  1. you can buy bolt on plates with v brake mounts already on them for bmxs, i have a plate that bolts straight onto 4 bolt mounts and allows you to use a v brake on 26 or 24 inch wheels (Y) or convert a mod to v brake mounts sucessfully :turned: anyway, thought about makin aplate that bolts onto your old mounts and has new bosses lower down? if you get me.....should be pretty easy-ive been thinking of making my own to test out on my bike, cos i quite like the idea of tryin 24s on a spare frame
  2. yeah im still sceptical of it, it engages nicely and feels pretty solid but i cant see it lasting as long as a profile the hub itself doesnt look particularly speacial but nor does the profile-both a bit boring i find, it looks quite like a hope mono i guess but with a smaller sprocket carrier anyway we will keep you updated on it, bit early to say if its hot or not-i hope it stands up to abuse as it would make an afforable cassette hub available to mod riders at last o and adams hub is the race version with the 10mm axle-so no compatibility problems (Y) trials king55: pawls are 2quid!!! id happily take it off his hands if he wants to shift it :-
  3. yeah pretty much dude, sup with the old stickers? why not get some newuns made up thatll cover over them?
  4. u aint got any paint... the frames polished then laquered to protect it :'( if you remove the laquer ull have to remove it all and re-laquer it/paint it otherwise itll all look skanky paint the nitromorse on, let it bubble the laquer, then remove sit with water/wire wol, be careful cos you dont wanna scratch it unless you are painting it, which is a good idea, bloody silver bikes...... :blues:
  5. i wanan ride but i have no trials bike :( im not building up the base just for 1 ride :'( altho i cud ride the bmx :( but it just aint as much fun :P
  6. identity tuning forks if you wanna run a disc/vs pashley forks if you only wanna run a v B) both forks feel excellent :) and ar epretty much the same altho......your frame im suspecting is designed to be used with sus? if so maybe a longer rigid fork may suit it? perhaps something like the dmr trailblades? im unsure but its worth looking into cos otherwise the bb may be rather low-check out last months mbuk and see what they ran on thier full build :S
  7. avid ultimate lever linear slick cable (soon to be a nokon) sd7 callipers (soon to be avid ultimate) (Y) spanish fly pads (soon to be new heatsinks) atomlab aircorp rim-light grind (soon to be a d521 with a light grind) speacial bendy noodle-moves with the brake giving a better cable angle B) no booster as yet-no need-may run a carbon xtr :) uber nice brake as it is, gonna feckin rock with the upgrades-when i get my curtis (Y) used to run a standard 2 bolt, oil bled, magura, with cnc blade and koxx pads on the same rim and that was pretty good too :S o yeah it has a home made booster cos of the seatube hitting the oe maggy booster
  8. ding ding rob you are a senior member-cant you do it :D nice bike anyways, altho i reckon you should spray the frame like you did on the xtp-add some more colour :)
  9. yeah i knew what you meant but im pretty sure that atomlab rims are powder coated, so surely it should of had the same affect? anyway ill give it a go... lol i didnt mean go on the hunt for actual atomlab ones, just some cool ones in general, cos it did suit the bike rather well having the great big white blobs of writing on the side, i may make some up :( thanks for you help, much appreciated, ill let you guys know how it all goes for futute reference :)
  10. street is wicked, but i really enjoy natural too, basically as long as im riding something challenging im happy :( i voted street cos its what i normally do
  11. yeah i had 1, and it was heavy and dented easily :D none of my dirt jumper mates like thiers either but cheers for the suggestion (Y)
  12. when i ground my atomlab is was fine? or is that simply cos its powder coated? ill go on the hunt for stickers :D
  13. i think joe was reffering to the levelboss mod/onza t pro links, the coust/zoo/t rex links, etc (Y) not what it appeared that he meant every frame was based on the t rex, which would be silly :D
  14. ha ha nice, ill give it a try with my spare d521, ill spray it and re grind it-be fine (Y) where can you get the atomlab stickers from? or do you have to go straight to atomlab? cos i quite liked them :">
  15. ha ha dark grey isnt good enuff (Y) what sorta paint would you recomend? as its going over an anodised rim? i assume the standard spray paint for bike frames wont stick very well?
