Seeing a Davey in this thread made me wonder what happened to the real Davey? He was odd. -
What Are The Good Bmx Retailers (Online) In The Uk?
Max Quinn replied to Matt Vandart's topic in Chit Chat
Noooooo. I hate that place. They 'list' everything, but don't actually stock much of it. Their phone lines are shit, and despite them saying they're a 'bmx only' store, take about ten minutes of your time going through just about every type of bike you could possibly imagine. Eventually when you do get through to them, they're not too helpful. You can only tell how decent a service is once something goes wrong imo (or if you've used them so long it's obviously not gonna happen), and they're diabolical. -
Yer definately man, sounds sick over those boom bap Illersapiens beats too, you notice the first tune he was on was an instrumental City of Industry, but switched up lyrics? Someone showed me some of his new album the other day, it's gonna be absolutely intense!

Harrison hits home. I literally used to despise dubstep (still got a lot of hate if it takes over d&b raves haha) cos I hadn't dug deep enough, but I've come round to the fact that there is some goodness amongst all the shit. It's almost known now for a cold, screechy, highly mechanic and heavily synthesized sound. It's also known for the traditional 'kick kick snare' break but that's only how it's progressed and the format commercial dubstep seems to have settled on. The early days when it was finding it's sound dubstep produced some unbelievable music, and there's still people pushing stuff like that. I also think the 'screechy-drilly' sound is something that's come forward as it's fan base has changed (at least the majority of it), from garage, grime, dub and jungle heads to scene kids. If you ask me through that fan base, and the producers they spawn, it's become influenced by heavy metal (and other varieties of the such) with Skrillex for example, coming from the band From First to Last, there's a few others as well I care not to remember. Personally I think Skrillex style dubstep is just filthy noise, in it's literal sense rather than the 'filthy noooiiisseee' all the student dubstep lovers bang on about. Generally a bit too electronic for my tastes too. That's all pretty irrelevant, but I think I needed to think through dubstep on paper (kind of) so there you do. To the op: I dunno how to your taste this will be but the kind of dubstep I like can be found in Solitudes Mixes on his Soundcloud. This thread on d&b forum is an absolute gold mine as well.

Haha mate our house may as well be a bike storage facility with the ammount of people that pass through on various steeds. Pretty sure there's about twice the ammount of bikes as people in our hallway right now. Edit: We're in Winton by the way, multimap here. We can walk into the town center fairly easily so on a bike it's nothing. An got nuff pubs an shit around us.

Yer that should be fine then man. An I'll have a dig about, but obviously got a load of pillows, sleeping bag x1 and the odd blanket etc so should be able to patch together something relatively comfy.

What time'll you be getting into Bournemouth mate? I'm in London that morning but should be down on the coach by mid afternoon. You're welcome to crash at mine, although I can't really promise a bed (unless one of my house mates dissapears for the night which is semi likely to be honest) just floor space.

Quite possibly the best result this thread could have had.

I'll just leave this here.

I'm not a violent person at all, but last night I pretty graphically beat someone to death in Tescos with a stick of french bread

Saw '25th Hour' the other day. It's a Spike Lee film so visually pretty awesome and cool directing. One of those films that makes you wonder about it afterwards, lots to brood on. Reccomended. Maybe slightly too subtle in places but that's partly what's good about it. It would also help to be American probably.

In student houses though deposits are looked on more as being about covering your treatment of the house rather then as an actual deposit on your moving into the house. You also sign contracts that say you will be moving into the house and able to pay the rent, if you're not then your parents or whoever you've put on your guarantor (you have to have one) become liable. Student landlords/letting agents will do anything to be able to charge you more admin fees etc. The nicer ones will allow you to back out and lose your deposit, no longer being liable for the rent, but in a lot of contracts they don't legally have to, and you have to pay the rent until a replacement can be found. Realistically though, finding a replacement shouldn't be too hard and you could easily do that before you need to start paying any rent (first rent will probably be sometime during august if you move in in September?).

Yer Kate's fitter, but she's not exactly available, unless I get my royal assassination on I just spied some girl posting this to another on facebook, with lots of virtual giggling and annoying high pitched girliness ensuing. It seems the man's got more then just his royal status going for him.
-
This. I didn't watch it but have since sourced pictures on the recommendation of just about every lad on my facebook news feed. There's definitely a race now on to wed her and become royalty.

Another pikey encounter I just remembered was when we used to build a skatepark in this big abandoned factory. We were pretty young, about 14 or so, so we bricked it when we started seeing this group of pikeys pulling up every day with a van, unlocking their own lock which they'd put on the gate (novices like us threw our bikes over the fence) and coming in. One day they walked right past us, just nodded and said 'g'day' or whatever and went on as normal, so we eventually talked to them and it turned out they were just there for the copper wiring. They seemed pretty happy just letting us get on with doing what we were doing as long as we gave them the same leniency. The one good experience I've ever had with pikeys.
-
The worst thing about them is the cocky 10 year old ones that go round skateparks just looking for someone to give them shit back, then promptly run off to get all their family armed with bats etc. I remember someone at Watford Skatepark got a decent sized chunk bitten out of that muscle between his neck and shoulder. Interesting fact: A mate of mine with pikey family told me that if you finish you're pint and put it upturned on the table around pikeys, that basically means you'd like to fight each and every person round the table, one after the other. Who's gonna be our guinea pig?
-
I f**king hate pikeys. That is all.

To be fair pretty much all adverts do this to some extent. 'Prices from £3500' etc, when it's pretty rare you'll end up buying it for that, VAT, shipping etc will all be a bomb on top. If you buy anything over about £50 without doing your research you're pretty foolish anyways.

Hero nice one man. And cheers Webber!
