  1. Yeah that was my thinking, I have done loads of smaller stuff I'll see how cheap I can get it, I fancy an Urban camo....
  2. Those headlights look great with HIDS, my ex had some (I've now raped the headlights for the projector units ) I can't really afford to paint my cars front yet so figured I may as well put it together and use it I'm wondering about attempting a vinyl wrap on the car, has anybody done anything that big on here?
  3. Do those sorts of things really make a difference? Looks like a quick little project that'll cost naff all if so
  4. That looks baller, where did you get that from?
  5. The new levers are identical apart from adjustability I think? Pretty sure they all use the same fitting to the lever at least
  6. Ha ha, not quite what I was after although adjustable flaps sound kinky
  7. Forte is better than Redex I found, especially in diesels
  8. I want to have a badge panel like the turbo, but they are like hens teeth/sell very quickly. Does anybody know of a similar sized vent that I could use that is cheaply available from another car/from something else?
  9. Primer on, now to find some white
  10. Just drive on hydraulic ramps, they sit low and most low cars can get on them easily enough. Once you are on them you simply pump the foot pedal and they go nice and high compared to normal drive on ramps
  11. Is it wrong that I want to leave the panels just like that? I now need to get some paint, where is a good place to get some rattle cans mixed up? Mr Booth I may need your expert opinion....
  12. I do love the lights, I kind of fancy going to square ones and having a slightly sleepier look (also gives me room for air vents in the covers....) I've now got the badge panel off, nearly got it all prepped too. I need to wash the front panel of the car and give it a lick of paint so it all keeps nice under there. I will have to rework the front duct panel for the intercooler, I want to make it as stealthy an install as possible when I do get round to it
  13. The Porsche has been looking really sorry for itself recently, it hardly gets used and i've neglected it. After the most painful starting i've ever heard it eventually fired up (these things hate sitting about!) and was ticking over as nicely as it ever has done. I need to pull out the headlining as I have a leak somewhere but I can't seem to find it... Meh summer is coming! I decided that seeing as I don't have the cash yet to do the engine swap I might as well get the car looking more presentable for the summer as I have a few trips planned and it'd be nice to use this when the sun is out. The front end really needs some love after the front panel paint reacted and cracked up, as well as the front valance getting damaged when I had the engine out. I'm going to remove the front panel and make it bolt on as per the 944 (currently spot welded on) as It'll need to come off later for intercooler mounting. I guess I'll be using rivnuts to secure it with unless anybody has better suggestions? Spare front valance straightened out and sanded back, then a quick coat of filler primer (I need to get some more). Spare headlight covers sanded back (mine are dented and rusty) Poor car looks shocked.... Now to find somewhere that sells spot weld bits and gets removing that front panel (I sanded it in situ as it's quit a flexy panel on its own). I also need a compressor, i'm hoping a friend has one I can borrow or I could go back to Suffolk and use the one on the farm but that means putting the front together again!
  14. Now you have me looking for 9-3s again, such awesome looking cars!
  15. Whacked an expander ring on my 9 spd set up, works fine through the gears on the floor so fingers crossed all is good when I try it out! I want a narrow wide and half bash so I can ditch my round bash, chain guide and roller. Currently not running an 11t sprocket but will ditch the 12t instead once I have machined of the lip on the 11t (sits into a groove in the 12t so is wider spaced currently than the others).
  16. Jardo, which bi-xenons did you get in the end? Conversion looks neat and well done, but I think the black is too much for an already very dark car, body colour might look good though?
  17. Unfortunately I can't find any at present, I seem to remember 1" steerer tube fitted inside most 1 1/8" steerer tubes quite nicely though.
  18. Any chance you can do it for the end of August? I start school in September
  19. Extend the current one, it is very easy to do. You just need a tube to fit inside the current steerer and some spare steerer from another fork. Drill holes in each piece of steerer and taper the ends being joined and plug weld them togther, then seam weld the joint carefully grinding/filing the excess weld away. I've done quite a few forks this way for people with no issues
  20. Hell yeah, I can be free pretty much evening, not made any plans for that week yet
  21. I finish at 3 and you guys are 20mins away from work so fingers crossed I can swing by to say hello Haz, I have a spare bed at my place in Nottingham if you want, although I'd need you to leave at 7am on Friday as I have to go to work.
  22. Fo the amount these Tmars ones cost you needn't bother, it was a good idea at the time but it's not economically viable now!
  23. Yes that is correct for the hi-lo projectors (solenoid rather than motor though). A hi-lo xenon kit is different in that the bulb has a cover that extends for high beam, some of them had a second halogen tube on them instead but that's the way older kits. We have the H4 Hi-los with moving cover on our tractors, they are amazingly bright but glare monstrously for oncoming traffic, fortunately we don't really do on road stuff at night so it's not really an issue. If you have a HI-LO projector, you only need the 1 bulb, your main beam wire will go to the solenoid on the projector to open the flap and therefore let the full bulb output through. I would also rig up your fogs/driving lights for main beam too, every little helps!
  24. No you did the right thing, those cheap ones are awful and aren't proper projectors. I have some projectors from an R32 (not BiXenon though) that I was looking at fitting to some 7" units, there appears to be enough room but it leaves me stuck for main beam. Which units did you go for? What is the legality of retrofitting projectors as won't they technically need to meet some sort of standards (I'm aware of the legalities of non standard HIDs).
