Hey, I've been trying out different things in the past, feedback options for the tutorials, looked at blog-like boxes, like integrating a RSS feed (all in beta versions) but it always got messy as it didn't streamline well with the rest of the pages So I am more opting for a link at the end of each section, towards a moderated page were visitors can add their tips or ask questions about each move. I'll PM you.

Ryan had nothing to do with the Onza event, he was mainly promoting his DVDs at the Norco Stand, then heading up for some photo shoots I suppose

That was just a mint day! will post up some vids of the speed trials sessions... later on next week (by the way, Ryan leech is not injured at all, that was just a rumor set by someone, he was not meant to ride the event that's all , real cool guy ...)

I nearly always put a thin fleece over a T, and a light jacket if it rains... Else, good socks essential... never got too cold with regular MTB gloves.

All three days are good I reckon saturday will be busier.. but the comp normally runs all three days

All about safety then??? Mr Olly? Buy Shimano!

Interesting.... so much freedom in the uk

Yes and no It's nice to see different lines, at least a tricky line doesn't need to be high to be interesting

A guess about photography and privacy rules, the photographer owns all the copyrigths, and since you were in a public space, it's not an invasion on your private life (anybody else around could see you didn't bunny hop that wall ). It would be invasive if the pic was used for publicity for commercial services or products without your consent or for defamatory purposes... else, if you were famous, then, having your pic taken (in public places) would be part of the fame thing, you benefiting from it being published, as it is for your publicity as a famous person.... End of the story is, I don't think you can get anything... except maybe a free print if he is nice and understanding...

Maybe room for another section of the TF, moderated like the news, but only about covering comps (taking and encouraging inputs from all the people who turn out to comps, even as spectators) Though, that'd have to be an inter-forum thing, talking to other forum moderators from spain, japan, france, germany, czech republic etc... an interesting concept, sharing ressources...

Currently, the city council of Cambridge is quite interested in designing a trials/bmx park... they are very keen and have some money to spend on a patch of land... I'll be submitting some zone ideas for their next meeting... Everything is still very uncertain and vague, and it may take some time because there is a lot of bureaucracy, but I'll keep you posted if there is some progress...

hem Ok, I agree I can't have as many varied explanations as on an open discussion platform where everyone gives its angle to a move description. Hence, I try to give an explanation that worked or clicked with some riders I coached in the past, and this may be too rigid or limited. I must admit some early pages are a bit dry. Just time really. Though, holding trials big-time is a bit overstated... I am html-oriented, don't know too much about interactive coding, but I wouldn't mind giving it a go on some pages to see how that'd improve, or cooperate on the sideline, to build an interactive section that follows your rules.

yep, I try to actually turn during the front-wheel approach, by about 40 degrees or so, from having the front wheel outward the wall, to inward, that means more commitment to the front-wheel landing, and at least, you won't miss the edge because the front tire will not be parallel to the wall (not a hit or miss scenario) For landing to both wheels, yeh, just preload and stay more on the rear when jumping... When I do too much of one technique, I kinda forget about the alternatives...

I don't mind the mud and scratches, as long as the brakes are sound and there is no play or clanging noise... But whenever I have to upgrade a component, then my policy is to find a better one, maybe lighter, or better quality, but within reason . I have no pride in having an expensive bike just for the sake of it

Nice one Well, maybe an intermediate solution would be to run newsletters about trials (that's cutting the printing and shipping costs out of the equation, and a less risky enterprise) But again, even at very low cost, it's a matter of finding the time to do the research and writing and meeting with the riders etc... This could be a very nice experiment though... maybe something to talk about at the show There once used to be a website that did a bit of that

Well, fact is, I dont' think there is enough trials-related novelty that wouldn't be already posted somewhere on the forum to fill a standalone trials-magazine, or to do so would require someone full time searching for the info, talking to comp organisers, to riders, writing up interviews, etc.. all at an international level (that would really bring news, not just the usual rumor/news mix of the forum), and this is pretty much a full time job for an editor. I can't see someone taking up that job for free (or put it that way, without advertisers to support his mag), and maybe our sport simply cannot sustain a person to do that. So if MBUK has one page or less of trials info in its editions let it be, it has probably to do with the economics of trials But you can't blame the magazine for that, it does more than any other MTB mag and at least, brings more riders to trials by mentioning some of the comps etc... I guess MBUK's role here is not necessarily to preach for the convinced (us) and try to please the fairly marginal MTB community that we represent, but to actually pin-point the existence of trials riding as a sport. I reckon that's good enough for a generic MTB mag, until an editor takes the above job description .

Nice bike Would want to try one of these beasts some day
-
Is it going to be almost exclusively UK riders then?
-
Will definitely be going, Saturday or Sunday, though, not sure about bringing a bike with me. Too much hassle for little riding (if the zones are not open after the comps)

Downloading now, just too curious Totally amazing as usual... I didn't like the bit when you broke your heel though... that must have been a really nasty shock . Hope you 're already alright.
-
Nice atmosphere , really cool to see some fringe pics. Must have been really a nice trip.

Will definitely go for a day, probably saturday. Last year was mint .
