  1. Yeah I meant to align it to the curve before taking the photo, I think you are right with the double. I'll get the marker pen out and get cutting later! Cars going to be chavalicious
  2. Yeah the pop ups do make me smile every time I use them. There is room behind, why? it's where the stock airbox sits Do I go single or double? If double do I have them inline or staggered?
  3. The with was actually a typo, you read it correctly the first time
  4. Instead of directing air on top of the filter it'll hit it centrally from total guess work, it'll certainly flow to the filter nicely still. I was thinking of ditching the pop ups and going with the GT lights but I think it starts to lose its 80's cool factor if I do that and then I lose the extra air too
  5. Ok so the two most likely Sundays are the 28th or the 5th so Ed can come (you all want to ride with Ed, he's a top fella)
  6. I just 3D printed a NACA duct for my headlight covers, I'm thinking something like this: I will need more air for the intake when I go 1.8t as the intercooler will block off quite a lot of the usual air path and I want to keep the filter as close to that side as possible so it's away from the exhaust manifold and therefore less likely to get heat soak issues (please correct me if i'm missing something here!). I'm worried this will look a bit wannabe though, but I can't think of any subtle solutions. I have a spare headlight cover so I might as well try it
  7. And you'll be grinning more in something that cool, I begrudge taking the modern daily out as it just bores me to death compared to the 924
  8. That's silly cheap surely? Nice one!
  9. So there are quite a few of us around here and it would be ace to have a group ride with you all. I've met a few of you on trials rides but not on the proper stuff! I'm thinking Cannock (most likely) or Pines, unless anybody has a better suggestion in the midlands area. If we do a trail centre it should be well within everybody's ability skill and fitness wise, that way nobody gets left out and we can go off in smaller groups of different pace and meet at the end if needed. Before we decide on a date, it would be good if people can give a general idea of what weekends they will be free so we can maximise the turn out, i'm thinking the end of June (27/28th) currently.
  10. The 5 pots do sound rather tasty, I can never find them for a sensible price though
  11. Why won't my video embed?
  12. Seeing as we are on page 924 and my car is a 924 this is necessary. I recorded my Dansk exhaust today, I love the noise my car makes and I love the little flames it spits when changing up Shame it's not very fast but the car really does make me smile massively every time I drive it! I also rebuilt my rear brakes after having the parts 2 years! It was all good apart from seized adjusters and one of the slave pistons was stuck.
  13. Yeah that's cool, I'm busy for the next few weekends anyway!
  14. That sounds a little OM NOM NOM
  15. I still like pines, it's good when you have a hangover. We need to organise a group ride!
  16. If that exhaust was slash cut it would look infinitely better! Have you got a sound clip of your straight through system Nick?
  17. I used a few packs of cards, some B&Q gold paint and a few grades of wet and dry. Still look good nearly a year later
  18. Whacked my Dansk stainless exhaust back on as I was told to take the day off and I wanted something to do. Oh my dayzzzzz I have missed that exhaust sound! I think I am going to chop the front springs another coil and get some shorter inserts (golf) when my new top mounts arrive then adjust the eccentric bolts on the back to suit so I can have some summer giggles, I have spare springs in the garage anyway so if I don't like it I can revert back to stock. Now to wire in a hot start switch so I can get the 5th injector to engage and not have to crank the car for a minute when it's warm...
  19. You know it'll be nanoseconds before that becomes the same as the Leon dude!
  20. Crystal clear ones don't have the pattern lines in them, I need some for a projector conversion. No worries!
  21. By any chance do you have some crystal clear headlamps Adam?
  22. I have to modify my linkage so that the lights don't pop up so far, I just haven't to round to it yet as I haven't a clue about what lengths i need to change it all to
  23. I was looking at doing some similar to that for the Porsche, they look HAWT
  24. Got a weird one. I replaced the Astras wishbones+ball joints, droplinks, tie rod ends and strut bearings due to worn wishbone bushes and an annoying click noise when turning-I figured I might as well do the lot whilst I was there. This noise is still there and only happens when turning, it's not the CV joint as it can happen when turning on the spot, it is as if the strut bearing is shot but they are new and turn seemingly freely! What else could cause this? Everything is tight under there and it's definitely happening on the NS front as the garage that did the tracking confirmed this when they had it in the air-they also could not identify the noise but deemed the car safe to use. The car handles better now and feels far more direct as a consequence of replacing some very worn parts!
