Haha, to be honest i actually think the hats themselves are allright, i just cant stand them because of the kind of people they represent round here

I completely understand what your saying, but whereas alot of scientific terms have no easy substitute, alot of philosophy terms just seem to be fancy words for stuff that could be easily put into the conversation without using them if you know what i mean? I may be wrong there, but that's not really what i'm driving at anyway. It's not the existence of these terms, like i initially said they're fine if they keep them relatively to themselves. It's the fact that the philosophy students at my school (i'm not saying all of you, that's why i narrowed it down to the ones that actually do this rather than just saying 'philosophy students') use these terms and philosophic jargon in completely unrelated arguments where there's simply no reason to go that deep. They just do it cos they can and then look at you smugly because they equally know that you won't understand, not realising that you don't actually give a shit. Nail-head. I also get the impression a large ammount of people at my school take philosophy simply to get this sense of superiority. Haha, well to be honest i am just taking a cheap shot as far as i can tell that's what this thread is for and untill you replied to what i said i didn't really consider trying to effectively argue my point and convince people round to my point of view. What i said was hardly a neat, educated way of saying it but i think it got the point across and swearwords and colloquial language aren't always a bad thing in writing for exageration, i'd rather keep semi irrelavant jargon out of this for obvious reasons, but this is something polemic journalism often makes use of As for the beanie, it's this kind of thing: but generally worn much further back on their head as if to actually conceal dreads Although the whole flip flops in winter sounds like part of the whole poor, scruffy, travellor, creative artist type look i'm driving at.

Dickhead posh philosophy students. Don't get me wrong i think philosophy as a concept is allright, but at my school the only thing it seems to teach is fancy words for stuff we all think about just as deeply anyway. Now this would be fine if they kept it to themselves, but in arguments/discussions they seem to find it impossible not to talk down to you and bring in these bullshit words when they know fully well you won't understand them because you don't study the same bullshit subject just because you think you're such a deep, creative thinker. Those long beanies that people wear that hang off the back of their heads. The people wearing these generally seem to also be dickhead posh philosophy students, going for the scruffy art fag look. The whole 'deep thinking' vibe seems to go along with thinking they're rastas just because they smoke green every other weekend, ocassionally laugh along to bob marley, and wear hats that hide pretend dreads. EDIT: Please note, that first point has no relation to Ben Rowlands on here While he does use alot of stupid big words i get the impression he uses them to talk alot of sense.

If he was jumping into a conversation acting like he's the dogs bollocks on the subject and acting like he knows alot more than he does, before doing some furious backtracking when getting called out on it, i certainly wouldn't blame you.

Got an offer from them?

Thank god, i thought this was gonna be another thread about the decline of member intelligence, the cool crew and how trials forum has turned shit.

Atmosphere- The woman with the tatooed hands. Sooooo good. Almost every atmosphere song is pure artistry, no-one in hip hop goes deeper.

Photography at: Brighton Nottingham Trent Bournemouth Arts Institure Portsmouth Manchester Met Got interviews at Notts and Portsmouth so far, don't apply to brighton till a later date and waiting to hear from the others. Dave, which Bournemouth did you apply to? Arts Institute at Bournemouth yer? Cos i originally applied to the main Bournemouth and the photography of that is actually at some random shit campus in Salisbury (pretty much nowhere near haha). And AIB has a better rep aswell so i switched sharpish.

I used to swim ALOT, for like, club and county and shit. But then other things just took over and it got to the stage where it was kinda either keep doing what i'm doing and not really improve, or make it my life, step up my game and get better. Needless to say, i chose bmx, mischief and a social life I still enjoy a blast at the pool though. Like said, aim for a km and get that time down, then aim for a mile and do the same. Maybe alternate 1 length crawl with one breaststroke. Also use a pullboy and do arms only stuff (you'll be suprised, you can go pretty much as fast as you concentrate on your arms more) to help get the technique right on your arms. Also do legs only with a float, see how quick you can do four lengths and you'll find your legs burning. Good way to increase leg muscle for riding. The funnest thing ever is towing. Get someone to just be a deadweight (lying on their back) and hold onto your ankles and you have to swim four lengths arms only with them holding on. Doesn't sound like much fun but the fun comes when they get off and ytou sprint a few lengths without them, feels like your flllyyyiinnngg. We used to have a bungee cord at club training where you had to swim to the end of the pool with a bunjee attached to your ankles that started straining about half way or whatever. That was always funny, especially when you disobeyed the teachers and instead of disattaching it at the end just let go and let it ping you back to the start haha.

