We spent half of last year turning my mates shed into a fully functioning room for him and it's now absolutely epic! I'll try and get pictures if I see him while I'm at home. Between us all we had apprentices/people working in the trades of refrigeration/air con/heating, plumbing, sparkie, brickie and I was getting cheap shit from b&q and did the finishing touches by painting all the walls with characters an stuff. It's fully insulated and carpeted, nice heater, under counter fridge/freezer, microwave/toaster etc, 2 sofas, double bed, massive wall mounted tv, ps3, water running in from a water but plus all the novelty's like wall mounted ash trays, swinging lighters etc. Literally the only thing missing is a toilet.

Yer but I don't think people actually realise how much it messes up your sleeping even a few nights after etc.

Good shout Dale, if the answer to that question is 'yes': Nail ---> Head.

I had exactly the same problem as you for the last year or so, but I honestly thing in all but the very worst cases it's just routine. Basically my attendance at uni wasn't great cos a lot of the lectures I didn't feel were relevant to me (poor excuse I know) but over the last 3 weeks I've been working full time so HAVE to be there. The first week was hell but after just three weeks my sleeping patterns moved from sleeping 6am-3pm kinda thing all the way to naturally sleeping 1/2am-8am. I haven't been going out much in those weeks though so the real test will be when I actually go to a rave on the weekend and whether after 2 weekend nights of being out till 10am or so and sleeping during the day I'll still be able to click back into it easily.

I'd love to be given the job of trying to wake you up, the fun that could be had.

Cheers lads! An trust me you'll hear reaaal minimal in the minimal/downtempo d&b mix I'm working on. The stuff in this mix sounds like an angry train crash in comparison.

One of my new favourite producers. Reaaally nice instrumental hip hop/trip hop/down tempo whatever you wanna call it goodness.

Yer I think a lot of people are missing the fact that that's a sexist joke of an oxymoron.

Safe! You have good taste

Hero! I'd rather just ride my little bike to work every morning, ride it back again at 5pm and then hole myself up in the blissful, warm bubble of my room and not care about all the idiots getting themselves stuck to be perfectly honest.

Yer cheers man, figured some people might notice it or down the line realise it an think 'hey that's pretty cool' or whatever. That first ones sick by the way! Finding it difficult to work out the order of the words in between the 'imagination' and 'and write your' lines though.

Just bump student fees up

Cheers mate! Let me know what you think.

Easy, My laptop packed up last month so I couldn't record November's mix. Just catching up on it! It's kinda a spectrum of d&b, starting with kinda headnoddy tech, then moving on through liquid (threw in a bit of RJD2 for good measure) then going into harder tech at the end. Cheers for listening. Stream or download it here. Can anyone give me some crit on this? Is currently gonna be part of a website header, but will eventually be switched up a bit into a tee design too. The main thing I'm wondering, an I know this isn't obvious by looking at it but I like the underlying idea, is that at the minute how condensed the lines are (how solid the letters) is supposed to represent the grooves on a vinyl of a drum and bass tune. Obviously people here won't be familiar with it, but you can see the intro on the BRO (grooves on vinyl are lighter and less dense when the songs quiet), first drop on the stem of the K and the first verse all the way up to the start of the C. Then the breakdown on the second half the C and the U, and second drop at the stem of the L. Then a second verse to the end of the R and the outro on the E. It's not that obvious looking at it though, so I'm wondering whether to keep the idea or scrap it and just have the letters in the middle being the most solid and then fade out equally on either side? But then on the other hand I think it's nice as an underlying idea.

Game on. The reason I felt it more fitting to start mine from the start of the academic year was because it was when I'd go back into a different routine after having summer fun so may as well start that routine well.

I made mine at the start of the uni year instead, but they haven't all been accomplished so I'm renewing my vows at New Years. The ones in bold are the ones I've been doing well or I'm on track for, the italic ones I kind of have, and the rest went fully out the window. Get out of bed at 10 latest on weekdays. Write one short story, and one article per month. Record one mix per month. Get to a decent standard of tune production. Run a regular blog. Get some tee shirts out again and take it a bit more seriously. Save a certain undisclosed ammount for travelling. Travel South America this summer. Full attendance (within reason) at uni. Get at least a 2/1 this year. Start shooting more photos not related to uni again. Draw more. Swim at least twice a week. Start playing football again. Only bun on weekends

Just watch 'Mesrine' which was pretty epic. Although it's a 2 parter and the first part leaves it on the most savage cliffhanger and has no real conclusion or sense that you got anything out of it, so make sure you've got enough time to watch them back to back.

Do you not think this relates to time as well as simply physical being, seeing as time is the 4th dimension. If there is no time for something to exist, then there is true nothingness. For example, we were chatting about the age old 'whats at the end of space thing' the other day and it's probably complete bullshit but it occured to me that if space is growing faster than time, then the time for the 'area' outside of space doesn't exist, giving us literally nothing.

Perfect sunday evening chill.

Pffft I refuse to even think about Christmas untill after my birthday on the 11th. Although at least the christmas tunes they're playing in work at the minute are better then the top 20 on loop.

Yer was savagely long and cold haha. Although at least we had certain 'supplies' to keep us goign. An it's all gone now, the rain pissed it away on friday night so now it's just savagely cold instead.

Bit of a rarity innit, everyones going mental! Last year it seemed to snow EVERYWHERE but here. Some lads were on the roof of Lidl opposite our house lobbing snowballs down so we just collected loads of snowballs in a bucket and got a vantage point on them from our highest window haha. Me and a mate managed to get stuck on a hill in her little corsa last night and had to wait 2 hours for the RAC though

You lot in halls are getting robbed I swear, especially for being up north. Last year we payed £290 each per month without bills (for a big 5 bed house, all double beds other then 1 which was a pretty big single) and bills were probably about £25 each per month between 5. This year we're paying £340 for a similair house bills included but we were late on the market so are paying over the odds, all our rooms are massive though I doubt you'd ever get anything similair in halls. Some people I know are in big 6 bed houses with all big double rooms and are paying around £310/320 including bills. Edit: For Captain Scarlet: going on 5 bed houses, Internet/tv (Virgin) is £25 a month or something so that's £5 each a month. Then everything else is payed quarterly and I never really worked it out but I think it must have been about £25 per month mean.
