totally new stuff. Despite the slagging off it sometimes gets, I'd say Deng has one of the higher quality companies on the trials market. For example, Zhi/Bionic stuff and some Monty parts I've had and seen on shelves in China and Spain, respectively, have more often than not had some parts that are just embarrassing in quality. You get that a lot in the BMX world though... on a curious note, has anyone ever tried the titanium bashring by Aorta? It's been on Selectbikes for a while now
  21. It'd be great if a store like Tartybikes could find out from all their stocking brands on the warranty for their parts. Maybe some sort of warranty page for each company detailing which types of components have X amount of years/months warranty, and if it's possible to get some kind of discount on crash replacement. It's a bit unfair not letting people know the warranty times. For those that don't know, Deng frames are a full year's warranty at least back in '06 it was. I doubt it's changed though Shame about your forks! Though, I'm not surprised that they snapped there, since the magura mounts welded on locate a lot of the stress there.
  22. Are there going to be any more repeats for the Glasgow ones?
  23. Deng himself calls GU.. Jee-Yoo. The brand stands for Ground Upwards Czar is another word for Tsar, yes, based off Russian monarchs. It's correctly pronounced Zar. The rest are more obvious
  24. Check out the flipbook for more information and pictures http://www.odysseybmx.com/features/interbi...kesAndTaperHex/ Not that I'll be needing nor using them, but some of you who already spend a huge amount on titanium bolts, axles, and so on, will find these a nifty addition.
