  1. I just dont like the way they look. Ive never been sold on Onza. I dont like internal headsets.
  2. Funnily enough, I looked at the new T rex, but was put off by the rectangular tubes. I pictured a bloke with a hacksaw cutting them to length. I know thats not the case, but they look cheap. Im not too sure about these long low bikes, but am open to suggestions.
  3. I figured I wouldnt get much for the money, but I'm no tart. As long as it rides well and stays in one piece Ill be happy.
  4. Hello Looking for a new frame so I can "retire" my aged pashley. Looking to spend up to £250. Not a huge budget I know. Was considering either a Woodman T pro or a Planet X Alibongo. I ride stock. I wont go for an Onza at all. I ride a good mix of street and natural. What do people make of these frames, and are there any other suggestions? I would Ideally like a steel frame, but sadly, no one seems to make them any more, within my budget. Im not particularly tall (5ft 8), and like to front tap. I dont want a super wide BB either. Thanks in advance Steve I forgot to mention that I dont like these high bottom bracket frames either. They feel far too perculiar for me.

    .~

Make sure he realises that the half of the cutter tool marked "L" is not for the left hand side, its for the right, which has a left hand thread. Get this wrong and the frame is trolleyed. If you already know this, I didn't mean to sound patronising, just its a common mistake with over keen mechanics, I'm sure most Halfords stores have at some point had someone trash a frame doing this very procedure. Its not necessary on every bottom bracket change, but it is good practice, as being the lowest point on a bike (forgetting bikes like the Vinco thing etc), all the dirt and water collects there and makes it all skanky. I changed the BB in my Trek xc bike last night and the shell was full of rust even though the frame is aluminium. I think it was corrosion from the bottom bracket itself. It does screw into the thread like a bottom bracket, i.e tighten towards the back, loosen towards the front. if done correctly it will work fine as the two halves of the tool lock into each other, acting as a guide for the other side, making it near impossible to cross thread.
  6. Thansk for all the advice. I have decided to listen to the pros (Doctors) and you lot and rest it for a while. It feels ok, but I have torn some muscles for it to have come out, so I guess these need time to heal. Plus I have chronic hayfever now so going out riding in all that pollen is for me like being stuck in that Tokyo subway when the sarin gas attack happened. I will have to do some physio soon as well with a giant elastic band, I guess it should come quite good though as being a trials rider the rotator cuff is already well developed.
  7. Its all the same stuff with different stickers. My ES3 had the same back end as my mates zebdi, which implied its from the same jig with robots programmed to cut the same patterns, in the same tax free to foreigners warehouse in China/ Indonesia/ Taiwan etc. At the end of the day they are all 9 tubes stuck together. I just think bike companies now are more into making money than decent products. As for the steel bikes all looking alike, the twin triangle design hasnt been improved upon for over a century, also theres alot to be said for riding a bike you know someone has put together with care and skill, because they want you to be on a decent product. Robots dont have emotions yet do they?
  8. Whatever!!! Its all about generics these days. Clones. think Zoo, Onza, Coustellier. Echo Hi Fi, Koxx thing with holes, Koxx level boss, echo thing just like etc etc etc..........
  9. Koxx "Hello, is that Wing dung Mow factory, for generic bikes?" Bike Factory "Yes, herro" Koxx "This is Koxx here, please can we have 500 of those frames you made for Mr Echo, bit a little different, you know with the holes in" BF "O.K, would you rike anyfing else with that" Koxx "Yes can I have a container full of Nike trainers too" BF "Let me speak to my friend, I get back to you" Koox "Thanks" BF "I put invoice in post" Koxx "OK thanks" .........or you can call me cycnical if you like.
  10. Id say the black one. In my experience, white bikes dont stay looking good for long. They show up scratches and blemishes, and oooh the stains are sooooo stubborn. Which one is the ali bongo and which is the zebdi?
  11. Still doesnt make me like aluminium as a frame material. Steel is readily repaired, doesnt fatigue, and in my opinion looks a lot cleaner as the tubes are thinner. It doesnt dent so readily, you dont have fragile gear hangers so you can bend them back if they get bent. They are also in my experience stronger than aluminium.
  12. I collided with a BMW and dislocated the shoulder downwards. Had to go to Hospital to have it put back in. It feels okish today but I am trying to find out the best way to look after it so I can get back on my bike as soon as possible.
  13. Just think alu is a cheap way to make a light bike. Would much rather have a well made steel bike, made from decent tubing, than a mass produced generic long bike made in china (peoples republic of) from recycled coke cans. I currently have a 26 Mghz which is a well made good quality steel frame, and an ES3 which rides better but is alu and I just dont like it as much.
  14. Does anyone know of anyone making long bikes in steel? (God Forbid,) as I dont like aluminium and my pashley is a bit dated now. By long bike, I mean those bikes that everyone measure in terms of wheel base. Also do all long bikes pitch your weight over the front tire or is this just Adrian Jordans bike that does?
  15. Has anyone here dislocated a shoulder? I have just done mine on Thursday, and am itching to get riding again. So what I woyuld like to know is how long do people find they need to rest it before they can ride again?
  16. Yeah dislocated shoulder, sling for a bit etc. type one handed, so people here will muller me about spelling. snobs. oh well. was looking forward to giving the pashley a good ride.
  17. Sorry for the blow out chaps. Got knocked down by a bmw, and have had my shoulder replaced. no bikes for 4 weeks now. bollox
  18. Tomorrow night (Thurs) at about 8 somewhere. Ill be on my Pashley.
  19. I did a ride on Monday at Virginia Water. Had wanted to ride there for about 6 years. Finally got over there on monday. First log I found I threw myself delightedly at and went over the bars, thus throwing the bike to avoid bars through leg incident and snapped my rear hanger. Anyhow bodged a loose chain single speed repair with a chain tool, which was ok, and then found one of the nicest rocks to ride in the whole world. Got home then took apart my disabled echo, to bring my old Pashley out of retirement, only to find my bottom bracket tool doesnt fit ISIS things, so am now without a ride as I am too lazy to rebuild the Echo, and dont ever want square taper middleburn near a bike of mine again. Hope the tool I ordered arrives in the morning. Its too sunny not to ride. SO yes it does happen like that. Especially when you are new to trials as you are more clumsy and crash alot, unless you dont try or you are an Adrian Jordan clone.
  20. That was retraded. Gav has got so good. Any more on the Mr Saunders?
  21. Who would like to ride Woking some time this week. Preferably after Tuesday as my Echo has broke and I am building my old Pashley on Tuesday night.
  22. Hello Jonny. That was a lovely video, but I hated the music. Oasis are one of my least favourite bands. Was that Ian "how much do your forks weigh" at the end? The Leeson is rather fine machine and suits you to a tee.
  23. Word up ghetto holmes. I shall be coming along I think. Will probably need reminding though if anyone sees me beforehand.
  24. Ive decided I dont like you because I am jealous of your rocks. Seriously though, nice to see someone doing natural instead of the usual "long bike goes round town" pics/vids.
  25. Some people.... I havent even looked at the RB site, as I dont have internet access (does anyone see the sarcasm or am I going to have be ironic and point it out?)
