  1. I'd still take the mil, purely to plug it into property. 100k doesn't get you much.
  2. Haha sorry Mike. Some hip hop for you.... This whole Mouse Outfit album 'Escape Music' is unbelievable... One of my favourite summer jams... Paradise... Cappo... Anything Joey Bada$$ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF3XmnVGUbA Anything Madlib. Souls of Mischief tunes. Arts the Beatdoctor. J Dilla. Kev Brown. Pete Rock & CL Smooth. I've got a load of playlists (UK Hip Hop, US Hip Hop, Liquid D&B, Dubstep, Garage etc) on the Broken Culture youtube channel that might be worth a browse: https://www.youtube.com/user/BrokenCultureUk Also for deep dubstep, check out the 'Solitude- Ambient Dubstep' mix series. Not all ambient but just the deeper, non screechy side of dubstep. On the electronic side of things and going off the three tunes you've got, I'd go for people like Synkro, Indigo, Biome, Eleven8, Bop, RJD2, Four Tet, Mecca 83 and Ninja tune stuff.
  3. Another vote for Vidahost. I use them for all my own stuff as well as clients website's and they're spot on. Amazing customer service.
  4. Just posting so I get notifications to remind me to get involved when I got a minute.
  5. Gardening is the one mate. I do the odd bit of gardening work, albeit in London mainly looking after posh apartment complexes etc, so it's a bit of a different situation. But even so it's fun, rewarding work that keeps you outside and doesn't take that much kit. I'd reccomend just starting off advertising to do gardening jobs for people. Advertise yourself more on the hard labour side, a lot of which will likely be ripping out bushes/dense foliage of gardens that have got way overgrown, to get a bit of experience and start learning then go from there. Ideally down the line once you've mastered it all, you move into landscaping a bit more and get a contract with a building firm to do all the gardens of new house builds. Then you're quids in.
  6. If you think you're a photographer, you're a photographer. Doesn't mean you're good at it though.
  7. That sounds like a logistical nightmare.
  8. I don't want to worry you, but if my (very brief) time watching made in chelsea (my housemate has dire taste) is anything to go by, that type always appear gay so he's probably not.
  9. That bird stuff's wicked! Found an old film from Carnival day lurking about at the back of a dusty draw somehow....
  10. Anyone wanna swap their SD cards for my CF cards?
  11. Added a music page to the website.. www.maxjquinn.com/music.html
  12. Ban for multiple accounts. But on a serious note, people I know who've had depression have got over it by finding that one thing that they really enjoy and feel they're good at, and putting everything into it. Exceling in something helps bring back self worth and you only excel through hard work. The ammount of illustrators for example who've been through stuff like that is unreal and, as daft and irrelevant as it sounds, they're better illustrators for it. Same goes for some of the most prolific graffiti writers about. It boils down to what Danny was saying about releasing those endorphins and what does that is different for everyone. You need something you can really concentrate on and put everything into. At the end of the day though, you just need the understanding that everything get's better eventually. I assume you're young and growing up's hard for everyone. It's easy to feel alone but pretty much every adult will tell you they had some sort of insecurity when they were young (and still do to an extent), it's just that many people hide it very well. At some point in life, you realise everyone is dealing with very similair internal things as you, learn to spot it in even the most confident, seemingly 'sorted out', people and that makes things much easier somehow. You care less what people think of you when you realise that even the c**ts that may take the piss are like that to make them feel better about their own shit. What do I think about self harm? In short, I think there's much better ways round the problem.
  13. That's on point Dave, other than the (obviously intentional) wonky ears I wouldn't have guessed there's any trickery in there at all and would have skimmed straight past the photo. But the more you look at it the more wierd it seems and you can't work out why.
  14. Cheers! (And to Mike again). Just went in to a shop and had a play, although I much prefer the shape and ergonomics of the d300s (as I've come from a d200 like you), I think I'm gonna have to go with the d7000 for general quality and better video. Although it feels a bit small it doesn't feel flimsy in any way so I'm sure I can get used to it.
