alright there, in a few weeks i was thinking of getting myself a mini moto to mess about on, i was gonna use ebay but the trouble is-i dont know which ones are good? i dont really wanna spend a great deal, but i dont exactly want some wank that falls apart..... wouldnt mind one that suitable for taking over a few little jumps cos it looks pretty fun <_< so anyway, what have your experiences been with them? anything i should know? cheers, paul

mines full of bite, more than the bb7 was-and that had damn good bite must be poorly setup/not fully bedded in ali? or maybe im lucky B) everyone else who owns one seems to like them <_< im liking the idea of mixing and matching brake parts, i may give it a try :)
-
hell yes it is! i had a bb7 with nokon cable and an ultimate lever and it has nothing on the juciy-however the bb7 was an incredible brake and i would go back if i had to basically the juicy wont overheat like the bb7 which i found to be a huge advantage, as well as that really nice lever-its well designed :) bb7 if you on a budget, juicy if you want the best (i prefer them to mono trials, etc)

avid juicy 5 :) top brake :- keep away from magura..........wank wank wank
-
itll fit fine :)

i was merely pointing it out to you dude........some people forget about compatibility issues that arise with shimano products personally i wouldnt bother with a deore, and just save for a avid, discount or no discount-i doubt you will be as happy with a deore as you would an avid however, you can upgrade the deores to bigger sizes-i suggest about a 180mm rotor+adaptor, and/or some ebc red pads to increase power from my experiences with both the hydro and cable versions of the deore brakes, i would say the avid pisses over them and just save (Y) or run a decent v brake which will also piss over it and quite likely be the same price/cheaper
-
firstly they arent exactly ideal with just a 160 rotor size and all......and for the price an avid is a better option secondly the rotor-is your hub a 6 bolt or shimano spline hub? gotta make sure it comes with the correct rotor fitting thirdly avid rock and for cable brakes, you shouldnt be thinking of buying anything else (Y)

curtis forks, tuning forks, onza rear hub, atomlab rim, d521, several mechs, hangers obviously, formula disc rotor, few grimeca brake callipers, maguras, snapped a v....., several sus forks, pig headset, monty stem, loads of chains, loads of square taper bbs, few deore cranks, bust middlebruns (Y), dmr v8s, shindigs-prob more broken but i cant remember-to be fair im not surprised by alot of them-the only products there that were truly wank for me were curtis forks and maguras-the others had good reason to die now i break far less stuff-modern components have come a long way (Y)

read that, although if he has the extra cash, im sure they would ship one over to him anyway-weight wise-ever thought about drilling the rim out? saves a few grams (Y) also tyres make a large difference so you can save weight there too (Y) i g=havent seen the latets funn rims-got a link?

540 for sure  mine was bitchin

it seems to be the luck of the draw......... get edd potts (dave85 on here) to take a look at it-hes pretty nifty with them (Y) alternatively you could have the cylinder bored out, and a new sleeve put in like on the older hope levers-that would certainly sort it (Y)
-
go ali (Y) i run a rear v on both my mod and stock-they take the piss on how nice they are (hs33s are shit in comparison in my experience) on the front im undecided-no no to hs33 of course, but i kinda liked running hydro disc, cable disc and a v-they all have their pros and cons-but in general a hydro front disc feels best and is most reliable  best combo ive found for me is: avid juicy 185mm disc upfront (no upgrades-but some ebc red pads would make it unbelieveable), and at the rear avid ultimate callipers, linear slick, plaz crvs and a ultimate/xtr lever(i like both) thats what i run on my mod-and its top notch braking (N)

i meant long (that is if it has any sort of similairities with the t rex other than the shape.....) in terms of 24s, as the current ones are all considered short, no problem to me as thats what i prefer :D
-
bloody tartybikes tsk :D that frames really growing on me now, i think its a great idea to make a long bike in 24-it'll catch on even if people dont like it now............
-
that guys ace, i love his stuff <_<
-
we didnt say he had to..........its just then he can steal whatever parts he needs off the hub when he wants to-tis always handy to have spare cartridge bearings as they can cost alot new.... the axle itself isnt a standrad bit of rod-its a steel shaft with varying thicknesses along its length-much like a hope hubs axle
-
i have a mint onza hub sitting here from my 04 t raptor spec 2-it just needs 1 new pawl as it has a chip on it, add me to msn if you interested in it (Y)
-
www.thehun.com (Y) ermmmm i dont really look at much on the net-only really use it for research and downloading music :(
-
clean the existing rotor with washing up liquid and a brillo pad, make sure the old pads are in good conditon and are clean and make sure the calliper is alighned otherwise: ebc reds, or a conversion kit so you can run a 180mm rotor-so either a adaptor plate or a new calliper half+a new rotor
-
profile, i wouldnt bother with the echo until its been out for a while and is proven, im very sceptical about it-but for good reason (Y)

gonna sound like a b*****d...im not overly keen on it, its not horrible by any means, just im not in love with it few upgrades here and there and that could look good :(

CurtisRider replied to stock trials the real sport's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
base............i feckin miss mine, wish id never sold it :) they are 1 of the best frames out in my mind in terms of geo-i simply loved it :P the mads however..........no experience on the new ones, the old 1s were gash, but saracen seem to be sorting themselves out nowadays :P i want a steel base :P -
