really? I am pretty sure the diagrams and common sense shows otherwise

If only it had a stronger designed bridge to sit on.

did the kitten on the left survive? I do hope so!
-
what he is saying is that the freewheel could be hitting the frame/bb.
-
28 on the old Hope XC hubs Back in the day ACS Claws were the freewheel to have, I remember when a friend got one and everyone else (me included) was jealous. Funny how times change.

because the only vee brakes they have tried are ones on crappy mountain bikes and they think all vee's are like those. not sure if I agree about vee's feeling less "solid", I would have said they were on par with 05 maguras and stiffer than the newer style ones.

The main issue I have with looks is due to the fork and a little due to the bars I think, the frame looks fairly normal. If you had some better looking forks it would improve the whole bike soooo much! I think appearance is pretty important personally. Take 24" frames, you could have those with the toptube pretty low and still have a seat (Echo urban for example) but they look really bad. I would have made the toptube higher just to give the frame a nicer shape. I really don't know where you get the idea a lower frame is stronger? I'm no engineer so I open myself up to some ridicule if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure a taller frame would be the stronger way to do it. I would be really interested to have a go on your bike just to see what it's like, all I can go on is previous experience and speculation.

The Geo of your frame is very similar to a bmx, short back end, mid bb height, steep head angle, so I can imagine with a certain build it could ride alright, I just can't get over the look of it though, it's just so.......ugly I still think that stem is long for the steepness on the head tube angle, I know the angle of the stem will make it shorter than 150mm, but it still won't be close to ~50mm like a bmx and they can be twichy even with 74 degree head angles. I have found riding someone elses 24" with a 76 degree head angle and short 60mm stem that when carving for a 3 hop the bike almost wants to jack knife. I guess you have your bars VERY swept back which will bring things back a little more but it just seems a random way to do it, could get a BMX bar and stem on there and it will be stronger and potentially look nicer. Not convinced about your argument of the frame being stronger straight like that either and if you are struggling getting off the side of a bike with a seat I would be concerned. Nicks Triton with a seat and 20" wheel is the nicest cross over mod I have seen yet, I think it's just been done is a better way. Not tempted by disc brakes at all?

it smells funny (true story!)

best update yet?

nice big lighter bmx with brakes there! but yeah, finding old pics is awesome, looks like a typical southern comp....bankings! not like the real comps we had/have up north with proper rocks!

As others has said, I would like a seat on it. Also a super steel head angle AND long stem? That's got to be more nervous than a gecko in a microwave! Your chain seems pretty lose too, does it have horizontal dropouts, does it actually work with the gear ratio you run? If I was to design a frame I would be making dam sure the chainstay length fitted the gear ratio I ran. not a huge fan, I think the forks kinda ruin it for me a lot but it's not my bike so it doesn't matter.

Sprocket clearance. Freewheel teeth are further outboard (in that they're in the centre of the 'sprocket'), whereas almost all screw-on sprockets with a base worth using are offset inboard. As a result, they hit the BB yoke. I know of people running 16:14 (on the Pure frame - you could do 16:13 on the 24 I guess?) with a fixed sprocket setup, but 18t doesn't work. All the new Echo 24" frames being 116mm spaced probably won't help, unless you've got the frame already?

Different dropouts, different disc mounts, different disc mount brace, different BB join, different head tube, different frame...
-
Post mount They've got the same piston size as the Trial caliper so should have the same power. We've sold a few with completes and haven't heard any negative feedback at all which is a good sign. If brakes on bikes are bad we get e-mails/calls instantly...

2 spacers drive side bb, one non-drive side, random washer on axle on the drive side to clear the stays, jobs sorted.
-
good rider, but I refuse to vote for anything that involves that program. (controversy!)
-
shows they are popular and popular for a reason
-
Stronger and lighter though
-
might not be badly built, trials rims are shocking quality and can be really hard to get some joins to sit level.
-
definitely the Echo for the reasons said above

Watched "The Exorcist" last night. This film has a lot of hype about it being scary, after watching it I think that hype is misplaced. I am a complete wimp when it comes to scary films, I get scared at even the slightest bit of suspense. I can safely say that I watched this film all the way through and not a single scene is what I would call scary. Not saying it was a bad film, but scary in the 1970's seems very different to films made since then.

the last thing I broke was......actually, I can't remember what the last thing I broke was. I think it's been about 3 years since I actually snapped anything (touching lots of wood!) Edit, last thing I broke was my foot, I know it's not an item on my bike but I was on my bike at the time.