  15. Cheers! Gonna have to find somewhere I can try them both I think. It's really a toss up between 1080p video and build quality/ergonomics. I love how bulky and solid my d200 and the feel of a more pro body. Wiith my shooting style it's forever getting knocked about. But 1080p could definitely be useful.
  16. Shot's ill Mike! My d200 has just broken (a snapped CF card pin that I'd previously bent back into place so I was always expecting it to go eventually) and I need an upgrade but I haven't paid attention to new kit for so long I'm a bit lost to be honest. Which Nikon's should I be looking at? I was originally looking at the d300 which I can get second hand for £550-600, but I've just clocked it only does 720p video and not 1080. Are there any Nikons in a similair price range with 1080p video that aren't plasticy entry level models? Good high ISO performance is also a big priority.
  17. I'm not saying you have to do it mate, but if you ask me that's the reason the vast majority of people work hard. The joys and benefits of family and being able to provide a good life for them outweigh the cons of working. It's a choice people make of their own free will, and if you don't want kids then one you can do without. Don't think I don't sympathise with your way of thinking, there just comes a point where you realise you either.... 1) Get involved with some job that's purely for money. 2) Realise you are going to have to live without a lot of luxuries, experiences and be a bit of an outcast from society in general. 3) Work your arse off and make your hobbies your work.
  18. Wife. Kids. Family. Question answered.
  19. Mark, I see your point. But please, try not to encourage him to go harass the severely ill.
  20. To be honest I kind of know what you're talking about with 'couldn't give a shit people', but to be honest most people like that I know who smoke seem to deal with it fairly well. Sure, it may make them lazy, but people like that are generally in an alright frame of mind and pretty comfortable in life. It's the people less like that who've got more inner demons messing them around that cannabis f**ks over properly. Correct me if I'm completely wrong but I just feel like you're approaching this from an educated, scientific point of view with things like 'you can't overdose', but have none of the actual experience to accurately form an opinion. One of the main things that makes me think that is your last sentence, you've got to understand how different it is to alcohol, people don't generally 'go out and get completely wasted' on weed once a week to let of steam and that's it. People do it mainly to relax and when they're not going out, so it's much more likely to become something you do every day.
  21. Most people I know that drink a lot are in much more stable and healthy frame of mind then those that don't drink much and smoke a lot. From my experience, it's more addictive as well. Not just me but looking round at people, it easily becomes a definition of a person rather than something they do at weekends. I've seen people go down some really shit paths through gange and seen people sectioned so my beliefs are what they are and care not for you thinking they're shitty. Cannabis is a great thing that I love, but it's not for the weak minded, and I believe legalisation would see many more people messed up by it. The only benefit of legalisation is that they could try and encourage certain more healthy and less potent, mind destroying strains, but no one wants to smoke some shit bushweed so people would still just buy illegally if that happened. And yer, that's exactly how I feel about gay marriage haha. The selfishness in my attitude is something I've already pointed out myself, but the fact is, there's much more important things to be worrying about then whether or not someone else can smoke plants when if they really wanted to that much they could generally just do it anyway. Edit: Typical that I got sucked into this after only putting finger to key to say that 'poo poo' is an entertaining phrase.
  22. No because I want to drink in clubs, pubs etc as a social thing, Cannabis isn't the same as that. I have no reason to blaze other than places I currently can even with it being illegal. I think it will mean more people use it as well to be honest, and I don't really think people smoking rather than drinking is a good thing either.
  23. Well I'm not selling it and I still couldn't care less. It's understandable if you get piss tests at work, but for the majority of people it's not gonna make a blind bit of difference. In fact, I'd probably rather it stays illegal so we don't have a ridiculously unproductive country, full of scitzoids that just don't have the frame of mind to smoke, but I can still have my spliff after work. Call that selfish but whatever.
  24. Why do people that blaze care if it's illegal or not? It doesn't really effect me smoking other than the negative stigma being a slight irritant. If you like it and it doesn't make you some tin foil hat recluse, smoke it, if you don't, dont.
  25. Remember? I'm rolling a club to it as we speak.
