Yer if i'm not going somewhere else at the same time I might either work reading or just hop the fence and campsite it up all weekend just cos a load of people will still go haha. An yer a few people said that to me as well, sounds like it might be a killer for 10 days. But they've got much better facilities then uk festivals so can at least get a decent shower every morning and live like a normal person which might help a bit i guess. Yer is just the airport we'd go to then get a coach but not really having the best geography I just whacked barca down as a kinda estimate haha

Right so I know it's pretty early, but it's time to start thinking about festivals an holidays an that for this summer, which is currently causing a fat argument among our group of mates Having been to NASS and Reading for the past few years it's definately time for a change and somewhere foreign, hot and with a beach is on the cards. Basically got a pretty big shortlist to whittle down to 2 or so. Beach Break (In Wales, jus cos it's pretty cheap an the location looks incredible this year) Bennicasim (near Barcelona, 10 days of pure sun and 4 days of music, but lineup is pretty shit and I'm told the location is pretty scummy) Outlook (in Croatia, pretty hectic dub/reggae/jungle/roots lineup with some d&b, dubstep and hip hop thrown in and all held in a fort ) Sun & Bass (Sardinia, amazing deep d&b lineup, amazing location, but it's hotels rather than camping, and music will be in clubs which kinda spoils the fun) Sunsplash (same place as Benni, pure reggae/roots/jungle/dub/dancehall which could be amazing vibes but crowd sounds all a bit too 'alternative' for my liking) Where's everyone else thinking? Anyone got any experiences with the above festivals? Particularly Bennicasim cos that's where alot of the group is feeling but I'm not too keen on the idea just because the lineup is shit and a lot of people that have been told me it wasn't that special.

How many scummy abandoned places you gotta explore before the end is in sight? Different strokes for different folks man.

To be fair this is a discussion forum, and if everything just stayed on topic it would be pretty f**kin borin. Not to mention I think he's making a good point pretty well, whereas you're just beefing about him being pretentious and trying to impress with his typo knowledge, then straight after dropping bombs like 'i for one can see right through it' and 'post modernist swiss letterforms'.

I went for 'cripple yourself' just because trials forum needs its dramas and trials and tribulations. The past has proved that the sensible option is never as fun.

Too popular an mainstream man

Why are they bad cos they're illegal? Plenty of good things are illegal and plenty of bad things are legal in my opinion. If you wanna do it, do it, but just do your research (actually no, don't do mkat do something decent). This whole 'I dont wanna live in a downward spiral' is absolute bullshit that's been drummed into you from years of scared and misinformed teachers an parents an that. It does have all those bad effects, I'm sorry to hear you're mate got f**ked up on it, plenty of mine have too an it's shit. But at the end of the day some people CAN deal with it and not get too sucked in. I know people who've been blazing quarters a day (£40) for years an somehow manage to still lead a normal life an it hasn't effected them, then others who've turned into social rejects within the space of a year blazing an eight at weekends. Like any drug it's about personal limits an you've just gotta not be stupid or macho with it, but also not subscribe to this whole 'drugs are bad' attitude.

Yer fair. Hmmm jus general long times. This girl is literally my best mate in Bournemouth, an like you say we're part of the same really tight group of mates. She had a boyfriend when I first got to know her so I allowed it, then when she split up with him it felt like we were too good mates to f**k shit up. But now I'm realising I like her a lot more than I thought an would feel like a massive pussy if i never did anything. But it's the kinda odd situation where It's hard to flirt as we're so tight as mates, an jus straight up telling her could f**k everything up if she doesn't feel the same way, which I think she might not do to be honest. Heeaaaddf**k. -

Check out Arts the Beatdoctor. Like RJ some of his tunes have mcs but a lot are on a really similar instrumental vibe. Just get hold of the album 'Transitions' and have a listen

I'm not a fan of Meph at all. I don't do anything that requires eating/snorting anyways, but having seen mates to it for a fair while I feel like i've built a pretty accurate opinion of it. It's moreish as f**k, rather than a euphoric buzz I'm told for most people its a different sensation, for some even aggravating kinda thing. It's rediculously moreish and just makes everyone either wanna chain smoke, do another key, get another drink etc. Just because you have to do something. Also just makes you look like a massive mug just gurning away and generally makes my best mates act a bit wierd an boring. Not to mention the fact that our generation are guinea pigs which all seems a bit dodgy considering how many brain cells it makes it look like you've lost when you're on it. EDIT: Also to be completely honest it seems to have taken control of a large majority of my mates, and generally a large majority of the d&b/dubstep scene down here, in a much bigger and more addictive looking way then any other drug, which they've generally done all of other than Smack, Crack etc.

No offence Craig, some of those artists are my favourite lyricists, but there also known for being the darker, usually more depressing side of UK Hip Hop, a scene with a pretty negative attitude to begin with.

Yer fair enough, each to their own I just like clever lyrics and well told stories I guess. Not a fan of the flow or style either.

I'm not such an old school head, but other than what's already mentioned some of the following have that kinda vibe you're describing. Abstract Tribe Unique Blue Schollars Braille Collosus Company Flow Doomtree Eyedea & Abilities Freddy Joachim Ghost (athough he's a producer so the vibe depends alot on who the tracks got on the mic) Giant Panda (not too much of a fan but alot of peope like him so judge for yourself) Grayskul Guru (who's in hospital after a heart attack so show some love) The Herd J Dilla (legendary producer) The Herd Jazz Liberatorz Jazz Poets Society Mr J Madeiros Murs Muneshine Madvillain MF Doom Gangstarr Mick Boogie Moodswing Ohmega Watts Othello Pete Phully & Perquisite Life/Phi Life Cypher Psyche Origami The Roots Soul Position Souls of Mischief A Tribe Called Quest Ugly Duckling Wale Should be enough to work off lol. I know it's 'deep' an all, but i swear their lyrics literally just make no sense half the time, and they just put stuff in literally to find a rhyme

I think it's more that they just don't give a shit and the clubs want money haha.

Tell that to my half cast mate whos id I used a fair few times before I was 18
