Hey All, Just finished my new video on my new bike, Phase 1.2. The film's basically me getting used to the bike and also just getting back to the basics and enjoying riding different stuff, hope you enjoy. Trials Tube Link Vimeo Lazy Link (quality will still be better form TT download) Notes on the vid: Trials tube has 1) distorted the aspect ratio so it all looks squished and 2) induced sound lag, so the audio is slightly behind the images. Both issues are easily averted by downloading the vid, this also restores the quality to what its supposed to be. About 5 minutes long and Radiohead soundtrack, hope you like it Thanks again to all my sponsors (listed above) for this year, and also for new product support from Mike at PhatPads which I'm running in PhatBackings front and rear. Oh yeah, and a big thanks to Craig Taylor for the segments he filmed. Cheers brother All comments welcome Rich

**Waits for Dave Marshall to wade in with sledgehammer-esque opinion**

I love it when peoples personalities really shine through in a video like this, in any sport; it just helps to make it seem more real Awesome find Rich
-
That was awesome dude, definitely one of the top mod riders out there at the moment, your riding always seems to really stand out Rich

Two different helmets and then none at all?! Such lunacy! Glad to see you've settled into Europe nicely Pat Rich

Do I or Don't I?

Looks like I may be invading your privacy also if I can find somewhere to park. Any volunteers? Rich

The latest vid from Ritch and Ross has been online for about a year now but after just bumping into them at Looe the other day they let me know it wasn't yet up on TF, so... here it is, and its MINT Go to Videos -> Full Vids -> Summer 2008 Download Probably two of the most unknown riders in the UK, and alarmingly talented. They're also two of the nicest guys I've ever met Hope you enjoy it, if you've never seen any of these guys before then feel free to have a look around the site and at some of their older vids Rich

Yo, whats the main day people reckon they'll be riding? Saturday or Sunday? Rich

I think, and I may need some official citation here, Chris Akrigg could be just about the coolest human being on the planet I actually laughed all the way through that Rich

Just thought I'd revive this a little considering two (quite similar) remarkable looking films I'm looking forward to Sherlock Holmes Guy Ritchie proving (by the looks of things) theres simply no aspect of cinema he can't turn his hand to. The Wolfman Three of my favourite actors together in what looks like a rather interesting (albeit remake) stab at the werewolf legend. Plus Emily Blunt. Never fails. Anyone else looking forward to anything? Rich EDIT: and The Road look pretty shit hot aswell

Dave Marshall once rode an Orange Zero from Lands End to John O Groats (837miles). No idea how long it took him, but he did it Rich

Downloading very slowly, but looking good so far Max Looks like you got the hang of Vegas after all! Rich

Are Magura's classed as trials-specific? Age: 22 Bike: In between a Phase 1.3 and a Phase 1.2 What is the best trials specific product you have ever used?: 2007 Echo Urban Rim (rear only) What is the worst trials specific product you have ever used?: 74Kingz Tensioner How long have you been riding?: 10 years How often do you ride?: Depends, over the summer when I'm on the road; every day. Winter or off time (like now); hardly at all How often do you ride with other riders?: rarely, most people I know have been silly and gone and got jobs these days Highest sidehop: 47" Longest gap, flat to flat: 9ft static, about 11" bunnyhop (both would be classed as pretty far from smooth....) Biggest tap: 51"-52" (ish) Biggest drop: 12ft Biggest up: erm, with a kicker I've done about 9ft. But other than that, probably about 55" hook. Can you tailwhip?: nope Can you switzerland squeaker?: occasionally, but I cheat by not using my feet. Rich

Me and Mike both gave it a try and, well, we both had pretty similar results Although I wouldn't be surprised if next time we we're there we'd both give it another go Land Rover is the primary sponsor of the MAD team for 2009, supporting us with not only vehicles to base our rigs around (we were given a Discovery 3 HSE and a Defender, both brand new at the beginning of this year) but Land Rover also bankrolls 2x2, the distribution company with produces Land Rover MTB's and the Phase brand/range. I know exactly what you mean dude, I was thinking myself when watching it back that it could have been more creative, but I was really just enjoying pushing myself and, I'll admit, scaring myself a little, that the vid just ended up being one move after another. Phase 7 should be a fairly different as I'm due a new bike soon which should have a rather different setup to my last. Watch this space Thanks very much for everyone's comments, glad people seem to like it Rich

I'm a little confused having only seen this thread/video; 1) Awesome riding, kid's got skills 2) What exactly is the problem that Russian trials riders (or individuals in particular) have against us that they need to go so far as what I can only describe as pretty immature name calling? Because as far as I can see you've taken a perfectly good video and tainted it by being sardonic morons. Anyone care to fill me in? Rich

Yo, After the last video a few people mentioned that they'd like to see me go "bigger" as it were. Duly noted, heres what I came back with, hope y'all like it Trials-Forum Video -> Full View • Download • Upload NOTE: Aspect ratio and quality are a bit off on TT player. Please download for best quality and resolved aspect ratio. And for those just too lazy to download.... Vimeo Link Filmed in London, Bristol, Taunton, Bigmans Farm, Verwood West Bay and Barnstaple. Thanks to Luke Rainbird, Darren McAlistair, Mike Singleton and Josh Kydd for filming, and as always thanks to all my sponsors Enjoy Rich NOTE: Anyone who saw the first thread and wondered where it went; upload screwed up so I had to reupload, works this time

Slight correction there Nick as we (MAD and Team Extreme) are running coaching sessions consecutively to every show we do, whereby we can help coach and train almost anyone of any level to be a better bike rider Rich

Yo, Skyride is a four big cycling events hosted by Sky around the country to boost the profile of cycling, the venues being in Manchester, Leicester, Glasgow and London. Similar to last years Sky Sports Freewheel in London, the events centre around a fun ride through whichever city the event is in, plus additional facets such as display teams (yep, the MAD team is at all four of them along with Team Extreme BMX display), bike doctors, healthy living advice and much more. The first event in Manchester has already been and gone which I was lucky enough to be at doing shows with MAD. Was an awesome day and really did a lot to help the sport of cycling and also trials (1,000's of people watched the trials displays that day, and the next events are only set to be progressivley bigger), so if you get a chance to be in Leicester, Glasgow or London for the next ones, definitely worth getting yourself down there, Sky are really pulling out the stops this year Rich

**Waits for Craig to post about our past encounters**

Really quite stunned by this, having known him for going on 8 years now Terry is what I would regard as a pretty tough guy. Dave, I'll be heading to london on wednesday/thursday, and its not too far out of my way to swing by Southampton if you were thinking of going and seeing him one evening? I pretty much owe my riding career to people like Terry who set up the first comps I ever went to and really got me into the sport, so I'd like to make the effort to get over there and see the old chap.