  16. yeah i have had some of them before, infact i have a ground 1 spare, but id much rather have black cos it suits my colour scheme :"> i know mavics ar eprobably the strongest rims out... spraying them up wouldnt work would it? the paint would just come off in seconds.... if it will work well then id probably run my ex721 on the back and a d321 upfront...
  17. hey all, im looking into some new rims for my bike, id preferably like to have black rims, that can take a grind the front doesnt need to be rim brake compatible and i would prefer it if the sidewalls were black i've already had the atomlab rims, and they were nice but i dont want them again purely because i wanna try something else i dont want wide rims, the widest ill go is around the 32mm mark cos i dont really need the width and itll make settin my v brake up a pain in the arse im quite liking the looks of the sun rims-which models perform the best? weight isnt much of an issue with me, i can handle it (Y) cheers, paul
  18. by using the lockout you will blow the seals, cos it aint designed for hard hits im afraid (Y)
  19. crm-magura crv-v brake same pad-different backings, i found my old crms (before i got a v) very good on a grind, but shit when they got wet i have the spanish flys on my v brake currently and they arent too bad, got good hold and modulation, but again-shit in the wet
  20. he he loved the video, so old skool...you guys were kinda freeridy-and your bikes rocked! id love to see some of the tf lot on the kinda bike you were riding, they wouldnt know what to do (then again nor would i) with narrow flat bars and cantilever brakes (or were they vs?), let alone no clearance for thier nads..... anyway something like the hans rey would probably suit you, im guessing you will wanna be doing jumpy stuff to?
  21. and what is wrong with v brakes may i ask..... anyway riding a shit bike wont make you a better rider....ive ridden shit bikes for ages and they didnt make me better setting up your bike properly is vital, if you set up the rest of your bike like you have your brakes then it must be 1 shabby monster to ride....its your choice, but you will soon find out 1 day, when you accidentally forget to top up you tar, go for that big gap and bam! your brakes slip and you are on your arse-thats when you realise you needed to listen to us, get the grind and set up your brakes properly....
  22. good on you dude ^_^ you wont regret it-are you trying to copy me? i had a t raptor, then got a base, you had a t raptor.....o look you are gettin a base :'(
  23. bases are the nicest frames ever... :'( ok maybe not, but for the price, you cant go wrong (N) ive had mine a year, at first i was sceptical cos i thought they looked a bit shit (horrible graphics and i wasnt keen on the tubing profiles), but after much recomendation i got it and i havent looked back, it handles sweetly, and the geometry seems to be the perfect medium for natural and street-well for me at least-im 6ft 2 and weigh 13stone im more of a street orientated rider and it suits me well, it bunnyhops well, spins with ease-the tight back makes it very easy to control on the backwheel (N) saying this i dont have much experience with longer frames, in general all my frames have been short-but thats purely due to my style of riding(never really seen the need to own a long frame) im no way smooth and after a bout a year and half of riding, maybe more now, i still consider myself a bit of a 'begginer'-yet the frame shows no signs of wanting to give up yet i run: identitiy tuning forks, rear v brake, titec rip stem-80/90mm 10degrees rise, easton ea70s 2inch rise and pig headset with a 10mm spacer-i guess those components make the most difference in the way it handles give a base a try, they are versatile and are well worth the money-raub on the forum has one for sale :- and its mint-i suggest buying his if you are unsure about bases/cant try anyone elses out, cos its the closest to a new 1 that you will find cheap i think ^_^ i reckon for the money you wont find anything better (i hear the new mad is supposed to be good though, but i cant back that up from personal experience yet), and i think it still gives more expensive frames on the market a run for their money... i like mine lots :(
  24. sweet-anodised silver though? surely its just brushed :- cos its already silver raw....hmmm maybe ive missed something? anyways hopefully when my base hanger breaks (1 year old and still going strong) they will have the same one ready ^_^
  25. ha ha if they are adjustable down to 80mm i may take them-120 is a weee bit long methinks :P
