Pretty surnatural sidehops... as usual... smoother landings too... I like the 90 turn landing on a beam.
-
Yeah, I think the group ride makes it.. more than the actual playground... All the pics are in high res if you want any...
-
That was not bad after all... though, I am still not convinced there is much to ride in Cambridge... I am looking for the big summer rides in London Will post more pics soon.. By the way, if you want the high res photos, just send me an email with the pic numbers you want... I'll send them over (the files are about 400kb each). We are probably about 5 regular riders (well Olly got an addiction to BMX so I don't know if we should count him as one )

Hello everybody, That was a nice ride, though, I'd never ridden trials on ice before... I have just posted some of my fav pics on the Cambridge Winter ride album I loved the palets section... and the blurred effects in Lion's yard...
-
Cool No lames excuses this time... .. On every occasion, I heard you complaining about your bike and come with an extra chain, an extra hub, an extra brake, an extra...
-
Yeah ok... gettin' old and that... Really bad for your Christmas lunch, can't you wait Christmas???
-
OK, so far, that's Alex Craig Peter Joe Olly John Todge Djb Tom Simon? Pinky? Wing? Steve from heatsink? and myself Who else is coming? Just add your name to the list if you'r not there yet. That should make a nice group ride . John and I just found a huge stock of palets readily available for abuse... Hope the weather is not gonna turn crap by the WE. See you all in Cambridge.

Wheel-swap Hop Up/sidehops (from Backwheel)
TrashZen replied to Shez.sheridan's topic in Trials Chat
Maybe that page on the wheel-swap and that one on how to land to front wheel is what you'd need. And on sideways rear hop The extra thing you need when sidehoping from the rear wheel is to really aim the front wheel over the obstacle... with an angle to it rather than purely paralel to the wall. And you need to really follow your shoulders, rather than just push the bike forward. Hope it helps -
Totally agree with Mike Really riding for fun, I think it takes a lot of commitment to become a world champion, and I missed that train, but I guess if that is what you want, then it's normal you take it seriously. Yeah, fitness is a bonus, else, I just can't think of any other sports that I would enjoy as much and that is so simple to practise anywhere and on any day. Same, want to learn new techniques and come back to old zones, look back, and think... Woaahh.. now it's all too easy... Just came back from 45mn of casual training nearby my place... completely chilled out for the rest of the day. I prepare most of what I eat... and seriously, if you want to make a difference, food a key factor. You don't need to go organic to eat well, but have some balanced meals, do the odd bit of cooking eat pasta and eggs if you train a lot, and plenty of water. Junk food is actually anything but nutritious. Its' propaganda of the taste.

Yeah, that's a very nice move. Well, from trackstand position, give a good pedal kick but turning into your bad side (instead of doing the 90 degree opposite your driving pedal, you go 90 degrees to the side of your driving pedal) You turn the first 90 degree during the kick and lurch over the gap as much as you can, then you carry on the move aiming the front wheel first (a front landing will allow time for the rear wheel to realign and complete the 180 turn). I don't think you'll get it on your "good side" if your good side is opposite the driving pedal .

I Need To Grease My Pedals But Dont Have The Dmr Grease
TrashZen replied to Joe_Elding's topic in Trials Chat
Why not seal or whale grease?? That one is a classic... Sorry you made me laugh so much... Usually, animal greases tend to oxydize steel, compared to oil-based based greases. -
Thanks for the thread... Just got back to 18/15 ratio (=1.2) to give it a try... much easier than the 18/13 ratio I was running before, or the 16/11 (=1.45) before that. And somehow, yes.. I can feel more the techniques taking place, with less brute force into the moves... I am a new born trialist
-
Yep... side hops this WE... I am gonna put you on a hardcore training schedule ... then bugger off to spain again
-
Yep... Will be there, weather permitting B) (I am just back from Barcelona, and hardly recovering from the temperature gradient :$ ) There are a few good places in Cambridge, after all ;)
-
As promised, some pics and action from the day... B) That was simply awesome, plenty of zones, all skill levels, insane demos by Cesar, and sun non-stop. Why did I leave Barcelona?????? :$ ;) Check out the pictures and videos and the cool zones. B) :P
-
Yeah, Well this place is a bit out of town, so there is no real joy being a chav overthere... Though I don't mind hanging around for a little but of sun tan (Y) Will post pics next week (Y)

Hey, mechanically, if you think about it, the down tube only works in traction, not in compression, and that's what cables are good at (Y) . So It could be actually stronger than a rigid tube, providing the fixing points are sturdy. I really like the innovation there... But yeah, in trials, instead of denting a ghost down tube, it would probably fold the bike in two (Y)

Yep, that's an official announcement happening this saturday, Cesar will be launching its Biketrials school at one of the biggest Bike Parks in Spain near Barcelona, with permanent indoor zones etc... I hope to be posting some pics on my return (will ride some of the zones too, hopefully without killing myself (Y) ). I am looking forward to that long WE. (Y)

Monty's are the only one I 've tried, but offer excellent ankle protection (N) , fantastic grip and will last ages (they are all tough real leather stuff, got mine for over 2 years now, <_< ok maybe I should look for a new pair)
-
That's why you've got dozens of world champions at any one time (20", 26", BUI and UCI rules, under 15, under 18, expert or master etc... that makes loads of combinations) (Y)
-
That's really cool... I love the chin banging the stairs  Once, I edited a video of someone hoping up stairs, but took out all the pics where he was touching ground... So it looked like he was hovering over the stairs... but it's easier to make as it is just video editing rather than motion picture..
-
Amazing ride there  and really nice action pics... I love the front hook, and the wall ride with that no-skateboarding sign is a classic!
-
Really excellents pics, you can tell it's pissing rain... though I like the effects... Did have some rides like this in Belgium <_< Waynio, how can you 180 gap on wet blocks? ^_^
-
Will do some time next week. ^_^
-
Yep, damn right about the subtitle... :o OK, Matt morphed into Matt again (this was some lame cut & paste (Y) but thanks for pointing it out) Olly, when I get a chance, your profile is on (will have a nice wheel swap on that rail at the skatepark.B) ) Joe, never got any reply from you since the last Cambridge ride. So couldn't do any guess work about your profile. Though I have some decent pics. :D
