And in response to our last two posts, so we did : 9ft table, 42inches tall Adams rather... optimistic 'sidehop'... at 53inches Which we turned into a tap/hook instead 42inch table Dragons-tooth And slanty table All of this stuff is ROCK solid in terms of stability. We've both got to head back to work for a few days but starting Monday we're gonna get knee deep back into building. Next update should hopefully feature quite a few tyres and cotton reels Rich

See a lot of people say that, but as far as I can see the people who began this idea that Clive hates James got very much the wrong end of the stick and let the rumour mill of TF do the rest. Yes, James did own a Leeson, yes he did break it quicker than anyone else had at the time, and yes, Clive did say that James' riding style did not suit the Leeson design. Which everyone else read as "Clive said James was too shit to ride his bikes well enough not to break them." It's like someone saying David Beckham shouldn't play with Rugby balls; James' aggressive and powerful street style (at the time) was just not suited to Leeson's BMXy background, hence why James became a poster child for most Deng brands like Echo and Zoo, because they were designed for the type of stuff James does/did (I hope no-one is missing the irony that James has actually gone full circle in proving he is one of the UK's best all round riders by buying and ripping it up on his Inspired). I've known Clive for a long time and even though I don't ride his bikes any more I still get the occasional call just to chat and catch up, and I would be incredibly surprised and more than a little disappointed to learn that he had ever described someone's riding in the way that people seem to think he spoke about James. Although, as always, I could be wrong. Rich

New To Falmouth, Wishing To Find Other Local Riders
Rich Pearson replied to falmouth_trials's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Indeedy I am Although due to work I'm away a lot, which is a similar story to the other two main riders here, Bigman and Dan. Feel free to get in touch (e-mail is in my profile) and we'll get out for a ride Rich -
Thought about maybe getting back in touch with Clive Leeson at all Jimbob? Yeah they've not had much business recently but I'm sure Clive could be sweet-talked into creating anything you wanted really, and something like you're describing would be right up their street. Rich

Thats it, I want to actually go riding in Cornwall again soon, when are you free Alex? Quality vid man Rich

I will be honest with you, it was pretty dead for most of the day, although a couple of shows got quite busy. Thats just the way it rolls sometimes. Rich

Thanks for showing us round the place guys, and getting these snaps, a couple of quite nice pics in there Was a pretty cool demo considering it was a 750mile round trip to get up there and back Rich

I actually wouldn't mind Bristol on the 20th, and I'll be heading back home to Cornwall afterwards, so can give you some pointers to good spots Will msg you my number Rich

24tour :: 21st - 30th August 2009
Rich Pearson replied to Luke Rainbird's topic in Member Organised Rides
For anyone interested, I'll be doing Portsmouth onwards (am gonna just say f**k it and see what money is like closer to the time) so anyone wanting a lift from Pompey for the rest of the tour, give me a shout. Will be driving from Plymouth back up to London after the Plymouth ride. Wish I could make the whole thing, but looking forwards to it nontheless. Rich -
Probably not wednesday and probably not much use, but I could be around on thursday....

Erm, not sure where the 'Irish guys' came in Adam, but that would be Ben Moore riding and Darren McAlistair minding. Unless I've missed something really blatent..... Cool pics, looked like a good comp. Rich

Eyup, I'm in Northampton on Wednesday night seeing physio, wondering if anyone is around Thursday and fancies a ride in any of the afore mentioned places. Give us a shout Rich

I have to say, what I just saw was pretty remarkable. Having seen your previous video I kind of knew what sort of level you were at, but this seems to be a vast improvement. I can think of plenty of fully sighted riders who would struggle with a lot of the stuff you were doing in that, especially the "off camber" street lines. Good work Rich EDIT: Sincerest apologies Matt, but I appear to have deleted your topic by accident when trying to merge it with this one, which someone else opened earlier :$ please feel free to make another topic or just continue to use this one...

Not to detract from the obviously kind sentiment, but Rob's b'day is actually on Tuesday (July 14th)... Fond memories nontheless Rich

24tour :: 21st - 30th August 2009
Rich Pearson replied to Luke Rainbird's topic in Member Organised Rides
Unfortunately Luke, you're gonna have to strike my name from the list Dan Pearce is getting married on the 2nd day of the trip, which will put me out of at least the first half. I MAY be able to hoon up to Portsmouth and join the destruction there, but we shall see. Rich
