Olly C Birthday Ride! Cambs Sunday Jan 29th
TrashZen replied to Olly C's topic in Member Organised Rides
Olly, You are a star , dangerously slipping into your twenties Will try to make some vids too this time. We have to make the most of it when you are in town (and not on BMX ) ) Weather will decide... attendance... By the way last WE, Simon, Pinky , John and I came across a rather big gap from wall to kerb. That'll interest you for 5mn. -
OK, How do you take out the jpeg and www.jpg.com tag inside the video? The videos I try to compile just come up with all that tag staying on screen. Is there an option to take it out?

Yeah, there is a campsite nearby, either at Premia del Mar, or just a stop from there. And access to the tracks and trials zones is free. I'll try to find out exactly what are the best campsites nearby. Or maybe Rhythm, on your next trip over there, you can ask around. Cheers
-
Hey Rhythm_101... yep, that's the one. But it's not at the skatepark. From the station Premia del Mar, you have to go up for about 1 mile and it's there. Plenty of cool dirt jumps too for you. The tracks have tables, and several big doubles to launch big air. Just me being silly again.. , dirt on a trials bike.

Yep, its' all about the right hitting speed, then shifting/bouncing over the front wheel and chaining a wheelswap on the move. check out some illustrations I have put together. The key thing is enough speed and keeping your shoulders moving forward over the edge, so that you end up rolling on the front and leave the rear wheel bounce up 90 degrees to follow in some sort of wheelswap. Just got my first real hang of it last WE.

Yeah, take your time on the engine, commands, bike behaviour etc... Then mapping is probably just cosmetics. Don't rush . Time does not respect what is made without it.

That's bloody annoying . Right, people simply want to be assisted all the way, all along their lives.. and whenever something upsets them (like an accident), they want to blame someone else. Result= more and more safety policies (designed for your own good or to ward off the sucking minority of profesionnal suers), become more an obstacle to freedom than an actual encouragement to be more responsible. Instead of telling you, behave in a responsible manner, the overall message becomes, No you can't do this 'cause we are responsible for your health. Once I was told off by a sea-side playground guard (mikey mouse kid park), because I was riding some rocks on the sea-side. No you can't do this here mate! he goes Why not? I am 200m from your playground, not even on the beach. 'cause if something happens to you I would be responsible... Yeah right, these rocks were public domain, not some private premises. He wanted me to ride just off the other side of the cape, so that he would turn a blind eye to any accident. Then I reckon he was the irresponsible one. Another time, the coast guards came over , shouting in their loudspeakers that I should not ride on the rocks...

What Is The Worst Thing Your Bike Has Ever Done To You?
TrashZen replied to LukeDraisey! :)'s topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Over the years, I reckon my bike has hit me pretty much with every single bits it has on it... (including a crank flip tail-whipped to the face when crashing ) But the most recurrent hit has to be the stem in the kneecap... -
Hey, When you want textures, would that help if some of us sent out our best trials scenery pics in good res (with no riders around) so that you can map them onto blocks. say pictures of rocks, pallet stacks, wood logs, concrete, tires, skips etc..? I can wander around and take a few clear pics on my next ride. Or do you want components pics or full bike pics or riders? Just mention the size, resolution and who you would like it sent out to... Looks like Poo Pipe is on the case , but you could be receiving loads of pics to play with if you define exactly what material you want.

Nothing beats natural... everything is just so much more technical, challenging, varied, thousands of different lines over the same bit of natural ... But street is good for marking your improvements and metering what you can or can't do.
-
I made up a list of bike manufacturers on a page, and all the trials related ones are indicated in brackets. Hope it helps Have a go.
-
I am sure there must be some calendar templates on the web... ready to integrate the pics and print out.
-
Yep, that's really a cool idea, all the videos submitted should then be sorted and put in a specific category under the riding locations.... that'd be awsome... I guess 1 or 2mn runs should be largely enough Need to film that unfamous wood log section in Cambridge
-
Some time we could organize a trip over there. and I can show you the good places... But when I go, I already stay at some friend's place (Ramiro), and the place is fairly small and a shared flat... so I can't really extend the invitation to others as it becomes crowded quickly (uncool for the flatmates and already about 5 bikes on the balcony ).
-
Actually, that was a tricky one, 'cause the bike went nearly flat before the drop . (originally, it was a full X-up but the pic was taken too late) But some smooth European style is never bad.

I wish we had some rocks like these in Cambs...

just found that demo video of a freeride Video Game on a french forum. You can download the demo video. Also check out the guy's website John, you need to sort out a Trials Video Game soon!!!

Yep, Keep the college in sight... cause if you suffer big injuries, then you're out of any decent job. College gives you an opportunity to have a job that will pay for just any hobby you like, including the best bike for trials. Sometimes I imagine if scenarios, if I had started earlier etc.. But actually, even though I will never be a pro, now I am glad I can enjoy trials without the pressure of winning. And some day maybe move to something else. It is not a few years in college that will stop you from becoming a pro if you are really good, so stick with it.

Hi Bill, Excellent video, impressive skills for a 13year old , I like the way you nail that front wheel right onto that fence... that's humiliating For your site, you should get rid of the first entry page, else the design is really nice and simple. Looking forward to see more videos as you grow up .

Really nice and smooth , very clean moves, definitely not UK style. Will learn a lot from that.

Work from home (I am my own boss so completely flexible on working hours) Writing for a monthly electronics publication (it's pretty boring to read for non-engineers, but its pays very well for the time I spend on it). + I get invited abroad to international press events

Been riding for 8 years.. , though I was probably not improving as fast as most newbies... Switched broken frames from 2 Cannondale killerVs 1 Cannondale Beast of East 1 Orange Zero to my current Toxsin

Ok, How many pics per entry?? I'd have like 5 or so I can't really decide on...