I see what your on about, and i'm guessing someone will have made one. Don't see why not considering loadsa companies have made speakers for mp3 players which come out the headphone jacks. Would just need to be a smaller plastic speaker and have the jack coming straight from it rather than on a cable. I reckon they'll all have 1 or 2 AA batteries in em though. EDIT: I figured when i posted that you had actually bothered searching. But the first result on google (for 'attachable ipod speaker') brings up this That the kinda thing your on about? Also see: this and this None of them, however, will sound good. For £30 and that size that's an impossibility. Probably be similiar to a decent phone speaker playing music,

I've been exactly the same for the past year or so, it's wierd. On school nights I always go up to my room before 11 but however hard i try just can't sleep and usually end up finally drifting off between 4 and 6, meaning not much sleep at all. The thing is though, i seem to still function fine during the day so it doesn't really bother me. It also gives me alot of time to work on creative things that i otherwise might not have time for like drawing, cutting stencills, reading etc. I've come to believe it's due to my personality rather than anything else as what stops me trying to get to sleep is always creative inspiration and ideas for sketches etc. I'm definately more creative at night. I just honestly can't not think about things like that when i'm doing nothing else. However, if i ever sleep at a friends house i get to sleep alot quicker so the whole stimulating room thing maybe partially true as there i obviously can't just get up and sketch out, i think it's more to do with that fact that if i ever sleep round a friends hosue i'm usually heniously drunk and pass out more than sleep though Things that help me are relaxing music, i tried classical but i think it's better to have something with words and a story you can concentrate on as it stops you just still thinking about other things. I find more mellow hip hop tracks and alot of jazz influenced hip hop suit me Another thing is to always have a notepad and pen/pencil on your bedside table. This means that rather than get up i can just write down or quickly sketch the thoughts that are in my head. Getting them out of my head onto paper stops them buzzing round and makes me feel satisfied that i can go to sleep. I find it's also really useful to hold onto those thoughts and inspiration you have at night that you may otherwise forget by the morning. I would never reccomend weed to anyone as i don't think it's something that should be reccomended to you and should be completely your choice without outside influence. However, a spliff always helps me get to sleep at the end of the day. It's great if you want a nice relaxing long lie in and don't have to be up the next morning. However, i find it puts me in a much deeper sleep which is hard to wake up from so i wouldn't really reccomend it when you have school/work in the morning, hence my new years resolution to stop smoking weed on weeknights (for me this is easily achievable at the click of a finger as i have quite good self restraint but it's something i want to do at least in the short term just to see how it effects me). Meh, maybe some of that will help you, maybe it wont. But to be honest i find the nights are a nice time to be up, when it's all quiete with no distractions, it's peaceful and i'm more productive for sure.

Well done batman i'm happy with your proof. 13 year olds have alot of time on their hands and to be honest i don't think psing cars reaaallly takes raw skill, just time and practice. I didn't ask him to do the same car though? I just asked him to go wild with that in the same scene and with the same back right window. The chances of him finding another car in the same scene already photoshopped are pretty slim so we atleast believe he did that last one right?
-
I actually kinda believe you, but just to prove this once and for all. Do that picture again however you like but the back right window has to have thte original tint and view through it and it has to stay in that road scene.

Get a proper girlfriend. Ride my bike more even if it is f**king cold! Take more photos of stuff outside bmx. Save a bit of money. Stop smoking green on school nights. Draw more, make more slap ups/wheatpastes and generally get up a bit more. Get good at mixing. Have loooaaadsa fun.

That's bullshit Graffiti artists don't go out thinking 'aahh im gonna go damage loadsa property', they go out thinking 'yer i'm gonna go paint some pretty letters' Likewise, trials riders don't go out thinking 'aahh i'm gonna go destroy some walls', they just go out wanting to learn tricks. I can only speak for myself, and like I've already said i'm not denying that there's alot of c**ts in graffiti (same for trials really), but criminal damage is generally not the main goal of a writer. For a start, if your art is really damaging it will get removed straight away or the police will get more hot on you. An example of this is how when spraying trains you never spray over the carriage numbers and a few other bits, because if you do the train has to be resprayed immediately, which costs alot of money for train companies and means your art gets taken down straight away. But then there's also the fact that even graffiti artists DO have some morals. Another unwritten rule is no hitting private property or small businesses, which i admit may sometimes be broken by over zelous beginners, but that's like the fact that the whole no riding on churches, war memorials etc is often broken by some trails riders. I know someone will argue, 'oohh but then the government have to spend taxes cleaning it etc' but it's exactly the same as trials and let's face it, the government aren't exactly amazing at spending our taxes anyway. Your basically talking alot of rubbish about something you know nothing about, i'm all up for a difference of opinions but the assumption that all graff artists DO want to harm public property as their main goal is just straight up uneducated.

Haha fair enough, nah to be honest i can't help much cos i get the same problem. But i thought it was cos we're using the free torrent finding places that are shit rather than pay for or invite only torrent finders that only the cool kids can use? Either way though, it has only been half an hour since you posted
-
Yer but you could be using torrents to download all kinds of legal shit. He's obviously not, but the internet police don't know that EDIT: To sloooooow
