  2. Ok, nah, thats ok, everyone has had their own experiences. I ave found the best forks I have ever used all happen to be alloy forks with steel steerers! The steerer seemed to be pretty thick to me, but I guess only time will tell, I didnt examine it in too much detail.. It has held up for tonnes of nosehops so far though! The forks I would most compare the build and looks of the viz forks to, however, would be the pace 26" expert trials forks, but much shorter. They both happen to be my favourite mod and stock forks
  3. Get some light forks- echo urbans or ashtons? Nice bar and stem Could loose some weight from the rear brake by getting a rim brake/magura? V8s are fairly heavy- perhaps get some cheap onza/planet x/ VP caged pedals, they save a bit of weight OOh and a light front tyre! panaracer XC pro 2.1?
  4. my record on my old giant stock was 9 foot giving it some serious aggression, from a pedalkick into a big pedalkick gap. On my mod, howver, my max is around a little below 8 feet as a guess. By the way the world record is 10.5 feet, 3.3 metres i believe
  5. I have the black anodised viz mod forks. They seem really nice, and i love how low it makes the front end- great for hooks! They are shorter and stiffer than echo teams by some way, so if you are planning on doing any hooks, I would definately reccomend them. its investing in good kit, rather than slightly lighter, but weaker, flexy forks which will leave you less confident in your bike, and possibly have to be replaced after 6 months. plus, the viz forks look much better! lol. they have nice fancy bits
  6. ENO's can be gotten for £70 and upwards though, and they are lighter. If I can get an ENO for £70, and the cheapest place for a profile is £146, im starting to get a little more tempted by the ENO
  7. I weighed my onza carbon flat bars and have found that they weigh 380g!! Yet they are claimed something liek 283g or something... has anyone else found this?
  8. Are you sure the echo team stem is the same geometry as the onza t-master stem? I thought the t-master stem was shorter and/or higher rise? Also, someone (i think someone on here) said it was the zoo stem which had the same geometry as the t-master...?
  9. The power alone is insane, but how you manage to control it is impossible! Testicular beach balls
  10. Whats the cheapest for a profile? And whats the cheapest for ENO 72 click version? Cheers for the comments people, its greatly appreciated
  11. Have you used an Eno before? Where are you getting it from, or where is cheapest/what rpice? Cheers
  12. Which do you prefer? White Industries ENO freewheel, 72 click, £85ish (?) (but trousers have to be rolled up to avoid being ripped, so u look like a gimp, plus I will have to buy a fixed rear hub instead on my new rear wheel (probs aroun £35)) so total cost £120 or Profile mini cassette rear hub, 48 click, as used by quite a few people so seems relaible, £135ish (?) plus screw on cog needed for cranks, so another £20 makes total cost £155 Who here rides with a profile rear hub, and how do they find them? Is the extra weight noticable? Have either ENO users or Profile users had any problems or anything? Cheers, Scott P.s. do all you people who use front freewheels roll up ur trousers??
  13. What bike do you use it on? Do you do sidehops, backwheeling and everything? I might get one then, cos from the sounds of it they are good enuff?? I actually use a planet-x gigapipe stock stem (100mm x 23 degree rise) from my stock, with stackers, with my planet x goliath pro bars (2 inch rise) put forwards and upwards to give more length and rise! I think this works out around the same as having a 130-140mm reach stem (horizontally) with flat bars and a 30 degree rise as a guess.. But it is very hard to tell! Do high mod stems help for sidehops for a non-tall person (5 foot 8) like me?
  14. Does anyone use the onza t-master stem? Its the one thats £22 from Tartybikes. It looks like it has a huge amount of rise and not much reach (145mm reach and 40 degree rise??) How does it affect your ride? Does it limit gapping, etc? Do you think it would be suitable for a monty 221? Cheers, Scott
  15. :P Yep, more awesome riding there dan. mmmm Viz stuff. lol. Keep riding the mod, I think it looks really good, and ur sidehops were awesome too nicely done.
  16. For the monty carbon-look stems with the sloping stemcap thing, can you use an Xlite stem plug (e.g. the ones which don't use a star fangled nut, and have their own stem cap)? Or do you have to use a fancy one which comes with it? I just like my xlite stem plug a lot- its so simple compared with having to use the old star fangled nut, etc! I want a monty stem on my mod, but also want to keep my stem plug- is this fine? Cheers Scott
  17. Are koxx/viz ultra-wide drilled rims very light? How do they compare to other rims? What are the lightest mod wheels?
  18. Cheers guys, you have all been a great help :) B)
  19. Are there any real disadvantages to having ultra-wide rims, as long as they will fit? (Yes, I am considering Viz/koxx 46mm wide MOD rims, but I will definately not be grinding them!) Is it true they pinch flat easier? Because the tyre is more spread out, is the bounce of tyres reduced or increased? What are rider's experiences with them? Cheers, Scott
  20. I think taller people do have an advantage, because naturallly they have a longer maximum possible extension to preload over and pull the bike up more, etc. But small riders can be amasing too (just look at Riki Muruta... he's AMASING rider in my opinion, I look up to him because Im not exactly tall but it gives me something to aim towards when Im blaming my lack of trialsing skill on my height!). Smaller riders may be a little more limited, but its up to skill and exercise to reach your physical limits before taller people should really exell over you.
  21. Yeh thats the only pic ive seen of it too.. He sed that the other day ^^ but I cant seem 2 get his attention since. lol. If anyone knows him can they tell him 2 check his messages cos I PMed him. Cheers
  22. Hey bongo, I PM'd you.. Are you still up for selling your frame for £150? Cheers Scott
  23. LMAO, yeh I have got that video too, it cracks me up so much. I pissed myself when they made the jump harsh with barbed wire, etc, made the chav jump it but he bailed and started 2 cry
  24. Could you send me a pic of your frame? What year is it? How much use has it had? my emails squit007@msn.com if u need it. Cheers
  25. Hi, does anyone know where to get a 221 frame only? Ive emailed cleanbikes (I couldnt see it frame-only advertised on their site), but no reply yet. Also, what are the prices? Cheers, Scott
